Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed that LG discontinued the Model. I've got 4,000+ hours on my monitor with no issues. I'm blessed. I went from three 27 inch monitors to one 42.5 in monitor to do the same work. It's amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of pixels and great features! I was looking for more screen real estate and this monitor fit the bill. The laptop from my employer drives it at the full 3840x2160 resolution, so I'm able to have many windows open on the screen and work more productively. My personal laptop only drives it to 2560x1440, but that actually works out great because it makes verything on screen a bit bigger after a long day's work staring at the screen. I haven't used the advanced input controls yet, but it's nice to have them available if/when I need them. Had an issue with some dead pixels shortly after the warranty expired, ad LG stood behind their product and sent someone out to replace the screen free of charge!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big and Beautiful This is a great alternative to a dual screen setup. Excellent screen real estate for productivity and doubles as a worthy a tv set with 4k picture. The multiple HDMI ports with PIP makes it simple to multitask as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great performance and low energy consumption I had to move my Apple monitor elsewhere so was looking for an economical replacement. My expectations were low, but this monitor easily exceeds them. It's big and clear with little glare, and I love the split screen feature. I used a shade on my previous monitor, but this one is fine without it. Most importantly, it only uses around 50 W, so thanks LG for lowering my carbon footprint! I do a lot of video conferencing, so I only wish it had a built-in camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Concept but not 100% out of the box I purchased this monitor a few weeks ago as an external display for my imac Pro and media display in my master bedroom. Until last week I was using only the USB-C and Displayport connections to my Imac Pro and Macbook Pro laptop, which work without issue. Very happy with the picture and feature set in this short time. However, last week I got around to hooking up my AV media components and discovered none of the monitor HDMI ports work (I have been through all the different cable and monitor setting changes and it is clear the unit is defective). LG opened a repair ticket and I have been waiting for almost a week for a return shipping label to ship the unit back to LG. This monitor is generally only sold online so I don't have any bricks and mortar purchase location to return it to so I have no choice but to wait. I am very frustrated. Unit is sitting in box ready to ship out. I have a new LG 43 inch UM7300 PUA UHD TV I purchased in the interim (need it for another room in the future) and am using it as a monitor and AV media display now. All the hdmi ports on the TV work great out of the box but the TV does not look as sharp or quick as the monitor did when used with my computers but that is to be expected. The TV also requires underscanning adjustments for use as a PC monitor and of course no PIP split screen options like the 43UD79. I also find the TV UI much more annoying. Still, I think the TV is a good option at half the cost for someone who only occasionally needs a large secondary PC display. I am hoping my monitor is repaired in short order but it not looking good now in terms of LG customer service. My fear is that the big connection feature set is not 100% in terms of reliability based on my experience and some other comments online. Maybe the new 2020 refresh model (the 43UN700) will solve some of these connectivity gremlins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A truly large monitor with 4K definition This is not a "dumbed down tv" (or a smartened up tv) -- this is a high performance monitor. It is visually stunning and can easily overwhelm the eyes if sitting too close (due to the "height" of this monitor compared to a "standard wide-screen." I replaced two 23" wide-screen ACER HD monitors with this single 43" netting an increase of about 30% viewing area (my estimate). It was easy for me to have confidence in this LG monitor, as I have owned an LG 75" 4K TV for over two years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor I bought this with a Dell XPS Tower - 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9700 - GeForce GTX 1660 Ti video card. My wife and I wanted an ideal medium to view vacation photos and 4K movies from her new iPhone 11. We have it in the office right next to my 5K iMac, and I have to say it is a better viewing experience due to the vivid image, although the huge size does take some getting used to. Also, for movies with 60FPS, motion is VERY smooth. We have only had it for a few days, so I can't say anything about reliability or longevity, but LG products are usually pretty good. I also cannot say how it might work with other video cards and other computers, and we do NOT do gaming, so I cannot comment on how smooth motion might be for games. Set up was a piece of cake, and Display Port and HDMI cables were included. Overall this is an astounding value at $649.99 list price, and certainly a Christmas gift when Costco discounts it another $170!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG Monitor I have Macular Degeneration with very low vision. I purchased this 43 inch LG monitor so I can continue using my computer and honestly say that it fits the need. