Dynamic security enabled printer

Certain HP printers are intended to work only with cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip or electronic circuitry. These printers use dynamic security measures to block cartridges using a non-HP chip or electronic circuitry. Periodic firmware updates will maintain the effectiveness of these measures and block cartridges that previously worked. Reused HP chips and electronic circuitry enable the use of reused, remanufactured, and refilled cartridges.

With a few learner glitches with setup terminology. With some very helpful tech support from both HP and Apple I was able to get past the techy terms and start printing my work. The photos were amazing and print speed was understandable once I saw the quality of them compared to my last HP printer. I am not hesitant to recommend this printer to anyone who is a hobby photographer or graphic artist. It can handle your art and your regular printing, even if you are away from home and email your work to the printer. My wife, who is not a tech friendly person, finds it "a pleasure to use."

It does have one problem though; it will not allow the user to print 4”x6” photos from your computer. You must load the images onto a usb thumb drive. It took me a long time to discover this; HP customer service was ZERO help. If I could have received help from HP customer support I would have given this unit 5 stars

The 7855 has fully met my expectations. It has a document feeder which my old HP print did not have, and this makes it significantly faster, and the picture quality is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Set-up was easy Purchased this to replace out Envy 4500. Easily replaced the printer from the 4500 to the 7800 series in instant ink. The only thing that misled us was the technical specs on HPs page. It says "Cartridges and PrintheadsPage yield (set-up/inbox cartridges)APJ: ~ 125 pages black, ~ 120 pages tri-color NA: ~ 170 pages black, ~ 120 pages tri-color" Hiwever after only 31 pages the black cartridge is empty. And my welcome package is not going to show up until the 4th of September, good thing i set it up on the 24th of August. Aside from this it is so far decent.

Have a 2 problems with the machine in the first couple of weeks. Prints a random line then does a paper feed then continues using up many pages of paper. Tech support was able to resolve the first time but happened again a few days later

I like that I just leave it in idle and print as required, without turning it on of off. I went with an ethernet connection and found it to be not as straight forward as if I'd gone with wifi, but so far so good.

However - the specs say that this printer prints on both sides (duplex) but it does not UNLESS you manually reinsert the paper. Also, it is not easy to open the paper tray particularly with the paper support tray partially blocking the slot where you have to pull the tray from. This machine is poorly designed in several ways.
