The ones that I had, the black plastic casing on the plug end started to pull back and the exposed wires started to fray. I order a few and the order came quickly. Redesigning it so that the issue doesn't happen would be great because these are cheap.

I went online to purchase an adapter for my dated Inspiron based on the site's recommendations, but the computer tells me it doesn't recognize the adapter. That it's incorrect. I can turn it on, but the battery indicator on the front of the unit still blinks orange (or red). I have to press F1 to continue.

I've ordered two other units and they did the same thing. I've given them the numbers to match up with the proper charger but nothing seems to work.

My original laptop charging cord/adapter started to break due to being plugged and unplugged repeatedly since the pandemic — working now part time at home and part time in the office. I’m so glad that the new charging cord/adapter has two ways to plug in, so I can leave one at home and one at the office and only bring the sleek, easy to use charging cord back and forth with the laptop!! IT DOES NOT FIT MY DELL LAPTOP! SO 3-4 weeks wasted. Was able to return, but zero help on getting right the correct one. Ugh!

The cord design is very poor, and the connection is prone to breaking at the metal sheath or the thin plastic of the DC port itself. Was told that since my laptop didn't have accident coverage, the one year manufacturer warranty didn't count. My previous laptop (another Inspiron 15) had a good, robust design, but it seems Dell has been cheaping out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for Inspiron 7000 Series I just purchased an Inspiron 15 7000 Series Ultrabook (7537) and I was looking for a second power adapter for the laptop to keep at home. This is a "recommended" accessory for said laptop and the Inspiron 7000 7537 is listed as being supported in the compatible accessories but this is not true.The physical barrel connector on the power adapter does not fit in the laptop - it is too small. A call with support solved the issue easily and I was provided overnight shipping of a power adapter that would work with the Inspiron (part no. 332-1833) and even though it was almost $20 more than this one I was not charged. I usually deal with Dell on the business side of things but I have no complaints with this support call on the consumer side this time around. Good to see the consumer side getting better support.

The Dell website displays completely incorrect/inaccurate information regarding the listing of Dell laptops that this adapter is compatible with. That is also the case for other adapters and many other accessories listed for purchase on the Dell website. It should be a simple process to find and purchase compatible products for my Dell laptop, but unfortunately, the product compatibility listings are completely useless.

When it arrived, it didn’t fit. I called & they made it right. They saw why I had ordered the one I had, did not charge me for it, and helped me to find & order the proper sized charger.
