Physically, the Hitachi StarBoard looks, and in some ways performs in exactly the same way as a traditional dry-wipe or even a blackboard. The board, at its lowest level, is still a dry-wipe surface; the teacher needs no technology to use it in the same manner that has been common practice for many years - in the traditional pedagogic position at the front of the class.
