Works well to consolidate cables for my work PC. I travel occasionally and will work at a coffee shop from time to time rather than my home office. Much easier to handle two cables (power + doc USB C) than 5+. I originally bought the mini dock and had ethernet past through issues... this has been flawless so far.

The dock works well
The dock works well and allows me to use multiple monitors and USB devices with a single USB-C cable from my laptop. One minor annoyance is that if I lock my laptop in the afternoon, the next morning I have to open it to get it to wake back up. It doesn't wake up just from pressing enter on the keyboard or pressing the power button on the dock.

Simple easy to use. Plug in to USB-C port and as long as it is powered on and plugged into the correct port (I accidentally used a different port on the device that doesn't work for connecting to the computer).. It has worked great so far, silently charging my laptop and mirroring or extending my displays at the same time.

The Hybrid USB-C docking station replaced a lower-tier Lenovo USB docking station that malfunctioned after about 3 years. This was on sale (15% off) and had the porting options I needed. While unrelated to the product itself, Lenovo and UPS utterly botched the shipping, with UPS returning it to Lenovo after a week without attempting to deliver it. I had to order it again and it took 4 weeks for the refund for the first aborted order to post to my credit card after calling to complain. But that eventually got resolved OK and the docking station is doing its job.

From what I can tell, the unit works as designed. The only issue I have is the unit’s wattage (135) is insufficient to fully power my laptop, which requires 230. As a result it generates an error message regarding the power issue. To avoid the error message I have had to use both the dock’s adapter and the laptop’s.

I have a 2 monitor setup (Asus Pro Art 27" monitors) at my home office and had 2 of these docks crap out on me within a 2 week time frame. They worked for week or so and all of a sudden the power light turns off and won't turn on again. Lenovo was helpful with providing a replacement for my first dock but it is very disappointing that I need to repeat the process once again.

I purchased a Lenovo Yoga Laptop and a Lenovo brand usb-c because I didn't want any issues when hooking up the laptop and additional screen. It didn't disappoint. Hooked it right up and went to work. No issues and very easy to get started. Plugged it in and went to work. Highly recommend this device.

This is recommended for the ThinkPad P16, but the power supply is inadequate so it is necessary to have both power supplies connected which is dumb. Docking stations for my ThinkPad W530 are able to supply sufficient power so this is a step backward.

Different from what I'm used too, but I like it! One USB-C connection to laptop is all you need. It is better than a traditional docking station because you have that flexibility to put your laptop anywhere on the desk. Has many ports and everything works perfectly with no lag. My only negative comment is that it was a little pricey.

DisplayLink disappoints
This dock uses DisplayLink to be able to send video over any USB, making it compatible with almost any computer. However, DisplayLink causes a lot of stuttering and dropped frames in video. It’s even noticeable when moving the mouse. It is not a pleasant experience. I returned and bought the ThinkPad Ultra docking station that doesn’t use DisplayLink, which works great.

I was recently issued a new computer from IT which came with a generic USB-C hub. The computer struggled to operate correctly. Once I received the Lenovo ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C device the computer performance was a night and day difference. The service great I ordered the item on 12/22/22 and received it on 12/29/22.

I bought his dock station 1 year ago, it worked well, until couple of weeks ago when it decided not to charge my computer anymore, tried to contact LENOVO customer service first because "apparently" there is a, 3 years warranty, second because I was hoping, at least, to be able to understand why this issue was happening to my device, so very disappointed and frustrated, after hours waiting on the phone for no responses, I decided to write this review .... I even went to Geek Squad and they tried to help me out as well and they also told me it could be one of the cable or the dock station and that was better to call LENOVO .... so here we are ....so far no answers and I can use my computer just for a couple of hours before it died ... thank you for your "prompt response" LENOVO tech support. very nice!!

