Audio does not work. I can see and hear others and they can see me but can't hear me. It has Not been able to be fixed online with Dell tech even though more firmware downloaded. Picture quality is good. Now if only I could get others to hear me.....

Good Picture, But Too Zoomed In
The image is really sharp and clear, and easy to install. It's just too zoomed in by default, and even after installing drivers, it can't be zoomed out any more. I've pushed my monitor as far back as it can possibly go on my desk and I still have to lean back to get my whole head in the picture. Also, if your monitor isn't completely flat on the back (mine has a slight outward curve, the camera won't fit snugly onto it. It says it's universal, but this wasn't something I could really anticipate as I bought both camera & monitor together.

Camera doesn't adequately attach to monitor.
The camera has good quality however the clip to hold it on the monitor doesn't work very well. The location of the cord at the back of the camera is below the clip so interferes with the clip attachment and causes the camera to tilt or not stay. The best way to attach this device is to lay it down on the table. If a window is behind your desk it does interfere with the brightness of the camera and thus makes your face dark. Even with adjustments using the software doesn't improve the brightness. I do like that the camera has microphones incorporated. The sound quality is very good as well though could cause feedback during conference calls if other devices are inputs as well.

Mount is not adequate to hold camera steady, no tension, just sits on top. USB cable design is poor as it is extends from the bottom and does not allow camera to stay positioned on monitor without sitting crooked.

If all you want is a great picture this is your camera... how ever it needs a hot shoe or threaded mount to make it easier to use with a tri-pod. Also, the lens protruding past the face of the camera is odd and clunky. Great picture quality though.

disappointed as 1. Needed drivers covered several back models, therefore it took 3 hrs to download.
The color and adjustments gave a green yellow appearance. I chose this webcam as I've a dell monitor and wanted the camera to work well with dell. Their was no adjustment to sit on the top of the monitor. I cut a piece of starfoam to hold it.

I was told that picture would not have fish bowl effect, that margins would be straight, i.e. not a wide lens. This has a very wide lens and margins are very distorted. If I had not needed to use it right away, I would have returned it.

Useless. Only has one angle, way too close. Absolutely useless for Zoom meetings. Mine for whatever reason never was able to pick up the voice. We tried everything, reinstalling the app, trying several different camera apps. It failed me on a very important job interview day. I am surprised Dell even sells this crap. You also can't shut the camera, so hackers can easily see what's going on in your house.

Horrible webcam. It makes your face appear very close to the camera, and no ability to zoom. Do you want to be the largest face onscreen in your meeting? If not you will have to rig the camera up more than 3 feet away from you. And the picture quality is really bad, I wanted a webcam to make a better impression virtually but I am embarrassed to use this one. Lastly the wire coming out of it makes it sit slightly slanted on top of my monitor but it doesn't matter since I don't like to use it.

Great quality with photo and video. Easy plug and play set up. Clamp is universal, but took a bit of positioning to optimize--might be easier with different monitor or ring light set up. If I can figure out how to zoom out a bit so it's high def 1080 doesn't capture every single wrinkle on my face, I'll give it 6 out of 5 stars ;-)

The camera does not work with Mac OS and Teams as indicated. I confirmed I am running the latest versions but the camera will freeze during calls and I will get an error message. A workaround noted is to install a driver but that driver is not available for macs.

Camera works well. Microphone is less than useless. Unless your face is an inch away from the camera and you are yelling, the microphone level is so low nobody can hear you. Boosted the input level to max and still no luck. Unless you have an alternative microphone option would not recommend.

Affordable, reliable, decent web cam
Needed a web cam for the daily conference calls required now and loved the fact that this one was affordable, has an integrated mic and was super easy to set up. I just wish it had some zoom or rather unzoom capabilities. When it sits on my monitors, it's very close up.
But I would definitely recommend for novice users or just need it for those times that video is required. Super easy set up, super easy use.

Just what I needed!
The camera on my laptop was not good at all. Pink hair, pink shirt, etc.! I ordered this camera from Dell and it couldn't be more perfect. Great image at all times. I would highly recommend. I thought it would clip on my monitor, but it sort of sits on it. And I added additional electrical tape on either side to hold it. I love this camera!

Excellent picture quality. Camera worked immediately. Could not get the microphone to work (on my Dell processor and monitor and unfortunately, Dell does not provide tech support on this, despite selling it. We needed this to work for medical/health issues so I had to pay $106.92 for a one-issue tech support.

Needs a more secure mounting
The absence of a clamp or some more secure mounting arrangement is a drawback for me. "Resting" the camera on my laptop makes for a precarious arrangement, and is not suitable in some situations. The cord doesn't help with camera placement.

