Product Overview

Main Features
  • Digital toner
The Fluke Networks Pocket Toner NX2 identifies and tests VDV coaxial cable to detect continuity, short and open circuits, AC/DC voltage, and features a detachable tone generator cap with a removable coupler for testing male and female connectors. The toner tests live cabling and is protected up to 52 V. Buzzers in both the main unit and tone generator indicate continuity. The LED display indicates continuity, shorts, opens, and the presence of AC and DC voltage. The toner turns off automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life. It is made of anodized aluminum for light weight, durability, and corrosion resistance. Additional specifications include various environmental operating conditions. Toners are used by network technicians to troubleshoot and maintain VDV (voice, data, and video) cable in telephone and data networks.

The toner is available in standard, cable, and deluxe kits, all of which include an F-type male push-on adapter and F-type female Speed 81 coupler for testing cable with F-type connectors. The cable kit also includes F-type female 81 and male 71 couplers and an alligator clips adapter for testing telephone lines. The deluxe kit also includes F-type female 81 and male 71 couplers; a Dial Tone Detective that connects to telephone jacks to check for dial tone and proper polarity of wiring; a 66 block adapter, an RJ-11 adapter, an RJ-45 adapter, and alligator clips with RJ-45 adapters for testing telephone lines and networking cables; RCA male and female adapters for testing audio and video cables; and BNC male and female adapters for testing miniature to subminiature coaxial cable. The Dial Tone Detective has a green LED that lights when a dial tone is present and a red LED that lights when the jack is reverse wired.