Pros and cons
I bought this to use with my new Thinkpad, which replaced my 25th Anniversary edition Thinkpad. It definitely does what I need (connect via HDMI to dual external monitors, Ethernet, and additional USB ports). However, in replacing my old setup, I sacrificed the dock, which doubled as an angled laptop stand/riser, in addition to housing all the ports, and connected through a special port on the bottom of the old Thinkpad. Perhaps a future iteration of this item could "hybridize" the two ideas by making the case angled, but keeping the USB-C connection to the laptop.

have not used it yet, even though I've had it for 2 weeks. See, Lenovo got the docking station and my laptop in record time--well done! But, the wireless keyboard and mouse got routed through Mongolia via lame horse-drawn carts and, almost 3 weeks later, no mouse and keyboard. I'm sure the docking station will be wonderful, though, once I get a chance to set it up.

Doesn't work with Macbook Pro 2020
I have a ThinkPad Gen2 and it works with both my Thinkpad notebook and Macbook Pro. The ThinkPad Gen2 was out of stock so I bought this Hybrid USB-C (more expensive) but didn't work with my MacBook Pro. I installed DisplayLink Manager and tried the suggested solution but it still doesn't work for my MacBook.

Good product, but check your PC specs first
I bought this USB-C dock to pair with my Ideapad 3-15ITL6 (Type 82H8) laptop. It has a lot of ports to expand the capacity of the laptop and super easy to install. After a couple of hours of using the laptop connected to the dock, I noticed that the PC was draining battery and not recharging it. I looked at the laptop specs and discovered that the USB-C port on the laptop is for data only, so now I have to use the power adapter that comes with the laptop in addition to the dock power cord to keep both devices running. I spoke with Lenovo product support prior to purchasing the USB-C dock and they confirmed the compatibility of the product with my laptop, but did not say anything about the power limitation. In my opinion, PC power capability is a key feature of these docking devices and not having this with my laptop setup is very disappointing considering what I paid for the device (over $260).

The dock itself seems fine, but the fact is, it's 135 watt, vs. 170 watt for my X1. Sales recommended this dock for my particular X1. The published spec says it's compatible. And yet, it crashes my X1 every few days with the message "wattage not compatible" (see photo. Lenovo really needs to figure this one out. They should not be recommending a dock that doesn't work with their own product.

I bought this to replace my ThinkPad Ultra Docking Station (type 40AJ. My laptop would periodically overheat while using it, even with a cooling pad with fans. The profile of the docking station prevented the fans from cooling the laptop body. This new dock works great. The laptop has not overheated at all with the new dock. This Hybrid USB-C has plenty of slots for my needs (USB, HDMI, speakers). It has a nice, small footprint as well. I recommend it!

This docking station worked perfectly for my work ThinkPad T495. I run 3 monitors in addition to the laptop with no issues. I do recommend that if you are working on a work laptop to make sure that the necessary drivers are approved by your employer to download.

Great Lenovo Product
I have used ThinkPad products for years and have never been disappointed. This docking station is a great product and works well. When I get to work I only have 1 cord to plug in to connect my E595 to the multiple monitors, mouse and keyboard.

Great features, fragile thunderbolt connection
Overall good, really nice features, great ports, connectivity was excellent with laptop and dual monitors hdmi, the only reason I don’t give five stars is that the thunderbolt junction feels fragile, if you bump the laptop it can pop out or if the laptop is not adjusted at the right angle to the connector cable. If it has something to secure the cable attachment to the computer better it would be 5 stars.

Excited to use in my new office setup
Super excited to receive the associated peripherals to my ThinkPad Yoga X1 Gen 6. This hub will definitely come in handy when my office setup is complete. My CSR Quintin recommended this dock station when the one I chose was out of stock. I’ll return with update once setup is complete (monitors, external hard drive, new desk)

WORKS JUST THE MORE EXPENSIVE ONE
I have already purchased a USB-C for my laptop but wanted one more. One for my office on the go and one for my permanent office. This way all I had to do was unhook just the laptop and go. When I looked at the previous USB -C I had purchased about a year ago, it had doubled in price. I saw this one and looked at compatibility and it would work. I purchased it and everything is hooked up and working beautifully.

Nice, solid, dependable dock
Chose this due to it being the recommendation for the ThinkPad I purchased. But what I like about it is that is has 2 HDMI outlets, which works much better for my setup. I had issues with the Thunderbolt 4 dock connecting an ultrawide via Displayport, but not with this one using HDMI.