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had multiple ones, flicker and die. The company I work at purchased 4 of these monitors. Out of the 4, 2 died within less than 2 years. The monitors start to flicker and the frequency of the flickering increases over time. Another monitor (the third) had a grey line going through the screen. LG gave me a hard time returning it, saying that the warranty does not apply unless you buy it from one of their authorized centers. Complete run around as one person in one department offered to exchange it, while another person at LG would not. Had to return it though CDW. Not impressed at all with LG monitors. Poor customer service, and poor product. I have other monitors that last a solid 20 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great display, but mine has some problems The display itself looks nice! The size is perfect for 4k, and doesn't require Windows scaling at all. Of course the 4k screen real estate really makes things productive in use. I do have some problems with mine as shipped from Beach Camera (great deal!). The problems aren't theirs as this isn't a refurb, and the box was factory sealed. 1). The audio amplifier or speakers are shot. Staticy at any volume level by way of HDMI or DisplayPort. Dunno what happened, but it happened at the factory. 2). At seemingly random times, the monitor will black out for two to three seconds. This doesn't happen often, but still, it seems to be several times a day. I am downloading the software so that I can see if this is fixed in a firmware update. Provided that mine was just bad luck of the draw, I would recommend this monitor to my family and friends. As for the speakers, that isn't too big an issue, as my motherboard has some rather high end audio on it, and I patch that direct to my stereo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, you DO want this TV-sized monitor After installing this monitor, I was questioning whether I made the right choice buying this thing, because it's size made it look just ridiculous on my desk. Nevertheless, the first thing I did post installation, was that I downloaded Planet Earth 2 in 4K. I sat down on my couch facing the desk, my b0ng in hand, packed and ready to go. I played the first episode... ...This thing is worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. I paid for it...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely . . . No Regrets I bought this 4K monitor 1.5 months ago. In anticipation, I hooked it up to my 2015 MacBook Pro and my work PC laptop. I was taken aback by the spectacular display, the sheer functionality and flexibility provided. Why two screens if one does the job?! I can split the screen in so many ways! And I've only touched 50% of its true capability!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor but I'd like it better with a curve! This is a great monitor but it's not exempt from certain flaws, the most annoying one being lack of visibility for the left and right edge pixels when sitting close to the screen, you literally have to sit 3+ feet away in order to see them. Such flaw could be solved easily if this monitor was curved and at 43" in size it would definitely make it more attractive and certainly more useful. The speakers could also be of better quality because they sound pretty flat even though they are advertised as having rich bass. Given the size of the monitor it becomes really hard to plug things in the back if there's no room to go behind, I believe it could have all the connectors in a more accessible location like the sides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything is great except annoying ticking noise I bought this monitor 1 week ago and I had to request the seller for an exchange due to the ticking noise from the back of the monitor. It works fine when I plug it into my MacBook Pro but when it is in standby mode, it makes a constantly ticking noise which is very annoying. I tried to remove all the cables that I have (USB-C, HDMI) except the power cord but it doesn't help. Unfortunately, the second monitor I received also has this problem. This is so sad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product (When It Works), For a Great Price We got a bunch of these at work for our software engineering team. I enjoyed using it so much, I bought one for my home office. Unfortunately the one I got has an electrical defect causing it to short out (loses electrical power) for durations between 3 and 15 seconds. Sometimes it even cuts out and won't turn back on until I unplug it from the wall and plug it back in. I opened a support ticket with LG and long story short it's been over 3 months and I still have the defective product (and no replacement). The customer service process has been pretty horrendous, as you can imagine. Poor communication and follow up, and lots of non-solutions. I even sent in my unit to be repaired by LG, and when they returned it as being fixed, it still had the same issue. Granted none of the same models we have at my company have this problem, so I'd say you're taking a low risk gamble by buying one of these. If you get one that isn't defective, you'll more than likely be very happy with your purchase. However, if you do get a defective unit, be prepared for a whole lot of headaches getting it fixed or replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great size, could handle multiple screens better The display is amazing and since you are buying it for the size it does not disappoint in that department. The remote control is a nice feature that I use daily. It would get 5 stars but the screen control software could be better in my opinion. When you use it it will automatically fill that screen with any application you put in it. While this can be useful for a lot of apps that you want enlarged to fill out that sace, it does not work for windows you want to keep small (ie skype or other messaging apps). Also, when you move an app into a screen it will also move te app that was already in that screen over to a blank screen, basically flipping the apps locations. Again, this can be useful at times but I do not see a way to turn off either of these settings, so, for now, have decided to not use the screen control software.

