More RAM will not necessarily speed up your computer but can lead to an improved experience by providing space for more open programs, thus preventing a paging file use on hard drives (prevent slowdowns).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked perfectly in my 10 year old motherboard I didn't think my 10 year old motherboard (Asus P8Z68-VLE) would recognize the "L" version of DDR3 and I expected it to fall back to working as standard DDR3 (at 1.5v). But motherboard did recognize it. It read the SPD in the modules and correctly ran them at 1.35v and 1600 by default. I did not have to change anything in the bios.

Search on web suggested that we needed machine specific, rather that generic Ram cards. Found the appropriate product on this supplier's website. Took out the two original 2Gb Ram cards and replaced with 2 x 4 Gb Crucial cards and PC is now running sweetly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from made computer like new I had 4 GB of memory in my HP Compaq 8000 and when we went to a web based server with Office 365 I was constantly pushing up against that limit and the computer was slowing to a stall - I swapped out the four 1 GB modules for four 4 GB modules - took about 10 minutes total - and now no delays, no stalls, no waiting for data to write to the hard drive - it's like having a new computer
