Connectors meet an Ingress Protection rating of 67. Number 6 means the connector is totally protected from dust. Number 7 indicates the connector is protected from the effects of immersion between 15 centimeters and 1 meter. Use a Panel-Mount Connector with a Backshell Kit (sold separately) to make a water-resistant connection. Construction consists of gold-plated brass contacts, nickel-plated steel shells, and a silicone insulating ring. The maximum recommended panel thickness is 0.062" (0.15 cm). Connectors accommodate wire sizes from 30 to 20 AWG. Solder cup connectors come in male or female versions. The use of 440 screws is recommended.