ADESSO Webcam Is Not A 5*
The camera works fine, but the mount to attach to a regular monitor (DELL U3818DW is a bit unstable, it wiggles; and you better not touch it once it is in place, or it may fall off. Also, I was very disappointed it did not have a universal connector to a tripod. That could have been a deal breaker but if I were not so busy, I would have returned it and buy one with a connector. I have a mini-tripod for this webcam but cannot use it. I am restricted to where I put it on my monitor, and cannot move it on my desk, which I do often with my other webcam.

Nice design. Pleased with the default image quality and framing. This can be a problem since webcams these days seem to come with no software to control settings.At the mercy of whatever controls are available with the streaming service. This product handles things well.

Overall, I was disappointed with this purchase.
The picture is shimmery- almost like I am permanently using a green screen and the camera can't quite adjust fast enough.... you know the edge behind people on a zoom call using a virtual background? *that* is a permanent aspect of this camera.
At this price point, I expected a higher quality clearer picture. The picture quality reminds me of video quality from 20 years ago or something I might find today on a camera build for toddlers.
On the positive side, the color is accurate and it focuses well.

Nice video and audio but ... cannot change video/audio and theme background unless I click onto an active virtual conference link. Why does it not allow me to make adjustments when plugged into my PC, and not on an active link?

basic inexpensive camera has a few detriments. One - it does not autofocus close up. Two, the cable is attached to the unit in such a way that the camera is tilted when mounted on top of monitor. Three, the cable is too short.

It's not that plug and play, had to mess with a lot of settings to get the microphone to work and then people reported trouble hearing me. If I switched to a Logitech webcam there were no issues.

I Can See Clearly Now...
Having this webcam is the best thing with all of my Zoom calls lately. I have to present constantly and being able to have this setup allows me to utilize my larger monitor instead of my laptop screen. So much better and the visual imagery is crisp, clear and nicely framed.

Disappointing. The camera itself works fine. BUT...it came all by itself. No paperwork. No directions for use. No documentation that could assist in any way the user. Plug n play, yes but without any assist in its operation. If this were a persons first ever webcam, he/she would be completely lost as to what to do with it or how. The biggest problem I had was the audio. I could not access audio controls. It took a while before I managed to get the thing to work at all and then it was weak. I needed it for my daughters wedding that I could not attend. Like I said before, Disappointing.

The Adesso webcam was easy to set up. The clip restricts where it can be attached, so I used velcro picture hanging strips to give me more options. The sound quality is fine and the video is okay, though not as sharp as I’d like.

Picture quality is good. Bracket doesn't quite adjust well to fit my dell monitor. Cable comes out of side of camera and either hangs in front in monitor or pulls aim of camera to the side when I drape over back of monitor. A strain relief on the mounting bracket would help. I don't feel like taping the cable to my monitor.

The camera works fine and the microphone picks up well for Zoom meeting, which is my primary use for the camera. The unit is so light in weight that sometimes the cord to the computer moves the caera from where I put it. I expect that in time the corn will lose its stiffness from the package and not cause that problem, or I can always control the cort's positioin by taping it to the desk.

Camera and mic are pretty standard for an external webcam, it isn't bad by any means, but there isn't anything that really stands out about it to me save for one thing. The stand that allows you to position it is pretty terribad, not a fan at all. It is mostly functional, but it is awkward imho and there is no option to mount on a tripod like thing or anything of the such to make up for the awkwardness as in some other similar webcameras.

Connected and worked well. No issues with basic function. Color seems a little off compared to computer webcam though resolution is better. Increased the microphone sensitivity for others to hear, but fine after adjustment. Completely adequate for general video conferences. I would recommend.

Installation is easy, and the camera does function, it doesn't crash or anything, but there are several big misses on the feature card.
#1 - it has a spot for the 'online' indicator - showing you that the camera is in use, but it doesn't have LED's, so you could forget that your camera is on very easily.
#2 - manual focus - so you need to work to get it to focus on you - not a huge deal, but if you change camera position, then you need to re-focus things
#3 - when the camera first activates, it goes to a deep yellow hue on the image, then adjusts back to normal... sometimes it does this 1-2 more times during a call, at random. I opened a ticket with the manufacturer, got a new firmware that was supposed to fix that, but it didn't help.
I will say that when the picture isn't hue'd yellow, it is of fairly decent quality.

This camera is total garbage. The microphone has poor gain and the camera is grainy, distorted around the edges, and looks worse than my first digital camera from 1999. Avoid this like the plague.

It didn't work
I bought it from an offer that came with a new computer purchase. It arrived quickly. There was no documentation with it. I guess I was supposed to know how it works, but I didn't. I plugged it into a 2.0 USB and nothing. No software loaded, nothing happened. I called Dell and they sent me an email with a return mailer and I sent it back. So far I haven't got a refund.

