LG 34UC89G-B - LED monitor - curved - 34" is rated 4.20 out of 5 by 46.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Longevity is questionable When first purchasing this monitor roughly a year ago it was quite an investment. I would fully expect an LG monitor to last as long as the other LG products I own. Currently there is a dead pixel line across the bottom of my display where it seems to have just gone out. I am disappointed in the quality of the monitor after using it so little.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Monitor forms vertical and horizontal lines I bought this new in September 2019 and after only 6 months of use it has developed permanent vertical and horizontal lines. Super disappointing especially given how much this monitor costs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it but targets a very specific group I got this thinking about flight simulation, arcade type, War Thunder... occasionally X-Plane... I play also Civilization VI. For those games... it is a SICK monitor. Come Cities Skylines type of game. Terrible. I wish I had put down a bit extra and had gotten a higher resolution capable monitor. Even in Windows, image is NOT crisp. You can almost see the pixeling in the fonts... as I type this, for example. So, depending what kind of games and applications you use this MAY be the best monitor you can buy for the money. I regret a bit having it because I did not think CS would suck so much on the maximal resolution and aspect ration this monitor can give.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor After using this monitor for about 2 months now, my only complaint would be backlight bleed and lack of ability to change picture settings. The monitor performs great, looks great, and the ultrawide is a great setup. Definitely recommend this monitor for an entry level ultrawide gaming monitor that doesn’t cost a fortune.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Amazing I've been using this monitor with a Nvidia Titan Xp for about a week now and it's simply breathtaking. Such and incredible improvement over my 4-year-old previous set up. My panel has no dead pixels, and barely perceptible backlight bleed so I'm very satisfied. The colors are stunning on this monitor as well and the size and curve is incredibly immersive. I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Ultra-wide for PC Gaming I’m a proud PC gamer and I purchased the 34” LG 34UC89G-B for its gaming prowess, IPS panel, Gsync support and 2560x1080 resolution which I prefer for games. I’m very happy with it and was pleasantly surprised at the quality for a very reasonable price. I’ve been using the monitor about a month now. I have it paired with an Nvidia GTX 1080 TI using Gsync in all my games. The IPS panel on this monitor is beautiful, giving me great colors with no noticeable light bleed or dead pixels. As far as light-bleed goes, LG seems to have nailed it with this IPS panel. Of course, if I set completely black screen I can see a tiny bit of light at the edges but all LCD monitors have this to some extent and many are much worse. In gaming, working, web surfing I never notice any light bleed or discoloration. I have set the monitor refresh rate to 144hz but I use Gsync in games so refresh rate varies depending on framerate which works great and is really smooth down to the high 30’s fps where the Gysnc module stops varying refresh by design. Also, there is no noticeable motion blur when playing games even with Gsync on or at any framerate. I know the monitor may overclock to 160hz but I see no reason to do this so I haven’t tried it. The monitor has a little white joystick on the bottom of the panel for accessing the settings menu and it’s the best joystick/settings combo I’ve used in a monitor. I set the colors to the high 60’s, the brightness/contrast to the mid 50’s and then used Calibrize free utility to help me with a color calibration profile. There are many options in the settings and also gaming oriented settings; however, I just keep the gaming settings such as overdrive, gamma, etc at default as I think the monitor works great as it is but will have to play with them in the future. I really like the 2560x1080 21:9 ultra-wide resolution this monitor offers because it gives me higher frame rates with ultra-quality settings in games as opposed to lower FPS using higher ultra-wide resolutions (which can double the pixel count at the least) and I hope LG continues to support 2560x1080 in gaming monitors. It’s much easier for me to keep FPS in the high 80’s – 130’s in my games which I really like. The 1080p also means I am not as stressed to replace my GPU as often to keep games at High/Ultra details. Also, Dynamic Super resolution; which GeForce experience can set for you, is much easier on the GPU when calculated from this resolution as opposed to a higher native resolution. The ultra-wide gaming experience is awesome and most new titles support the resolution natively with correct