Purchased this for my Ideapad 5i. It I
Works but is not fully compatible so the on/off power button can’t control the laptop. I was told the ideapad line does not have a docking. The price is a bid higher for partial working but better than OTC products. OTC will tend to heat the laptop.

USB-C Dock does its job well
I ordered the Hybrid USB-C dock to work with my new Lenovo X1 Carbon laptop. The unit is fast and supports my 42" monitor and second 30" HDMI monitor very well. My main complaint is that if my laptop goes into sleep mode, things go a little wonky coming out of sleep, and sometimes I need to shut down and restart to get things reset to work correctly. If I just have the screens go to sleep, but keep the laptop powered and running, I don't run into this issue and everything keeps well and stable. It could be more of an issue with the laptop than the dock. But the doc is powerful and fast, and with the 185 watt power supply that comes with it, all of the USB ports and the fast charging capabilities work very well.

Great dock, bad display cable
I love this thing, but... the supplied usb c cable is short at 3'. I've purchased every 6-10' cable I can find and only 1 fits in the recessed usb c port on the dock. Why in the world is it recessed into the dock like this? None of the other ports are. Makes it so almost none of the cables on the market will fit. I found 1 6' cable that will fit. Can't find a 10' one.

I purchased this dock to allow me to have everything hooked up to my laptop while working from home. It's convenient, keeps my work area neat, and everything works as it should. Having the on/off button also power on/off the laptop is great so no extra steps required. Having a way to connect to the internet by an ethernet cord and not work solely on WiFi is also a plus.

I bought this hub to use with my ThinkPad laptop and really appreciate how easy it was to setup. I use it with two monitors and a wireless keyboard and mouse. I make using my laptop feel like I am using a desktop and I find it makes working more productive. I've used it for over a month with no issues. Great product if you work from home.

This device does exactly what I hoped. It has a plethora of ports and fully supports my Thinkpad T14 connecting to 2 3440x1440 displays. This allows me to be super efficient with my work laptop. Pairing this with a USB switch and I can bounce between my work and personal machines on the same monitors/equipment with just a few button presses!
I love the number of ports this thing has, and the flexibility that having both HDMI and DP outputs offers. Only downside is the high cost, but given that this thing is so powerful and flexible, I understand why.

Thinkpad Hybrid USB-C docking station
Works flawlessly out the box. I have it connecting two 1440p monitors to a Lenovo X1 carbon. I didn’t have as easy a time finding a docking station capable of supporting two monitors over 1080p so I’m glad lenovo had this quality offering. My only request would be an additional usb-a port on the front for more versatility and that the price could be a bit lower. Otherwise there’s not much to complain about here.

The dock first worked with two external monitors and then started hanging all the apps in the computer, especially when Teams was being used. Now even with one monitor it does not even recognize it. After playing with drivers, tens of installs uninstalls it does not still work. And unless you clean the driver entirely even when you don't use the dock, the computer hangs during Teams. Finally gave up after wasting hours and hours. Can't even use the charger only because the charger that connects to the dock is old Lenovo style rectangle but the new laptops are USB-C. What a joke!

Works OK, need to be clear it can’t power a laptop
The dock itself is fine, the problem is there was no indication that it wouldn’t output enough wattage to power both the dock and a 15” laptop like the Thinkpad P15v. If I had known it couldn’t I wouldn’t have bought it. If there was an option for getting a larger A/C adapter that could power everything, that would have been ideal, but I didn’t see that as an option. Not great Lenovo...

The unit is incompatible with the video drivers that were installed on the computer. For three months there have been several mentions of this problem in the LENOVO community, yet there was no comment or action by Lenovo to address the problem. That did not stop them form continuing to ship this unit to their customers... this is a disappointment!!

Thunderbolt Power management makds device useless
I was told by lenovo that this would be compatible with my lenovo laptop. It kind of is but required a 4 hour phone session with their support staff to get the docking station operational. It's extremely frustrating that there is little to no documentation to deal describe how to avoid power management issues with these docking stations. Because of the proprietary BIOS configuration, there's an issue with thunderbolt port power management and windows which arises when plugged into this docking station. It render the monitors useless and causes the OS to stall and freeze. Really a terrible experience. Thankfully the support staff was helpful and got me to a working space, but of course the issue has arisen again. It seems this will be an ongoing saga. If you don't have to worry about thunderbolt power management issues then the dock seems just fine, but if you do, then steer clear.

