Meet the industry's first adaptive, threat-focused next-generation firewall (NGFW) designed for a new era of threat and advanced malware protection. Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services delivers integrated threat defense for the entire attack continuum - before, during, and after an attack. How? By combining the proven security capabilities of the Cisco ASA firewall with the industry-leading Sourcefire threat and Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) features together in a single device. The solution uniquely extends the capabilities of the Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Next-Generation Firewalls beyond what today's NGFW solutions are capable of. Whether you need protection for a small or midsized business, a distributed enterprise, or a single data center, Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services provides the needed scale and context in a NGFW solution.

Cisco ASA 5516-X with FirePOWER Services - security appliance is rated3.80 out of5 by5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullWe upgraded our 5510s and 5505s with this 5516-X series. The next-gen features are really nice and delivers incredible insight in to all the traffic passing through it. VPN between locations and user VPN are simple. The upgrades were well worth our time. I would and have picked this product again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullExcellent product when you can configure it. Most of my issues are with Cisco. Upgrading to this from a 5520 was rough because the iOS language is totally different, the commands are not the same, items are in different locations and I haven't even bother with firepower yet. Rather tricky to configure and support from Cisco is one of the worst I've encountered. That being said, the product is a Cisco product so it's top of the line and reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the most part works like a charmThe firewall side works like a champ. Setting up FirePower and IPS has been a challenge and we continue trying to get them working. The management appliance used to set them up is quite cumbersome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Painful and unnecessarily complexThe Firepower services VM interface is slow, clumsy, and completely disorganized. Forget everything you knew about CLI or ADSM, all that has gone away. Most TAC personnel don't know how these things work, so opening a ticket will result in huge delays while they set up a lab and learn what's going on. This has been my worst experience with TAC in over 15 years buying Cisco.Still bug-ridden, and many important features are missing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ASA's are an Industry standard for a reason.I have been a Cisco guy for decades. Back in my day when we walked up hill both ways with a PIX firewall on our shoulders, life was significantly harder. Features like built in HA, layer 7, Firepower, & Advanced Malware protection make this platform a real contender. I have been in shops with Meraki, Sonicwall, Fortigate, and Palo Alto, over the last few years and nothing has truly been as holistically effective as the ASA's.