aspect FOV; however, older titles may need mods or tweaks to get resolution support and/or correct aspect FOV, google searches will usually find them. However, if an older title is stubborn with ultra-wide support, you can still turn scaling off in Nvidia drivers and play the game in 16:9 with black bars on the side. The curve on this monitor is very comfortable and doesn’t seem exaggerated at all. The response time is very quick and I don’t notice any lag even in high FPS games like Call of Duty or Battlefield. The monitor was easy to assemble (attach the stand & cable guide) and is fairly light-weight for its size and doesn’t generate lots of heat. The bezels on the side are very thin which is a nice touch. The monitor can adjust vertical, swivel, angle and tilt very easily. I did have to provide a longer Display Port cable as the one provided would not reach my PC which is down on the floor to the side of my desk. The monitor is also a great experience for work and web surfing. The higher pixel pitch makes fonts easy to see and colors look great. As a software developer, I like being able to have my Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio in ultra-wide so I can see my code easily and also have other tabs open on the sides. I love this monitor as it is great for gaming, is a curved ultra-wide, supports Gsync, has a high-quality IPS panel and the 2560x1080 resolution is also less stressful on my GPU.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing value. All around a great product, love the refresh rate and g-sync is amazing. My one and only issue is a small color defect on the left side, it's slightly more yellow than the right. Cannot be noticed while gaming, and is only visible on a bright white screen, such as surfing web pages etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am in love with this monitor. The 21:9 aspect ratio, the 144hz and gsyc are amazing. I can't get enough. My biggest gripe is that my unit showed up here with a dead pixel and I have not heard back from LG about what to do next. I spent $700 on this monster and it has a dead pixel to get no help with this issue. This may be the last LG prodeuct I purchase due to the lack of support. I have an LG G6 phone that prettyuch sucked too and was hoping to see better with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Monitor I have owned First off I want to cover the issue people talk about with the response time of a 5ms GTG, for me even playing FPS I have zero problems getting the most enjoyment out of my games. With everything rocking ultra setting and 21:9 resolution the monitor just crushes it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great gaming experience

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME ULTRAWIDE! Never owned an ultrawide display before and was worried about compatability, but haven't had any issues and everything looks GREAT! I have this at home and now I want one at work! I never knew what I was missing! Quality = Hands down amazing! All my LG appliances are extremely reliable! Just plug them in and use them till technology advances past their point of relevancy; I'm talkin YEARS to DECADES without issues! .... and this one appears to be no exception!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game Changer I will admit that I didn't do a ton of research, but I needed an upgrade from my dual monitor setup. I read some reviews online and found this monitor recommended pretty widely, but the price was high. When I found it on sale for just over $600 I grabbed it and have never looked back. I've heard criticism of the "mere" 2560x1080 resolution, but it looks beautiful. The curve is subtle, but the perfect enhancement for gaming, and pretty necessary for any monitor this wide. It has improved my workspace and my gaming experience more than I can say. The monitor arrived in perfect condition, and I can't find a dead pixel anywhere (another review nag I'd heard. So mine might not be the deepest review, but if you're coming from a similar scenario, you will NOT regret this purchase. I took for granted how much my screen was inhibiting my experience. It is a bigger improvement than I had anticipated. The G-Sync feature is making a marked improvement even with my 8-year-old rig and upgraded GTX 1060.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meh 5ms response time is just too high for me to be interested when I currently have a monitor with a 1ms response time. You're also going to want to take into consideration you need a pretty good GPU setup in order to use this monitor to it's fullest extent. If you play games like PUBG regularly, do not buy this unless you've got at least one 1080ti to make it worth your while. Otherwise you'll just be losing insane amounts of frames and playing your game in a small window (in comparison to the size of the monitor) to maximize the frames you'll be able reach. However, if you're not really into GPU heavy shooters, or like games similar to Nier Automata or Metro: Last Light, this monitor is not a bad deal. But in all honesty, I'd spend a little extra money and get a 4k if that's what you're in to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High five LG! I have had my eye on this monitor for weeks now and I finally dropped the cash on one (Not lucky enough to be one of the YouTubers who got given them! and I am so happy that I did. The only worry I had with this monitor was the resolution but I comfortably can say that it isn't an issue. I even sold my 4K LG27UD88-W to put towards this so it was a big drop in resolution.  