Really Helpful Laptop Dock
This device is really helpful in turning a workstation laptop into what feels like a desktop computer with multiple screens and no wire (except one) that needs to be connected. The only two reasons this is not a five-star review is because (1) it is not clear what the button on the top of the device does and (2) it does not seem possible to get programs to run dual-screen with both monitors or at the proper resolution. Otherwise, this is a really enjoyable product when it works as expected.

My old docking station for my T450s went bad. They no longer make docking stations, so I purchased the "ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C." My only complaint is that when I restart the computer or plug it back in to my desk setup with 2 more monitors, I have to rearrange what goes on each screen- it does not remember which monitor I prefer to have programs on.

Nice but would be nicer if it had laptop charge
I am used to the clp in docking stations that allow for both dock and charging ports. This docking station does not have the all in one dock and charge. You are still rerquired to purchase a separate charger for your laptop as the power source for the dock is not adequate to power both the dock and charge the laptop. I purchased the T15g's and they come standard with a 230W power supply for the charger. Users do not like having to unplug their charger all the time from their doc and prefer to have something to just have a spare. If you are looking to purchase this keep in mind of these items as the 230W charger for your laptop is $80+

It works but firmware won't install
I'd give it 5 stars if only the updates to the firmware would install. Very frustrating that the firmware install crashes everytime. Otherwise it does what it says it does. I have laptop and two monitors of varying types. One monitor is HD and the other is UHD. Everything works well together.

Works, But a Few Watts Short
If you are looking into buying this make sure you know how many watts of power your laptop actually uses, this dock has a 135w power supply but will only charge your laptop at 90w. The other 45 watts are used by other devices on the dock but not for the laptop.
The Compatibility Matrix for this docking station only refers to the driver compatibility not the ability to provide enough watts of power to your laptop through the type-C thunderbolt 4 cable. I had my work buy this for me so I would not have to fill up all the plugs on my laptop every time I came to the office. It does work nice as a hub, I only need one USB C cable for everything but it barely keeps up charging my Thinkpad P16s Gen 1. I primarily use the laptop for CAD design and with all my usual apps open I must be using exactly the 90 watts this dock can output through the thunderbolt 4 cable. If I arrive at work with 95% battery, I will leave work with 95% battery. The charger the laptop came with will output 100 watts and has no problem charging and running all day, but this hub is barely keeping up with my system. Unfortunately there is not currently a larger power supply version of this docking station so the only way I can get better charging is to use both the charger my laptop came with and the docking station at the same time. Then the docking station is only used as an overpriced USB hub.

The unit works as expected. It is nice that the USB ports are powered when the laptop is not present. This works great for charging phone. The only small issue is periodically when the laptop have been to sleep and powered up, the monitor does not get a signal. I have to unplug the display cable and replug. No sure if this is the USB hub issue or my display. Other than that, it have been great.

Purchased to use with my Slim 7i. Dock works will and had sufficiant ports for my needs. A bot overpriced if not purchased with a laptop, but the price when purchased with a laptop was fair. No issues yet.

It works exactly as advertised and it's easy to setup. The only downside is that the dock and the power supply are about as heavy than the laptop, but one doesn't usually travel with the dock, so this is probably not important.

USB-C connection to my T470s works with power and monitors but USB ports on the dock do not work. When switched to USB-A connection the monitors and USB ports work but I have to power the laptop with a separate power cord. Not a complete solution.

Upgraded to Hybrid USB-C is a definite winner
Upgraded my USB dock from the USB 3.0 dock to this Hybrid USB-C dock.
Connected to my T480s. Having the USB-C (the one cable that does it ALL!) is a nice upgrade and makes my connection/disconnection that much simpler. Plus the connection is more stable than the USB 3.0 docking and the drivers seem to work seamlessly with the laptop. USB 3.0 dock was very nice but had some connectivity issues. I have experienced none of those with the Hybrid USB-C dock. And as a "lay flat" versus sitting upright, with the various cables attached it is more stable and not prone to tipping over if something tugs at one of the cables.
Very much worth the upgrade for me.