Much better input lag compared to standard 4K TVs. Cons: Only 43 inches. Wierd gradient edging on sides of display. Stand is pretty terrible. Inputs are very difficult to get to. (Should be on the side. IPS display will last longer then unreliable OLED tech. Could not get firmware updated due to USB-C port seemingly defective...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Picture What a great monitor, I am so happy I upgraded to this size. With a resolution of 2160 the print is a good size and pictures a crystal clear. I often have 2 browser windows open so I can work and watch some music videos at the same time. Great multitask monitor. Optional inputs and ease of use. I did not use the included stand because I would have lost about 10 inches of distance from me, I wanted the monitor as far away from me as possible so I bought a common flat screen wall mount and mounted it on the wall. But the problem was with the VESA mounting screw holes, they are recessed in this monitor so I had to build some special spacers to attach the mount. All in all I am very happy with this monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for price but with hiccups This monitor is what I imagined for years (you can connect 4 devices, PBP an PIP. product require installation for controller software (that was for PC only), came with unfriendly software CD, dead battery for remote and difficult to reach out to ports (HDMI; USB, DP); ports are not latest version and its heavy. It would have been nice if ports were in front, inclusion of universal TV tuner and WIFI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from USB ports on this monitor NOT WORKING!Unacceptable Like many, my USB hub in this LG 43UD79-B (i.e. the USB-3 ports are not functioning at all. I have tried 3 different different USB A to C cables, from two separate host machines, none of them recognize the hub (on the LG monitor) exists. This is really not acceptable. Why would a brand new monitor have non-functional ports? How would one resolve this? As the packaging of this monitor is inferior, i.e. not robust, it is not clear at all that these monitors would survive UPS shipping without damage. As my current unit seems to have no dead pixels or stuck pixels (i have not fully tested yet, very new monitor, but will test more carefully for dead pixels/stuck pixels soon), I hesitate to return it for a new unit. What happens if the replacement monitor has functioning USB ports but has dead pixels or stuck pixels! That's tantamount to one step forward and one step back!! The only way to resolve this is for LG to ship a replacement unit first, and then allow us to test it, and only then, have us send the defective unit back. While it is a lot of work, it will at least allow us no "down time" in terms of having no monitor. This is set up in an important set up and I cannot go without this monitor for a week or more while waiting for a replacement unit! I don't know if LG would send a replacement unit first, and then if the replacement unit is fully functional, then ask us to return our defective unit. Has anyone found a solution to fix this issue? Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Workstation-focused review Overall: This monitor is all about working space. There is no need to worry about everything looking small (unless your software rescales what it is showing you), unlike a 20-something inch 4k. Instead the large area means those pixels are spread out, so you get the same effect as roughly 4 monitors in one. With so many pixels, the most concerning negative aspect - outside unusable pixels, see below - is a minor point. Pros: Lots of pixels Painless setup with Win10 and Linux system With so many pixels, things don't look smaller - instead you gain real estate over a traditional monitor Speakers work well Remote very useful Input lag minimal / not noticeable for workstation use Brightness good Text and graphics are clear Enables better-than-expected usage of outside edge pixels (meaning the outside 3-4 inches, not the 5-10 pixels on the very outside edge, see below) Cons: Outside 5-10 pixels are unusable on all edges except top (they work, but you have to be directly in front of the edge to see them. On a 43" screen, you physically cannot sit in front of all edges. Typically, you will be situated about center of screen, which means the left, right, and bottom 10 or so pixels have an effect similar to looking clouded over or blacked out). No way to quickly alternate between current and last used input (the input selector is easy to use, but switching to the last input requires 3 different keys on the remote, or 4 movements on the joystick at the bottom of the monitor). A designated button for last input, or even double-clicking the existing input button, would be a great improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large screen for multitasking. I’ve been using this monitor for a couple on months and I am completely pleased with my purchase. Initially I had regretted my purchase for being a little too big, but once I started really working with it I have completely changed my view. The large 43inch work area is perfect for holding a number of screens that are completely viewable. The onscreen controls are super easy to use and makes some tasks even easier than before. The speakers are very good and provide a good amount of volume control. All around this is a great monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the color and features Pros: I own lots of monitors and TV. This LG monitor is one of the best. The color is exceptionally well calibrated and superb. The sound has good bass