Rated 5 out of 5 by from Screen just broke after two years After two years and some change the monitor just broke. I just got back from a deployment and go to turn my pc on and it’s fine. A few hours later go back and the screen just flickers on and off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't buy Like others have mentioned this model is poorly designed (I hope, because the alternative is planned obsolescence) and there's an extremely high chance of a flex cable melting, causing at first faint horizontal grey lines, and then buzzing with major visual artifacts. Don't leave this monitor unattended. Major fire hazard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good, Before Defect Kicked In I have owned this monitor for just over two years. I was pleased with this monitor until it recently developed horizontal lines. I initially thought this to be a cable or driver issue, but after changing out cables & reinstalling drivers, I learned from internet research that this is a common issue with this monitor. This defect is disappointing, to say the least, given the price paid for this monitor at the time of purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad product quality - On-going issues Not happy with the product quality for the same reason as the majority of the users (horizontal scanlines/lines across the screen). Bought this monitor bit more than 2 years ago and had it repaired twice (once after around 3 months and another time after bit more than one year) already. That I have the same issue a third time now is a clear evidence that it is a product issue as such; repairs do not solve the issue. I wonder if there is anything which can be done do get it repaired, replaced or compensated. This simply shows the bad quality control of LG - should have never been sold with that issue. I suggest to refrain from buying this monitor and I personally will avoid any LG Monitors (or other brands using LG panels) in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dead at 3 years Like everyone else mine is dead with the horizontal line problem. It starts with a bunch of little grey lines running across your screen and ends with a completely dead screen. Mine lasted right around 3 years, which is a joke considering I have side monitors right next to it that are 10 years old and cost me a fraction of the price. Do a quick google search for "LG 34GK950F-B horizontal lines" and see how many results you get. Stay Away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very disappointed with the horizontal line bug Great monitor BUT the issue with horizontal lines is just unacceptable. The price point was way too high to tolerate such a technical failure just after 2000 hours and 3 yrs of moderate usage. I am disgusted with LG and definitely not buying their monitor until I get some feedback they had put some effort to eliminate such issues in the future...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Died At The 4 Year Mark I have enjoyed this product for 4 years, but today, it just died with the horizontal line issue and the display on the screen squished up to the to 1/8" of the screen. I would have expected more than 4 years from a monitor at this price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horizontal line defect, after 3 years of use. Monitor has been great up until this defect became visible, apparently after X amount of use, the monitor develops these black horizontal lines. Ultimately, it becomes more and more visible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dead screen following Horizontal lines issue Fantastic monitor when it was working. Great size, color, and features. I also really appreciated its design restraint in a time of "Gamer Monitors". About a few weeks outside of its year warranty, faint horizontal lines appeared. The lines eventually got worse until the screen is entirely black and unusable. Its now a completely unusable paperweight. TL:DR Please do not disregard the other reviews. This monitor has serious quality issues and should be avoided at all cost. Mine died after 13 months of ownership.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor All features are easy to use and the packaging was great. I've been using this monitor over a year and have had no defects. HDR and Freesync works well with my 5700xt. IPS colors look great, but my only gripe was the blacklight bleed seen on both sides along the bottom. After the first weekend this was no longer noticeable except in very dark scenes. Purchased another LG monitor for my wife based on my experience with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing monitor but don't expect it to last Unfortunately mine broke. Twice. Once a week after the warranty expired - still got it repaired under warranty but had to do without one for 6 weeks or so. A year later, constant horizontal flickering lines. This is just unacceptable, so sick of tech that's not built to last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Died right at the 2 year mark I bought my Monitor on Feb 22nd 2020 new from Microcenter. Overall it’s been pretty good, though I have had some issues with HDR and FreeSync. But recently I started gettimg the light gray scan lines like others have noted. For a monitor this expensive to die RIGHT after the warranty period is incredibly frustrating. I always thought LG was the “best” but I can’t say I’ll buy another LG