ThinkPad Hybrid Dock
Product is cumbersome. A docking capability would have helped rather a wire from dock to computer. Directions for set up was confusing as to which connection to use. Dock will not allow ethernet connection to cover over to computer once the SIM card was installed. USB device for remote keyboard and mouse only works on computer.

Beware! Does not work with latest laptops like T14
A month ago I bought a Lenovo system comprising of a T14 Gen1 AMD Thinkpad, the Hybrid USB-C dock and a Thinkvision T27 to work from home due to the coronavirus.
The dock seems to connect fine at first, but when I close the lid the T14 restarts regardless of the W10 power settings.
Latest drivers and firmware are installed on all machines.
Furthermore it fails to drive the monitor to its proper resolution, even though the T14 performs flawlessly when it is connected directly to the monitor via USB-C alone.
The Lenovo technician acknowledged the problem and nothing new since then. They say they are waiting for instructions from the USA.
I asked for a different (cheaper) replacement dock as a loaner until they sort out what is wrong with the one I got, they say it is not possible.
Service ticket is open for three weeks and no indication where we are going with it.

Love the dock for my laptop. It has some many ports, USB, HDMI, Network, USB-C, headphone jack. One cord from the dock to the laptop that powers the laptop, does dual or three monitors.It connects to the network and when I unplug it, the laptop goes to Wifi.

This dock falls short of the old-style Thinkpad docks in two areas- it does not provide power for my laptop, and it doesn't allow me to use my discrete graphics (NVIDIA with the external monitors. Actually, it's not much use at all.

Doesn't manage two screens and my laptop screen very well. Constantly plugging and unplugging it for it to recognize both screens and apply the proper scaling. It is as if it doesn't remember my settings for the monitors from the previous time it was plugged in.

The docking station has plenty of ports and performs well when actively using your laptop. I've noticed however that if you leave your laptop idle or alone, the docking station can begin to randomly disconnect. The only to resolve this is to physically disconnect the docking station, then re-connect the USB-C cable. I've also applied the latest firmware available for this device, but I still have the same symptoms.

Just what I needed!
I started working remotely and where I work we use two monitor screens to help with effiency, but we don't have that luxury at home due to us only being able to bring just our laptops. I had already purchased monitors, but was on the search for a docking station that had two HDMI ports and couldn't find any until I found this one. It's small and has plenty of USB ports, and audio port; it has everything! I absolutely love it!

I bought this. Used it for a week. And immediately returned it. Basically several times throughout a day the dock’s output would freeze and “crash” back to the laptop screen. I updated my laptop (X1 Extreme to have the latest drivers including BIOS and thunderbolt firmware (I know this dock is USB-C only). I even updated the firmware on the dock with no improvement. I could never pinpoint if there is a consistent theme for the dock’s failure. Sometimes it is when I initiate a download, surf to a website, or open an application.
The dock seems to be well built. Super solid. The number of I/O on it is abundant for anyone’s needs. I love the fact it charges the laptop via USB-C. Just bad drivers or maybe something wrong with the internal hardware.

Effective Docking Station
Docking station works very well and came in handy during these work from home times. I wish there were more outlets and that there was compatibility with older models (so I could just plug my older personal computer as well). Also, ideally, would be great to have the docking station support power for monitors and printers (to avoid having to connect them directly to power and thereby reducing the clutter caused by the many cables).

The Docking Station you've been looking for...
It works! Having to quickly transition from working in my office to only working at home was made so much easier with the ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C docking station. Now my workspace is set up with my printer, scanner, and monitor, plus I have additional ports to charge things like my Fitbit... which really isn't getting any use now that I'm stuck at home in this chair in front of this great workspace working 24/7. So anyway, yes, it's a great product and highly recommend it.