OK with some suggestions for improvement
OK but not as good as the Logitech I had used. I noticed the same Adesso con's as other reviewers reported: attachment to the PC is a little difficult to secure; camera shows my face so close up it's alarming (I'm in my 70's :. Haven't tried the mic/sound yet. Am hoping the Logitech I ordered in May, based on one that I borrowed and love, is delivered soon. If so, will probably give this one away.

There are Better Options for the Same Price
First, it has too good of resolution; on most applications the video looks grainy. Second, the microphone isn't super strong. I've had occasional complaints that people can't hear me, even when I was only a foot away. Also, the microphone doesn't like to be used separately from the camera. Turn the camera off in a web call, the mic goes too. Lastly, the camera part sticks out about a half inch from the already somewhat bulky design. I'd return it, but then I'd have to pay for shipping.

I have two cameras at the same price point and this one is much darker. I have tried it in several different lighting situations and it is just darker. That would be great if you are in a room with too much light. My office is in a dark room, so it doesn't work for me. It is perfect for my student.

The price was right and it got here relatively quickly. Overall, the picture and sound are good. My biggest complaint is the contrast. If you're in a brightly lit or dark room it does not adjust well to changes in lighting (cloud passing over etc.... So during the daytime you look very dark.

Great camera for the price. Setup is easy and the device anchors to my monitor with ease. My only issue is there doesn't appear to be a way to shut the camera or mic off easily during a call. There must be. I'll keep looking.

I was told that picture would not have fish bowl effect, that margins would be straight, i.e. not a wide lens. This has a very wide lens and margins are very distorted. If I had not needed to use it right away, I would have returned it.

Very disappointed with this device
The video is always inverted with no tooling to be able to mirror the input. It doesn't work like the inbuilt webcam on a mac. The keeps getting disconnected everytime the computer goes and comes back from standby. The image quality is too sharp and the mic also has this issue with not connecting when the computer returns from standby

Good upgrade
Significantly better than my old camera. It does seem to shift a little "Pink" in coloration. Super easy to set up - just plug it in. It would have been nice to have options for anchoring it, but it is just fine.

The camera came with no instructions or software. There is a " manual" on the Adesso web site but very little information. A driver was automatically loaded so there must be some sort of Windows generics driver. The camera does not attach to monitor or have a tripod mount. As far as I know it can only sit on a desk and has a very short USB cable. I would not recomend this camera and dont know why Dell would sell items like this. They should get there own people to check these out and review them.

Good picture, but wish this could zoom out. My face looks closer up than everyone else's in any meeting. You have to put it back further on a stand or move your body far away from your laptop.

Doesn't work and doesn't come with instructions
It didn't come with any instructions and there weren't any on the Adesso website, so I had to ask for some. I did and received some brief instructions. I followed them, but when I tried to use it on my first Zoom call it didn't work. Now, I have to ask for more help.

It's Okay If You Need One ASAP
I needed a web camera asap. I purchased this one because it was in stock. I would have preferred a cover so that I didn't have to unplug it after each use. Also, I had an issue with the mounting it on my monitor. My monitor is not exactly flat in the back. It has a curve and the attachment kept slipping off.

It gets the job done for the price. In low light it is really bright. The auto focus is good. Couldn't get a Logitech because its a months wait and I needed a webcam asap. The mic isn't good but most webcams don't have good microphones.

Very dissatisfied. Microphone constantly malfunctions. At least once every day the mic stops working, either by not hearing what is being said or, at playback, together with the video, playing back what was recorded at a speed of 10 to 20 times normal.

For Plug & Play device, the H4 is adequate for most applications. Color is generally good if window sun light is muted - otherwise the intense light flares to a washout of image. Priced right for what you get.
Instruction sheet with the camera is marginal assistance to setup and use.

It's okay - I'd recommend it if you are on budget
Video quality is good. I just do not like the zoom ratio which only offers you two options between widescreen (limited) and normal ratio (putting your face on the screen like a kid will do). Other than that image quality is good. I have not tested the sound since I am using a external mic and headset.

The wire too plug it into the computer is too short to reach exactly where I wanted to place it but
that can be worked around by most people as I did I suppose. The microphone only worked the first time I used it to Zoom, now is not connecting! Cheap is not always good!

Economy with lesser performance
The camera is similar to profile and construction to well known competitors. It does have a lens that protrudes about 3/4" from the body and this can provide additional manual focus. I found the camera, while sharp generally, had a problem with jaggies (irregular jagged edges) at the edges of background objects and some facial features like eyelashes etc. as if electronically it was over sharpening. This was on a fully updated Windows 10 Pro PC. Using the HD setting on applications like Zoom with this camera did produce a wider field of view but with not insignificant barrel distortion at the sides.

The camera worked fine with Windows 10. It would not work on a Windows 7 Pro machine. There are no directions with it. Took a little to figure out you can adjust the focus. Otherwise it is a usable camera for the price.
