Much to expensive for the lack of work it does. You are better off just using a regular printer with 2 labels per page.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this thing I had been printing shipping labels on sticker paper, which would never line up to the top edge, so I had to cut them out of the middle of the paper. It was a pain and a waste. Now I press print and the QL-1100 is all like, "I got this" and shoots it out in two seconds. It was super easy for me to set it up. I have a Dell computer. I'm not technically savvy and it was a snap. I love, love, love this printer. I had been on the fence about buying a thermal printer, and I'm kicking myself for waiting this long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic machine and perfect for shipping labels I love my QL1100. It works flawless with my mac and didn't require any special software or drivers... it just works. Buy/sell/trade a lot of stuff online so I'm constantly shipping items (mostly smaller items and I also have an online store where I sell products for one of my brands. The QL1100 makes it so easy to print my shipping labels (I primarily use goshippo for buying labels, but it works with ebay and paypal labels too) and get my items out the door in a flash. It's reliable and fast, works within seconds of turning and prints labels very quickly (the automated cutting is a nice bonus too).

I followed all the instructions as I unpacked and connected the printer up with my MacOS 11 laptop. I used the P-Touch editor that comes when downloading everything you would seemingly need to operate the printer. I printed my first few labels with the editor and they all came out pretty great except one that I had to crop down. I then was a little curious about the driver for the printer. I was thinking, "there's no way this prints without a driver, right?". Unfortunately, correct. It was so disappointing to realize this printer does not have a driver to connect with my Mac so I could easily print off labels more than one at a time. I originally really liked the printer, and if you're only printing a label here and there where you don't have multiple orders you want to ship at once, this is great. But, if you want a seamless process with a printer driver instead of a separate app, this isn't the label printer I would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very expensive paperwieght install first roll of 4x6 labels and create the label send to printer and get an error that the labels in printer are not the same size as what i have checked off in the software. ive double checked everything 839 times now and nothing changes. i would not recomend this printer to my worst enemy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Machine is great, software suck I’ve had different Brother printers for over 10 years, and overall I love them. Otherwise I wouldn’t keep buying them. I do have to say, however, that y’all ought to spend more time on the software... especially for the Mac platform. Macs are so nice because everything works and most software is intuitive and easy to use. Your software seems like it was built for Windows, but tweaked to get by on a Mac. It’d be nice, since so many businesses are using Apple now, if you’d get some Apple software designers to make the software flow smoothly and work without a lot of swearing!

To start with this is easy peasy when it comes to setup, truly a plug and play printer. When you print from a PDF shipping label on the Mac, the print option lets you choose from a drop-down menu of prepopulated label sizes; this feature is so convenient. For shipping labels, I`ll choose "4x6 shipping label." The Mac print-to-PDF option shows you what the label will look like when printed; you can change the dimensions to make larger or smaller. Printing from PDF on the Mac is no-fail! You have to purchase compatible labels, which might sound obnoxious if you`re used to a different thermal printer that uses generic 4x6 labels. With this printer, you can use different rolls for different purposes (such as mailing labels, file folder labels, etc. it automatically detects the size of the tape. The automatic cutter is convenient. This printer saves so much time! And my shipping labels look so professional. My use of this thermal printer on the PC is limited. The speed at which it prints is great, quality is very professional and comes out dry to touch. I don`t have PDF software installed on my PC, so maybe another reviewer can discuss the print-to-PDF functionality on the PC. You can print any label size for your needs. The versatility may spur your creativity and cause you to want to print bar codes, etc. I will probably try printing bar codes next. The mobile printing,Brother iPrint&Label app, making thus even more useful.

I also like that there is an easy to use SDK so I was able quickly and easily update a few programs to have the ability to print custom labels.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinionSetup:Amazingly simple to setup and use. 17 minutes after opening the box I am printing labels, anyone can do it. I hooked up 2 cords and downloaded the drivers, then printed my first label. The instructions are well written and try to anticipate possible questions so there were no concerns.Use: The selection of fonts and print types is quite extensive so I have many choices on how to print my projects.They made it very simple to operate and you will be glad to have chosen this one. They don`t try to teach you something new, it looks like the screens we have used for years. It will easily integrate into the office suite programs you are familiar with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Label Printer but not compatible with UPS I purchased this QL-1100 to print shipping labels from USPS, PayPal and UPS. The online literature states that the printer is an ideal solution for printing shipping labels. But, when trying to setup the printer, I wanted to insert the free labels that UPS provides on a roll. But, these free labels cannot work on the Brother label printer because the printer does not have a mounting system to install a generic roll of labels. Labels must be pre-mounted on a plastic gimbal that supports the label roll. You have to purchase labels with this plastic gimbal. Further, it appears that UPS does not support the Brother printer for direct printing. To summarize, the printer seems like a good buy and might work very well for customizing label printing, but for those who want to print directly from USPS, PayPal or UPS, this is an appropriate solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Printer wouldn’t connect or print though I purchased the printer to be able to print shipping labels, however after hours on the phone and having a second printer sent to me the printer would still intermittently disconnect from my main computer. I tried with a secondary with the same result. Finally after hours on the phone for a second time I was told another person would need to call me back and this is when I returned the printer for good. I now have a Zebra which is working perfectly.

Assembly : I am a follow the rules sort of woman , so I read the entire instruction booklet before assembling. I found the diagrams well labeled and easy to follow. I inserted the label tape without any problem and it clicked into place. Then I brought the entire machine over to my computer and followed the instructions in the book.Downloading / installation the drivers : the only problem I had with installation of the drivers was that I didn`t know which folder it went into so I had to do it twice , the second time following the installation closely. Once installed , the printer was easy to use and I really enjoyed trying out a few of the templates to create labels. I love the creativity and ease of use. Pretty simple. No major problems asking as you follow directions.

It was a simple connection to my computer. I run a small business and this item prints business quality labels for my mailers and packages. It is very simple to switch to different size labels without any hassle. I am not very computer savy, but the set up was very simple and prints like a quickly without any jams. The machine is well built and quiet and gets the job done for any small business owner.

While using the QL-1100 for the first time, I was truly amazed at how easy set-up was for this lightweight label printer., It was very written with very simple instructions that were easy for myself, and my 16yr old to understand. It was simplistic in the assembly, and adding the spindle/cartridge couldn`t be easier.Some of my favorite features are that you can use the QL-1100 without installing drivers or software, and set-up and printing from a compatible smartphone was a breeze, Not needing any toner & ink is also a big hit with me. With that being said, I found the Brother`s QL-1100 label printer compared to, and exceeded my past use of other similar label printers on the market. There are a few things that I feel could be useful to improve on this label printer...Additional fonts would be great, the option to use color, to be able to not spend additional money for new spindles/cartridges also to be able to print directly using the labels for stamps. If you tried to do that now, it requires some time-consuming calculations to get the printing specs correct. The Brother QL-1100 is a wonderful addition to my home office equipment, it has already produced great labels that I normally would pay more for, it is made by a company that I know and have trusted for a very long time.

Labels are printed in high quality. This printed can be used with mobile devices as well which makes it very convenient.
