It adds Gigabit Ethernet and a fast USB port to a Thunderbolt port, is small and portable and looks great. It’s the little things that make it better, my Daughter saw me using it and commented about the rubber strips along the side and short cord that doesn’t get in the way. We tried it on her Mac as well and it worked instantly, so I might have to keep my eye on it in case it gets borrowed :) I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review

If wifi is spotty or unavailable, get your laptop connected to fast and reliable wired Gigabit Ethernet using the StarTech Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet plus USB 3 adapter. It is a very solid, well-built, light and compact unit that just works. No extra power cables are needed with this plug-and-play unit. It also features dual colored LED lights to indicate activity and speed.Connection speed is fast, and the USB 3.0 port will keep your Smartphone or iPad charged, hook up an external hard drive or USB printer. The rubber grips on either side of the unit is a nice detail which means you won’t loose your grip while plugging in your devices or peripherals.The 2 year warranty means peace-of-mind and it’s no wonder why because it not only looks great, but it is built to last.I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

It frees up a USB port and adds an giga ethernet port. No drivers required for mac and is immediately recognized. It is small, light and no heat so it can fit anywhere and enhance your current usage of your mac. Due to the fact that it uses a thunderbolt port, it will add a USB if one does not already exist.What is especially nice is that I have used it with another StarTech provided product DK30ADD. When used in conjunction with this product, you not only free up a USB port on your mac but you gain an additional giga ethernet port while gaining all the benefits of the DK30ADD.No power adapter is required for this product but the DK30ADD will use it's own supplied power adapter (with international plugs).So if you don't mind "daisy chaining" device together for multiple needs, I would highly recommend both products but if you just need a giga ethernet port and want to add an additional USB port to your system, then this product is well worth the purchased.Anything great product from the folks at StarTech!!!“I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.”