Great device for multi-monitor setups
Covid abruptly forced me into a remote working situation, so I needed a docking solution with ports that provided me the necessary connectors. After a lengthy search, I settled on the Lenovo Hybrid USB-C. I use both HDMI ports and the included power dongle to connect to my personal laptop. I connected two Bluetooth devices via the USB ports as well. I STILL have USB and monitor ports for use, so availability is no issue for me. My laptop recognized the dock and accessories seemlessly and there was really little to no configuration required. The form factor is discrete enough to place the unit behind my monitors in an upright position, next to other hardware on my desk. Overall pleased with the build quality, functionality, and design!

Looks nice and most features work, but... it uses DisplayLink for the video connection.
DisplayLink does _not_ work well with Linux. Worse, the fact that the video connection is based on DisplayLink is not mentioned in the specifications (on this website). If so, I would not have bought it.

Standing Desk Wiring Upgrade Must With Docking
Love the new USB-C docking design for my new Thinkpad E490. I've already added two new ThinkVision monitors to take advantage of the additional ports and cleaned up wiring. Now I'm also jacking in some of my other hardware easier which is used for my LIVETHEFUEL Podcast Show too. So again, loving the cleaned up wiring, desk configuration, and functionality gained with this addition to my standing desk home office design.

Good Dock Bad Cable
The cable FRU 03X7470 came with my Thinkpad hybrid displaylink USB-C dock, but the dock would refused to wake up out of power savings yellow led. I thought the dock was the issue, but replaced the included thinkpad cable with another 10Gbps usb c cable and it now works perfectly

Great docking station
This works just as well as any other docking station I have used, and it looks nice. The size is great because it is easily hidden.

Lenovo Docking Compatibility Chart is Incorrect
I bought this docking station to work with a P1 G6-21FV ThinkPad laptop. The Lenovo docking station compatibility chart indicates the dock can provide enough AC power that external power doesn't have to be independently connected to the laptop. However, once plugged in, a computer message shows on the screen indicating external power needs to be connected. Now I have to purchase another AC adaptor (I need a separate mobile adaptor for travel).

Look for a better docking station elsewhere
This thing is awful. I bought this to replace a 40AS hoping that this would solve my issue but it has caused new issues. First, my computer (Lenovo P15s) struggles to wake up from sleep with the exact same settings on my previous dock. The HDMI cable that I was using with my previous dock no longer works with this one and had to be replaced. And this dock for some reason will not do HDR with my monitor anymore even though it is fully capable of it. The only brightside is I do not seem to be having the USB connection issues I was having with the 40AS. Fixed 1 problem to cause at least 3 more. I am reasonably tech savvy and even took this to my IT department to see if I was doing anything wrong and they confirmed I had hooked everything up correct and had every last thing up to date.

Outstanding dock extender for Lenovo laptops.
Great dock for connecting two external monitors, printers and othe peripherals. It's small, compact, loaded with additional ports, easy to connect to my P1 Gen4, worked perfect from the 1st time I turned it on.

Great Docking Station
I selected this dock specifically for the dual (HDMI) monitor capability. A bonus was that the USB-C port doubles as power and as a link to the dock.

Lenovo gold standard durability and ease of use
5 stars on functionality and ease of use. Plenty of ports and it gets a workout swapping multiple monitors, cameras, headsets, microphones pointers, remotes keyboards, mice. Two operating systems Windows and Ubuntu.
Introduced to Lenovo and Thinkpad laptops 12 years ago and nothing compares to rock solid durability, trouble free use. 60% travel airlines, car rentals, with use in tough industeial applications on plant florr. Never had a single problem or issue with Thinkpad or Lenovo hardware.

Canceled my order without telling me
Lenovo canceled order without communication. I have ordered from Lenovo's site before, recieved my order no problem. This last order was due to arrive. When i checked my tracking it went from arrive in two days to returned to warehouse. When i called Lenovo they said the shipper could not find my location. When i asked if they could use another shipper (after explaining this wasn't a problem for them before) i was told no. Not once did she ask was there another location i could ship to. They said they were sorry but made no efforts to keep me as a customer by allowing me to have thier product. Extremely disappointing.

ThinkPad Hybrid - correct solution
