Lenovo ThinkPad USB 3.0 Basic Dock - docking station - DVI is rated4.33 out of5 by3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does what it is made for...As I see the reviews I think people have too much expectation from this unit. It is a huge benefit that it can handle 2 monitors while you have also your laptop screen available, so basically you have 3 desktops to merge as one large extended workspace. I found it very useful for my graphics work, and it came handy especially when my micro HDMI port died on my Lenovo Yoga 2 laptop and could not attach external monitor anymore. I do not know who was that idiot who designed a micro HDMI onto this otherwise perfect laptop... It also has a speaker out port in the front, so you can plug your headphones in it and that will mute down the outside speakers (if you have) immediately. I thought that higher resolutions will be available like true 4K but it goes only until 2560x1440... that I think a bit limited but overall I really happy with it. Frankly, I would never spend $200 for it, but I got a used one for $60 + spent $25 dollar on new cables and power adapter, because that was missing from the seller's pack (normally it is the part of the original package)... I am overall very happy with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with Windows 10, no so much with Windows 7My Lenovo X1 Carbon (3rd Gen) had Windows 7 when I first got this dock. It loaded the drivers and started working right away when I plugged it in. Configured a new network connection over wired ethernet, and set up my monitor all on its own. Great! Then I connected/disconnected a few times... when that happened my Audio service stopped working. I put in some workarounds, but those interfered with the hotkeys (no idea why)My employer (who manages my laptop) had a Windows 10 upgrade available. Once I updated all the problems went away. I now have a fully seamless experience using the dock. Only gripe is that it's a little too light, so it gets bumped around on my desk a little bit by other cables. That's a super-minor gripe, though.