display after this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor build quality The screen looks amazing but poor build quality. In the two years I have owned it, the screen has failed twice, each time costing almost full price for a new panel. I’m currently waiting for LG to get back to me on paying for the second repair. I’d buy another brand that has better quality panels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flashing Horizontal Lines Problem This display worked great for me for a little over a year before developing the flashing horizontal lines issue that is apparently commonplace for this model (caused by a malfunctioning panel part). It’s a shame really, as the monitor was quite nice while it lasted, which was just long enough to not qualify for LG’s 1 year warranty…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dying after 2 years Monitor one day started showing the horizontal lines everyone is talking about, made sure it was the monitor as the lines showed even with nothing plugged in except the power cable to rule out an issue with my GPU or Cables. Avoid this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Monitor until it started having issues When I bought this monitor in January 2020, i wanted the best monitor i could get. When i got it home it was definitely an upgrade however i started to notice little things like G-sync wouldn't work right and the HDR compatibility was spotty at best. Which in it's defense, windows is very finicky with HDR. But after 2 years, the monitor has now started to fail with horizontal scan lines at the bottom of the screen that are intermittent but are becoming more frequent. Since i am on borrowed time, ill be looking at other monitor manufacturers since they seem to be better quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Died at three years Worked OK for a while, never great HDR, but it was tolerable. Lots of glare due to matte finish. Ultimately it started to develop black "scanlines" and now it's completely glitching out and dying after three years. Do not recommend LG ultrawide.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute garbage This is an absolute garbage. I bought this on Amazon and right after their return period was closed, these horizontal lines started appearing. When I did more research it seems like this is a common problem with this generation monitors. Even the newer GP series monitors still seems to be susceptible to this. It seems the ribbon cables soldered on to the panel and controller boards are melting due to bad design and the only solution is to replace the entire panel. This will probably be my last LG purchase. I'll try to get this repaired under warranty but I'm not very hopeful. Stay away from their Ultragear range because even the newer monitors apparently still uses the same IPS panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Was great while it lasted. The monitor was great and did everything it advertised well (except the HDR). I wish it had more of a bezel (an odd thing to say nowadays), because I think the monitor would still be working today if it had one. The only reason the monitor no longer works is really my fault, my cat decided to bite the edge of the screen and the screen had various issues afterwards. Everything was great until that happened so well done LG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Failed after warranty expire I bought this about a year ago. works great, display great quality images. Love the monitor too!! But once the line show up, it just went down hill from there. Man!! should of bought the extended warranty when I had the chance. Really regretting it now. My monitor from 5 years ago still works, 60hz, TN panel, and 1080p. I had to resort to going back and hurts me seeing how poorly the images are..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Panel failed after just over 2 years I figured I'd spend some extra money on a 'nice' display that would hopefully last me 5yrs or more. This monitor was beautiful and checked all the boxes for me until I suddenly started getting 'the horizontal line failure' after a little over 2 years of use. I'm out of the warranty period and will likely need to pay for repairs out of pocket but need a display asap so I'll be purchasing another brand instead of repairing this unit. Do a quick google search for 34GK950F-B line failure, don't buy this panel and save yourself the headache.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor while it worked Bought in late July 2019 and the monitor has now stopped working. Started with horizontal lines and now scrambled picture. Confirmed with another monitor it isn't my video card. Last monitor I had lasted 8 years and was still running great when I gave it away. Features and picture quality were too notch while it worked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horizontal lines I got this monitor several months ago and horizontal lines started appearing on the left side of the screen. Then recently I turned the screen on and the horizontal lines were everywhere and the monitor is unusable. After searching online I see that this is a common issue with this monitor apparently coming from the ribbon cable that is defective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG does not stand behind their product. LG has successfully turned my hard earned money into 30lbs of e-waste in less