I was told the printer needed additional software to be compatible with Xfinity WiFi...Being Xfinity is one of the largest companies in the country you’d think this would be the case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, kind of loud, toner cartridges are exp I thought it was going to be hard to set up because of reviews, but if you use the right Lexmark app it’s pretty easy. The printer is kind of loud, but has a lot of functions and the print quality looks good.

Magical efficiency gains for dropping off pre-address, pre-paid packages during COVID Christmas rush, when combined with packaging tape (non-Dell item). Prints wirelessly from computers and smartphones. Any issues seem to be user or phone related, not printer thus far. One downside, paper is required, and isn't magically supplied like the ones you may be familiar with in your office. Probably why it was on black Friday sell.

Set up was a little difficult bc the driver upload for the Dell laptop I own (ironically was not as simple as the uploads for the other computers in the house. Also, the 'starter' ink cartridge ran out quickly, and the ominous warnings from Lexmark not to use any ink other than Lexmark OEM cartridges reinforce the idea that the business model is not from selling printers but from selling ink. (BTW, my local printer cartridge seller explained that the company that makes the Lexmark cartridges is the largest distributor of after-market ink cartridges, so all the dire warnings from Lexmark are merely intended to drive customers to their higher profit margin branded cartridges.) Finally, given the low price, the warranty is really not particularly valuable, as the hoops you are required to jump through make the exercise not commercially sensible. But the printer works ok.

Now wirelessly printing duplex black & white from a Thinkpad running Office 10 and a 2024 Mac with a Mac OS running Office 365.

I had to give them remote control over my system. Not something I wanted to do. Also the paper tray will only handle 20 sheets of paper or it will jam. I have not been very happy with this purchase. I have another Lexmark printer so I figured this would be comparable but it was low-end and does not even come close.

We ran the CD 3 times with no success ! Will never shop a heavy item online. Would return immediately. Might be defective.

This would have been a 'five' though in the middle of the printing documents it stopped printing and started printing gibberish on top of each page. One of my nurses' helped me fix it. I am not sure what we did to fix it, though now it is printing just fine. I do love this printer now that it is working.

It prints fast and the print quality is excellent. The instructions initially said to use the enclosed DVD--while I'm a technological Luddite, even I know we've moved beyond that (I bought it in Dec 2020). So I had to hunt and search for online instructions, an extra step I shouldn't have had to do.

Don't buy it Well, this is the worst laser printer I have ever owned.   I have had 7 Dell laser printers, and they held up for years until I just couldn't find toners for them anymore.   Now Dell is selling Lexmark garbage.   Huge quality difference.   First, this Lexmark is just incredibly cheaply made.  Again, comparing it to comparably priced Dell brand printers of the past, the Lexmark is just thin, light, and flimsy.  It's not going to hold up to daily use before it starts to physically break.   Installation was a PITA, taking three install/uninstall tries before it would actually print.   Now it runs an error window after each page I print, and I can't get the errors to go away.   Also, the front paper feed is more of a I-need-a-paper-jam-right-now feed.   I think I have only gotten it to work once or twice.   All other tries have resulted in a paper jam.   If Dell is no longer going to sell Dell printers and instead offer this trash, then I'm going to be shopping elsewhere for my printer needs going forward.

Windows 10 did not even need disc install although it comes with many many programs--in my opinion not needed, Prints from any browser's webpage, Word, PDF's...works great as duplex printer...a bit noisy and documents are not as sharp as our more expensive laser printers--but legible. Comes with wireless, though we have not tried it--we just use USB-there's no ethernet. All in all for the price it's a good printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good AirPrint printer I could not get the printer to work on the network though WiFi. I tried for two hours with no luck. Would sometimes work when setting up the printer only to get a message looking for printer indefinitely when I tried to print. Connected it Direct to my router with Ethernet cable and it instantly worked. Now that’s said it works great. I can print directly from my phone and mac. It’s so amazing. AirPrint is so nice to have.

Also included a CD for learning and exploring, easy to follow as my children ages 10/11 could follow. Install Cloud like a blue tooth to sync printer to all my devices, iPod, PC smart phone. Great easy simple printer, high recommend for active family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very disappointing product! We had a very bad experience with this product. We spent hours with a tech, got the printer to work for a few days and then it stopped. Very complex instructions for set up and generally disappointing. We have sent it back for a refund.
