Keep your device unplugged for longer with the 9-cell ThinkPad Battery 70++. The average run time is 94 watt hours and the battery can be recharged with the ThinkPad External Battery Charger (40Y7625). Each power source uses Lithium-Ion technology and can be used as replacement for damaged system batteries or as a convenient spare. The battery is compatible with T410, T420, T430, T510, T520, T530, W510, W520, W530, L410, L412, L420, L421, L430, L510, L512, L520 and L530 systems.

Especially now with so many questionable knockoff products or so-called "refurbished" items, buying direct from the manufacturer always gets longer lasting quality products. I just began to use this battery but already its obvious it will hold a good charge for a long while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Exactly what it should be: a direct drop-in replacement for the original battery I got with my Thinkpad 410i. Speaking of which, that original battery lasted just under 10 years! Since the Thinkpad 410 is still working perfectly despite its age and enough mileage on it to literally go around the world several times it should be obvious why Thinkpads are the only laptops our company uses. One has to wonder if any other brand stocks/supplies replacement parts for gear nearly a decade old? I doubt it. Mainly because unlike the Thinkpads, most other laptops are not build as well and so are expected to be trash in just a few years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spend the Money and Buy Your Battery From Lenovo I foolishly bought a battery for my Lenovo Thinkpad T430 a year ago on Amazon. It fit and worked fine, but within no time at all was down to 2-3 hours max. This one so far is holding steady at 8-9 hours. Course I've only had it a few weeks, but I don't think the Amazon one ever had that much time on it. You get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, but then no so good When brand new, this could power a W520 Thinkpad (a beast of a machine) for 8 hours of solid activity (max brightness, WiFi/Bluetooth on, some optical drive usage, near constant HD thrashing, 32GB RAM, average 50% CPU) throughout the workday. Fast forward 2 years, and daily cycling the battery power from 100 to 0 and back, and this same battery barely lasts 2hrs with less than half the load (~30% brightness, WiFi on, bluetooth off, no optical usage, sparing HD, 16GB RAM, avg 25% cpu), which is disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Weakpoint of Laptop I'm on my second 70++ battery. First one lost it's charge capacity over a couple of I years. I bought a replacement and after 1 year and 3 months the battery suddenly died and is outputting 0V. They are very expensive and it seems like it's a bit of a gamble if you get one which is decent or not. Overall it's quite a design flaw in the Thinkpads having such unreliable batteries and is making me other laptops when we buy replacements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work with T430 as advertised While the Lenovo website says this battery is compatible with the Thinkpad T430, upon receiving, the laptop wouldn't recognize the battery. I called the tech like and they said that it's the wrong battery type. They provided me a different battery # and told me to call the manufacturer directly. So, points do the tech people who steered me correctly but poor advertising.

Prior to this battery, I bought a no-name version that lasted about 3 months and never achieved more than 4 hours max life on a good day. Now, with the OEM battery, I’m confident I got what I paid for as evidence of the 9-10 hours of battery life now. Now, I can leave the charger in the bag while I’m at work...money well spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value! Don't be fooled by knock off batteries that are cheaper, you get what you pay for with a Lenovo replacement battery. Our original battery lasted almost three years with daily use. The new one appears to be faster charging as well which is a big plus since we run on battery exclusively. Don't set yourself up for disappointment in a few months with a inexpensive battery that won't hold it charge!

The change was VERY rapid. I thought I would buy another one but after reading recent comments I'm not sure it's worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always purchase OEM batteries - Knock Offs SUCK!!! OEM hardware replacement for batteries is the only way to go. I thought I'd save myself a bit of cash by ordering on Amazon. That 'knock off' just about fried my laptop by overheating it in less that 5 min. and had short-circuit the cooling fan. When I took it out, not only was the laptop hotter than Hades, so was that knock off battery. I will never by on OEM battery replacements again. Go Lenovo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Worse Battery Life for any Laptop Ever Same experience as everyone else. The battery holds a charge for about 30-45 minutes before dying. This began just a little over 12 months. I'm not a heavy user either. Very disappointed. Wish there was another option as I don't want to purchase another one only to have it die too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long lifetime here (but hardly use battery) I have a lenovo thinkpad T520 with a 9 cell 55++ battery since 2010 - so for 7 years now with nearly daily use. But 97% i am plugged in but battery is always in. I had around 50 full load cycles due to BMS and battery capacity is still at around 97%, due to batterie-monitor (batmon.exe. So the lifespan is really amazing to me, when you dont push the battery too hard. Never let it go down to 5% capacity or lower (but i guess i even did this a few times in the beginning). Notebook runs on battery for around 3 hours still with midium load.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still at 40% capacity after 5 years After 5 years of daily use (6-10h) with partially-on-ac and partially-on-battery, the battery reports ("upower -d" in Linux): energy-full: 33.6 Wh energy-full-design: 84.3 Wh which means it has about 40% left of original capacity when fully charged. At 4 years it was 53% of original. I can still use it for an hour or so at moderate usage on battery. Many others have reported they can no longer use it without charger (at about same age), but they have used it almost completely on ac so the battery clearly detoriates faster when at 100% charge most of the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Value for $$? Not there at all. I'm on my third battery - second replacement. At 12 months, battery performance drops to less than 25 percent. At 15 months, the battery is useless. T530 laptop and I do all I can to conserve power all the time. At $160 plus shipping, that's over $12 a month for this battery. I will be talking hard to the IT team about upgrading my team's needs to something more adequate as these T530s are costing my budget roughly $3500 a year. A laptop shouldn't have to be upgraded after two years but when you add 20 % of the laptop price to two batteries in two years, the machine is no longer the bargain Lenovo sold it for. Even if you follow all the battery-power conservation advice, the bottom line is the battery is the weakpoint in all Lenovo products. Add 20% of your deployment costs in additional yearly maintenance if you consider Lenovo ThinkPads

I have been getting these Batteries for the Past two years and the 70 ++ has been the one I turn to the 9Cell extended life keeps my guys working not plugged in charging there batteries. that extra life is the difference in getting the job done or having to come back after a recharge.