than 3 years. One of the ribbon cables inside the monitor caught fire (apparently a known QC issue with this monitor). Now there are horizontal lines going across the panel making it unusable. I tried to contact them to see if they could help me out, since I paid a small fortune for this fire hazard. Lesson learned. I will be doing my business with companies that stand by their products from now on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Was a great monitor until it broke for no reason… I was adjusting the monitor tilt extremely gently last week as I have done frequently and the monitor was completely fine with no issues. I then went to go answer the door and when I returned the monitor had a huge grey bar down the middle ! I am now just outside of warranty (very convenient timing for LG to make their products last) and so I am better off buying a new monitor than fixing it and need to do this asap as I need it for work. Very disappointing, life’s not good when you buy from LG

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Monitor is failing after 3 years of moderate use! Absolutely unacceptable that a high end monitor with such a high price tag could start failing after just 3 years of moderate use. I bought this monitor in 2020 and as of January 2023 my monitor has started to show horizontal lines across the entire screen. After doing some searching online and having read the reviews here it appears to be a common panel issue with their monitor. I reached out to LG about the issue despite being outside the warranty and they expected me to pay hundereds of ££, almost half of what I originally paid for the monitor for it to get sent off to be looked at. Obviously there was no way I was going to do that as there's no grauntee it won't happen again and if I'm going to spend silly amounts of money on a repair I might aswell go and buy a new one! My advice to anyone considering buying this monitor is to not bother, you'll just be wasting your money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awful Monitor and Service when the monitor worked it was a great product. then, just outside the 2 year warranty (which is less than the standard offered by alternative suppliers) the monitor died with the classic scan-line, horizontal line issue. no picture is displayed. and LG no longer offer any repair service themselves outside of warranty. so you've effectively bought an expensive paperweight. this is a well known issue with this monitor now! but wasnt when I bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG has lost my trust in them When I got the monitor it was beautiful. The colors were vivid and had everything I wanting in a monitor for gaming and work. It was great for about a little over 2 years. Then the horizontal lines showed up. It would self correct after a few minutes. It did that for about a year. Then one day the horizontal lines got ready bad and it did not self correct. The screen is not usable anymore. It is now just a very expensive paper weight. When you buy something this pricey you expect it to last for a long time. I'm so disappointed with LG. It was my go to company for good products. But after this monitor and a cell phone I had of theirs. I can not trust that I will get a good product that will last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great picture and gaming experience! Really happy with my purchase of this monitor. This was my first ultra-wide and I was afraid it wouldn't keep up with the games that I play. With 120hz refresh rate and Adaptive sync that works with G-sync I've enjoyed my experience. The one knock was how the display went bad after a couple months and I had to send it in for service. The customer service to get there was great but I was bummed I couldn't be sent a replacement in the meantime and was left with no monitor. Additionally this fix took over a month so I was waiting for quite some time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome monitor I’ve been loving this monitor since the day I got it, so much that I have two side by side and thinking on getting another one to put it on top (overkill? picture quality is really good and backlight bleeding is not perfect but the best I’ve seen for a panel this big and IPS. The control to mess with settings with the little nipple joystick is the best. Gaming experience is great at 144hz and GSync compatibility is a nice touch (not GSync fully supported though)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Most Honest Review Why is this my most honest review, because I have went through at least 3 of these same monitor within 1 year. And why I gave it 3 star.... Note: This monitor has a record of 4043 Hours put into it. Pros: - Does about everything that is advertised for. Also has HDR effect preset which is nice to use for non HDR content. Makes everything look really nice in color contrast. If you have a Nvidia card and enable Gsync, it can use Freesync VRR on this monitor. The monitor looks nice and slim. Cons: - The VRR on this monitor works okay, but I must say that the Gsync version (34GK950G-B) does it better. I have tried both monitor and noticed that this one has slightly micro stutter from time to time compared to the (34GK950G-B) which is completely smooth and flawless. The only difference is that this one has 144hz and the (34GK950G-B) is 120hz, which is hardly noticeable. I kept this one because it supports