so I don't have to use an external speaker. Lots of pictures/source arrangements possible. Cons: Heavy. The display unit and especially the stand are heavy. Looking at the bright side, it is sturdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than I expected. Just pushed this monitor 4 weeks ago, but it has been in use every day sense then. The quality of image displayed is the best I have ever used. The ability to adjust the displays image is not only easy there are more ways make adjustments, than I have seen before, on a monitor. An example of this in adjusting the displays brightness for different lighting conditions. There is a Brightness control on the displays remote right next to the Volume control and as easy to use. As easy to use as the Volume Control on any TV. Also, when you are making an adjustment Volume or Brightness there is scale that, that shows you your current setting and changes as you make the adjust, this is displayed across the bottom of the screen. Another nice feature is the monitor has the ability automatically upgrade its Firmware and requires nothing from you other than clicking "OK" when monitor asks to do it. If firmware needs upgrade, each time you turn it on you will be asked to approve the upgrade of firmware. Not much more I can say, just that it is the best monitor I have ever owned. Have had to contact company support and the are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect 4K Display Overall quality of this huge monitor is excellent. At 43", it provides the best of all worlds -- for office-based duties to streaming 4K TV-quality and above still and moving images (pictures and videos) with zero degradation whatsoever. Previously, I was using a 23" monitor and my neck was in constant pain from craning forward. That issue is now in the past when I look up at my new theater-sized desktop PC TV!! Even though it is a 3-year old model, LG's state-of-the-art technology is still on par with the latest versions for 2018 and beyond. Very impressive to say the least. LG is #1 in my book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best display I've had so far. So I have had this monitor for a month and I must say that it is AMAZING. At first it took a while to get used to because it is so much bigger than most displays that people have. Before, I had an average sized monitor so it took awhile to get used to. The monitor has crystal clear 4K with videos and for gaming. The games look amazingly detailed and with such a big size it is greatly immersive. I have had different LG monitors for 10 years now and they never fail or have any defects. LG products are more affordable while still delivering the top quality that you want. If you want this monitor for gaming or for productive work, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb monitor for an expanded work-space. Bought this monitor about a month ago and could not be any happier. The amount of features, color precision and versatility are what drove my decision into this purchase. I personally use it for graphics and video editing so the ability to have a large desktop space is a huge plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase decision Bought just before Christmas 2018, my old monitor was failing. I wanted something to make photo and video editing easier. Also found out my 8 year old computer did not have the capacity to take advantage of the 43UD79-B's resolution. I am confident that after I set up the new computer my rating will go to a 5. Seems big for the first week then after that you cannot imagine going back. Great color, brightness, sharp images

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best monitor I've used! I work from home using a number of different creative and business apps, and run a film production company on the side, which requires a portion of my time on the screen for editing. I was using a MacBook Pro connected to 32 in. screen, before that a 27 in. iMac, and this monitor beats them all. It works seamlessly with my MBP (I'm able to connect it and keep it shut, using a wireless keyboard and trackpad, connect my monitor speakers directly to the monitor, and it always just works - brilliantly). The display is bright, HUGE, and color correct, which was one of the other reasons I purchased it - more accurate colors for color correcting footage. Before purchasing it, I wondered if 43 inches would be too big but now that I have it, it's perfect, HUGE, but perfect. It's like having 2 or 3 large monitors in one—there's room for all my windows and apps and some to spare. If you're wondering whether or not to purchase it—don't think about it. Just buy it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PIP Mode and Full Screen have bugs I love the size and usability with this monitor, but there is one major flaw that I've discovered. If you are in 4 screen PIP Mode and full screen any of the inputs, the upper left input becomes the same input as the one that was fullscreened. This is a major bug due to me needing to go back into the settings and readjust them in order to use my monitor as it was intended. The sides of the screen also are inset and cause the edge of the screen to blend into bezel which causes pixels to be missing from all 4 edges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good - but poor documentation and support I just bought this monitor to replace a dual monitor setup because I only have 1 HDMI port (using laptop as desktop replacement). It's only been a few days, and I'm definitely keeping it. However, it's been a struggle to get things working the way I would like... and the biggest problem is the