This display is clean looking, colourful and fast. I had never experienced ultrawide, G-Sync or a refresh rate faster than 60Hz and I have been blown away by how good these features are. All the games I play are 21:9 supported and my 980Ti is running them on ultra settings between 90 and 100FPS. Had the resolution been 2560x1440 it would have been difficult to get frame rates as high and all the competing monitors at that resolution look ugly/gamery, have terrible quality control issues and are pricey in Australia. Even browsing the internet and watching 21:9 video content is good on this, the extra screen space is so nice to have. I have used dual set ups before and it is so nice to not have the bezel between them. I honestly could go on and on about how much I enjoy using this monitor. For anyone who is concerned about the resolution, don't be. If you have huge amounts of cash to burn for a system (and the monitor) that can run a higher resolution at higher refresh rates then it might not be the right choice. But for anyone who isn't in that tier, build your PC around this monitor. It is amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Was great, but failing in 5 months Looks great, deep color. But I have a black horizontal line going across 3/4 of screen at 5 months. For most expensive monitor I ever bought, I'm disappointed it doesn't last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! With GSync, 144Hz refresh, lots of ergo adjustments available, and presets that actually look good, this one runs circles around any other ultrawide I’ve looked at. If I have to have a complaint, it’s that I wish they didn’t use the red trim, but since it’s all in the back it won’t be noticed. Probably the best compliment I can offer is that I already have a number of gaming friends that now want this one, as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from UltraWide = UltraAwesome Pros: Best gaming experience I have had so far and most expensive monitor. Large work area for productivity Comes with screen display management software for space management Cons: Price due to g-sync. The Curvature is subtle, almost unnoticeable, it could be a bigger curvature angle and be more immersive

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great picture. This has a great picture and very good response time. The screen tilts, but doesn't rise or lower. My biggest fault is that the screen shakes with any movement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Curve screen I like the wider screen view, don't see any benifit from a curved screen though. The draw back that i experience is that the display is stretched to the point of distortion when in full screen mode, it deceives perspective view.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent gaming monitor Ascended this Christmas and bought this monitor. No dead pixels, no scratches, perfect picture, including colors, blacklight bleed in the corners is very minimal. The 144hz works out of the box and is very noticeable coming from 60hz. I'd recommend anyone interested in a new ultrawide to check this one out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely OverPriced for a 1080p G-Sync Monitor The design is far much better then most the rivals trapped in the Transformers look-a-like "Gaming" stuff. Red accents & Edgy esthetics is a little childish, could be more mature, simple and less-gaming. LG needs to work on "Minimalism" more ! Although the stand design is very nice one, depth of the monitor with stand; 11" (28cm) is too much, occupying half of my desk... IPS Glow is there which is very disturbing at dark scenes... An issue needs to be solved immediately ! G-Sync is nice but the "G-Sync Tax" is unacceptable. It costs 1.5 times more than the same spec FreeSync brother... At this price range 2560x1080 resolution is way too low. Either the resolution should be 3440x1440 or the model priced accordingly to the 10 yrs old 1080p resolution. No, I won't recommend this monitor at this current price range !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The colors are spectacular I always stayed away from non-TN panels because I thought they wouldn't offer the performance I wanted. This monitor delivers in both departments. Use the black stabilizer in games, like Destiny 2, PUBG, Fortnite or Gears of War 4. You will love it. The colors look great and the high refresh rate is amazing!