HDR and has HDR preset. - Panel feels cheap and extremely prone to damage. Within 1 year, I have went through at least a 3 monitor. The 1st one I had started to flicker after only 200-300 hours of use. The 2nd one I received it with a damaged panel. The 3rd one also later produced a defected Display Port. So as you can see, this monitor is quite prone to some defect and damages during delivery. Also, wait time for repairs can extend up to 3 months (this was in 2019 and way before pandemic even started...). I still somewhat recommend it because of the HDR support and 144hz and the VRR can be use by Nvidia cards. But for quality, I don't really recommend it at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A hassle to fix Had this monitor for almost a year now and it's been a rocky road. Out of the box this thing was amazing, however I started running into an issue with the black level of the monitor. Go ahead, Google "black level crush issue LG 34GK950F-B" and you'll see what I mean. Besides that, pretty good start as an ultrawide monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really excellent monitor, when it works. Originally bought this monitor in April 2020 and in December it suddenly developed a pillar of dead pixels. This was alarming and frustrating because I use this monitor heavily for working from home during the pandemic. I called in the issue on December 24th, received a shipping label on January 3rd, shipped it out for repair by the 5th, and got it back on the 19th. While being without it for almost a month was frustrating, I do appreciate LG honoring their warranty. I appreciate this monitor for its flexibility as a gaming monitor with super fast response (and no logo on the bezel), and also as an office monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good monitor, too bad it defected after two days. I ended up returning the monitor because after two days of having it grey horizontal lines appeared across the entire screen. Other than that issue, the monitor was pretty good and functioned properly. Make sure to keep everything it comes with in case any problems arise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple looking, Dynamic performance Let's skip the performance part because it already has everything (IPS Panel, 120hz, 1440p, Ultrawide Ratio...) I mean it's LG, you can't beat LG on display. If you care about minimalistic design, this monitor is a must. It has no logo on the monitor itself (There is one at the stock stand but I replaced it with a monitor arm) The reason I'm not upgrading to the newer model (GL/GN models?) is that they have LG logo on the bezel with new models. This one has the best design in my opinion. Also the rear RGB is huge aesthetic point. (I just wish it turns off when the display turns off too) Only one major improvement LG can make for the future model from this model is making a flat version, not curved. Anyway, if you are building a minimalist themed gaming set up like me, 34GK950G-B is a must.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faint vertical transparent lines under panning mov The monitor is gorgeous apart from the vertical transparent lines under panning movement It's like distortion or vertical banding. I found that other people experience the same issue. To be more exact this issue occurs while playing FIFA where the movement of the ball is horizontal. Under other circumstances it's not visible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Likely the best GSYNC monitor in this class I have been using this monitor about 9 months now, and it has been wonderful. The colors are fabulous on this IPS monitor. I couldn't be more satisfied with the look and performance. GSYNC works perfectly, even though you have to install a firmware update on the monitor to make it work. That's easily performed through an installed application in Windows. The ultrawide allows me to see to the sides better in games, which has helped me win matches. I will never go back to 16:9 ratio. The 144 Hz refresh is the icing on the cake for this monitor. It's kicks butt gaming with a EVGA 2080Ti.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb bargain I was in the market for an LG 34GN850, the successor to this monitor, but I got my 34GK950 for a price so stellar that I couldn't resist it. I have no buyer's remorse. The only con is minor, and I was aware of it before I bought it -- no speakers. For my purposes, monitor speakers would have been more than sufficient and would've saved me from having to clutter my desk with external speakers or headphones. Other than that, there are no cons that I've discovered. I have no dead pixels, and I've noticed literally no light bleed; the LED illumination seems too uniform to be true. The OSD is easy to use via both the joystick and software. FreeSync 2 works well with my Nvidia GPU. The stand doesn't hog desk space, and the height adjustment is smooth, easy, and holds like glue. The USB hub is a nice convenience. The headphone jack is, too, but it should be on the front or side panel rather than the on the rear of the monitor. Lastly, while some users have groused about the lack of useless whizbang external LED lighting, I, personally, am very grateful to LG for omitting that annoyance. I couldn't be happier with this monitor. It may someday give way to an ultrawide 4K, but for the next several years, I'll remain overjoyed to have it.