support and documentation. Pros: (same as most others) Size Inputs Great Picture Good Sound Cons: Cannot do Audio out of both speakers and headphone jack. Would be very nice to hook up additional speakers to such a nice monitor. Documentation not great - especially for this premium product Support - they don't have very good knowledge My biggest struggles - but was able to finally make it work so I will share how with those who may want to know: LG Dual Controller Problem: Could not get it to work with my 2 (windows) laptops I have. It would not recognize each other even though they were on same network. After trying different things I called LG support line. They said it could not be done between 2 HDMI inputs. One had to be a Displayport or a different type of input. I told them that the documentation did not state that, and asked if it would be enhanced in the future. They said no, that's the way it is. Well -- they were wrong! It does work between 2 HDMI inputs (regardless of which ones)! So, after I ordered a wireless keyboard/mouse to control the separate pcs, and then ordering a displayport/hdmi adapter to try that out, I finally figured out what the SIMPLE problem was! I had both signed in as Main PC (which I told support that both were showing as main.) Once I changed one to Sub PC, they work! So - for those who are struggling with Dual Controller (which is now working wonderfully), ensure these conditions: 1. Update to latest Dual Controller Version (current is 2.35) 2. Install on both PCS -- set only 1 as Main, the other(s) as Sub 3. Ensure both on same network 4. Put Display into PBP/PIP mode (on remote) to show both) 5. Both should see each other's IP addresses. I can now use 1 keyboard and 1 mouse to control both PCs and go easily between the windows. Very good! Sound out of both Monitor and Speakers Problem: Wanted sound out of both monitor and external speakers. This monitor does not have a setting to allow for both. Workaround: I found (on windows) a software call Voicemeeter. It works great in plugging in the speakers into the PC and have both Monitor and speakers play at same time. At first, the delay was terrible, but after tweeking the buffering, it now works very good. I hope that LG updates their documentation and support. And I hope this monitor will work out well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Monitor I purchased this monitor for productivity and it's exactly what I needed. There are plenty of IO ports and it allows me to run my laptops/desktop/Xbox simultaneously. There are two minor flaws to consider if you're looking to purchase this. 1. There is a bit of ghosting around the edges. It doesn't bother me because it's so minor, but it's just something to be aware of. 2. When playing on my Xbox One X, with the 4K settings on and the fastest framerate the monitor can handle, the screen will go black and eventually the sound will cut out. This forces me to turn off the monitor and turn it back on to resume playing. Perhaps this is user error on my part and there is something in the settings that is causing this, but I felt it needed to point it out since it does this without any configuration on the users part. Other than those two flaws, this is a great productivity monitor that has capable gaming features. Even with its minor flaws, I highly recommend this monitor for people in my situation who are looking for something for productivity with a bit of recreation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EVERYTHING WANTED, except ONE frustrating thing This monitor is EVERYTHING I've wanted and needed for my editing system, but I keep having one problem that's so frustrating... it'll just randomly BLINK BLACK... like turn off, but it's NOT disconnecting from my computer system. It's as if it's still ON, BUT it turns off and will turn back on eventually... it just happens and has been more and more frequent lately. AND it's been happening ever since the recent driver update (Feb 2019 too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor, easy to install, great quailty. I wanted 2 4k Monitors but this one avoided me to have to deal with arm and desk installation. The quality is great, I can use it as a single one and/or split it in up to 4 without dealing with split screen settings (the onScreen control application could be better and more flexible - LG should work on it). I admit that It is huge and you do need to stay at anywhere btw 60-90cm of distance, but in a day you get used to it. For side by side document processing it is a dream.installation is simple. I use a Thinkpad Docking station and the DP cable. Got immediately the 4k @60hz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this...whether working, playing, or both! I bought this through Costco as a more-manageable option to replace two side-by-side monitors. This monitor is easy to use and highly adaptable. It works well for standard home/work computer duties AND as a game pc monitor, media streamer, etc. The speakers are loud enough for me to hear over heavy rainstorms without me having to go anywhere near half max. Great monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Display! With 43 inches and a 4K UHD resolution the screen provides a stunningly rich and vibrant image. Pros: - 4K UHD Resolution - Moderately good speakers - Lots of I/O *** - Well built design/materials - Joystick menu buttons (under LG logo) Cons: - USB-C port is upstream only - Need USB-A to USB-C for updating firmware (Not Included in all Models) - 1 Year Warrenty All in all i am happy with my purchase and after some playing with my GPU settings i got and even better image.

