Shortage of ink
There has been a shortage of ink since before Christmas. When they finally start to produce again they only produce the most expensive kind. Surely since they know there was a shortage they would start producing the larger quantity cartridges

Cost vs Speed of Delivery... a Choice for you
Buying from HP is definitely cheaper than getting from retailers. If you can wait for a couple of days or even 3 days if ordering on the weekend, it is worth it.