The picture quality is spot on for the price. I am sure ther higher ends will have high features. Though for my use and light gaming its amazing. Productivity has increased and replaced 3 monitors to just 2. Currently I have another monitor stacked for emails and performance and entertainment, whole the big guy handles all office work although its nice to have another large screen for excel. Oh yeah with the 4k screen OMG excel rows and columns galore. :P over all clean look nice picture and great picture quality. Buy buy buy BUY!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from USB-C Display not working. Everything else great! Bought the monitor 2 weeks ago but It's not possible to connect my Macbook pro 2017 via USB-C in order to output video. Using HDMI is possible but that means moving to the dongle life which was the whole point of buying this monitor... to avoid this! Apart from this the display is great, sound above average and size just big enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Monitor for the Price Excellent monitor for a desk setup. I use the monitor for everyday stuff like surfing, email, videos and gaming. Make sure you have at least a 28" deep desk, or the larger screen may overwhelm you at a closer distance. This is the only "monitor" out there right now that has everything on my wishlist: Over 40" with 4K and a decent refresh rate w/Display Port setup. I haven't used the split screen much, but what I've seen works flawlessly, and the installation of the software was a breeze. Because of the overall statistics and versatility, this monitor may be the last one I buy for the PC for many years to come. Did I mention the outstanding price? Wow!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this monitor, but there is an issue.... I have had this monitor about a month and a half now, but am noticing a flicker from the panel. Now, this occurs in the middle of movies, games, etc, but its not constant or consistent. The flicker randomly occurs, and the screen will go black for about 3-5 seconds, then shows the work-space again. It is almost like the monitor is readjusting or you have just connected the monitor to the PC. Is there a firmware update to resolve this issue? I was not seeing any update using multiple USB-A to USB-C cables (two total using OnScreen Control v2.82). I am going to try one more USB cable later today.

According to the website which states: "USB Type-C Offering a new generation of convenience, USB Type-C ports allow 4K video display, data transfer and laptop/mobile device charging, all at the same time over a single cable". That implies that it will the laptop using the same cable to view the monitor. I talked with customer support today and they said that the USB-C port only puts out 3W.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice screen w/ misleading features BAD for Macs IF YOU HAVE A MAC DO NOT BUY THIS. What I wanted: a 4k monitor to use with my Macbook 12" retina. My desire was to have a 4k monitor connected via USB-C with one cable that would charge my Macbook and give USB3 speeds to hub connected peripherals. What I got: a 4k monitor connected via USB-C that provides only 7W of power to my Macbook (the Macbook takes 29W, so it drains the battery), a USB hub that shows up in my Macbook as USB2.0 limited to 480mb/s per second (disk speed testing shows actual speed ~34mb/s....outrageously slow and unusable). I raised these issues with LG support and they responded by simply restating their product claims and ignoring my documented issues. There was no desire on LG's part to resolve my problems or to seek a technical solution. DO NOT BUY.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my needs For a number of years now, I have had 2 monitors on my desk. I was looking for a better solution for a while, in comes the LG43UD79. For my needs, it's a great solution: desk space, 4K, PIP, 4 devices in to one space. I can also have multiple applications open at a decent size. If nothing else I mention attracts you, consider the price and size compare to other monitors on the marker. No device is perfect. If LG were to ask me for advice, I would want to see this monitor be a touch screen, more tilting flexibility and being able to resize PIP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value I didn't appreciate the sheer size until I had it on my desk. 43" is just a number until it's right in your face. This screen size will maximize the 4k detail like no other. I really appreciate how LG provides option for gaming response times. I expected one generic setting but the monitor offers 3 different settings. I am not expecting it to match a 120/144hz monitor but that's ok given the price. Truly worthy of purchase price so far. Thankfully no defective pixels for such a large screen. Well done LG!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A monitor for those who want maximum utility! I was looking for a monitor that would provide maximum utility and I found it with this LG model. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Monitor loses HDMI audio and video randomly I have had this monitor for a couple months now and I have run into an issue with using my xbox one x console with this monitor. My xbox died while connected to the monitor and seemed to have fried the HDMI Out port on the console. It is definitely the monitor because I bought another xbox (while the other xbox is sent back to microsoft) and it continues to lose either audio or video at random times. Also, I tested the HDMI cables to see whether they were bad and they were not. Swapping ports on the monitor seems to work temporarily but ultimately reverts back to the random audio/video loss. I would send it back but I don't have a box big enough to fit it in. The upside is that when the audio and video are working it is a great experience. I normally would praise LG products but, this is unacceptable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor - 1 Drawback For Mac Users One of the two best monitors I've ever used. An unbelievable amount of screen real estate with the ability to connect and display multiple devices on one screeen. There's a huge amount of ports available, including USB C. I love everything about this monitor with one exception. As a Mac user, the monitor does not deliver enough power to charge my 15" MBP (Late 2016). This would be the absolute perfect monitor if it could charge my laptop and one additional USB C would be welcomed. Besides that, what a great monitor. On a side note, the monitor was missing one fo the included cords. After a short online chat with LG customer service, I had the cable at my door in 3 days - thank you LG customer service! You can't really go wrong with this one, especially at the price point for a 43" 4k monitor!