Now ~ May 24 2020 static horizontal bands appeared on the screen (almost like an interlacing effect), which got even worse when I lowered the refresh rate below 144Hz. Unfortunately it was just a few days out of warranty. Otherwise has been a good monitor but I intended to use this for much longer than a year. I have contacted LG and it's possible I'll get a one time repair. Will update this when I get a response.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 34 " Curved Monitor I only got this monitor a few weeks ago since it was on back order. I have to say I could not be happier. It was boxed very well. No parts were missing and the set up was easy. If one follows the instructions that came with the monitor, and uses the cables provided, it's child's play. Once all the needed cables were plugged in, a pop up window on the screen informed me about the available update. (Which I did right away I have not found one dead pixel so far. The stand seems a little flimsy first , but once everything is assembled, its more than enough to support the monitor. The stand is adjustable up and down and you can swivel the monitor from left to right. Just make sure you have enough space around it and are able to sit far enough away from it. I will install a desk mount to get further away from the screen. The handbook for the monitor can be found on LG's website, and can be downloaded. I would recommend reading it, since this monitor has a variety of functions and settings. I am not new to the 34' screen size but I am very happy with the performance and look of this GK950F from LG. B&H did a fantastic job of updating me on the availability of the monitor and the shipping was fast and worry free as usual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely broken in less than 2 years When I first got this, it had some serious IPS glow and light bleed in the corners. Eventually my brain stopped noticing it, but it wasn't great. Then, about 22 months after purchasing it, the display started showing lines across it, then eventually the panel broke right in the center at the bottom. It sat on a monitor arm its entire life, never fell over, never had pressure put on it in weird ways.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks Great - But Experienced a Serious Issue I bought this product in November of 2020. As soon as I got the monitor, I was blown away by the great colors, fast refresh rates, intuitive settings, and overall feel. Unfortunately, after only 2 months of use, a permanent black line appeared overnight on the monitor's screen. I changed the cables, tried different inputs, switched from PC to a laptop and the line stayed there. For the price, I expected a higher quality of manufacturing from the product instead of having it break after such a short time of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recent panel failure I'm really happy with the monitor and how the warranty repair is going so far. Up until the panel failed its been a great monitor. The extra horizontal space really makes a big difference when your working from home. Having 3 tabs side by side is awesome! The gaming feature are good also. The HDR 400 makes the colors really washed out so don't buy this monitor for the HDR. Get it for the resolution and refresh rate, that's where it shines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unrestricted field of vision until 6 months time I bought this in October 2020 and was thrilled by the upgrade in working and gaming space, clarity, and experience. However, during my 6th month of ownership, I was editing a word document and the screen blinked... a 1" vertical bar appeared accompanied by several horizontal bars at the base of the screen. After exhausting all troubleshooting options, the issue was unresolved and I had to ship it in to be repaired. I am worried that the issue will not be ameliorated and I will be issued a refund and left without a monitor during a time when successfully ordering a replacement is slim to none...especially after building my own PC that is currently inoperable without a monitor. Hopefully, this issue is a rare and isolated event because I do believe this monitor is fantastic!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor! Quality hiccup, but great service. I bought this last year to upgrade my monitor for the pandemic. The quality and features are amazing! However, I had a small problem after 8 months with dead lines on the screen. Going through the warranty repair process was painless and pleasant and I have my fantastic monitor back up and working. Would purchase again in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Landscape! I bought this monitor over a month ago and love it! I upgraded from a 1440p 27" Dell that I had used for years. All I can say is that I'm so glad I finally made the decision and couldn't be happpier with my LG! Arrived with no dead pixels, setup was a breeze, and the options are easy to use with a very intuitive UI. Fantastic monitor for gaming and movies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Ultrawide! I started my ultrawide experience a couple of years ago with the Acer X34. I later tried the Asus 34" ROG ultrawide but had to return it. It wasn't any better than the Acer. Last year I tried both the new MSI and the Alienware 34 Ultrawide. Both of them the screen clarity and quality of the picture was worse than my X34. Super disapointed with them. In my endless quest to find a monitor with less ghosting and higher refresh rate led me to this monitor. Stock out of the box is 10x better than any other monitor I have tried yet. The color is better, it's smoother and much easier on the eyes. I love the user interface as well! I have noticed some interesting artifacts on some movies but a few adjustments and it was good again. This is a great monitor, you will love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Size is great, speed is great, glow is ridiculous At this price point (or any really), getting a monitor where 1/2 the screen has excessive light glow is pathetic. Waiting for the second year to start on the credit card extended warranty so I can get the money back and go shop for another brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall fantastic performance and features I bought a new gaming PC that is running a very fast processor and video card. Overall the monitor is a great match with G-Sync and the 144Hz performance. I did think this unit had RGB lighting on the back but it did not - that was a little disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Display Love the high refresh rate, resolution, and colors of the monitor. On a perfectly black screen you can see hot spots on the far corners, but gaming in dark environments I don't notice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An impressive & immersive upgrade !! After months of being on the fence with this monitor I finally made the purchase. I watched reviews Nov. 2018 & wanted this monitor from that point. In January I built a new pc & went to buy monitor only to find that retailers had jacked the prices up & in February they went up again. Out of spite I decided to wait. Probably the right decision but also the wrong as well. In July I noticed the prices were receding so I went ahead & made the purchase. I’ve had this now a couple weeks & I have to say that it’s everything I expected and then some. Only disappointment asides from pricing is the backlight bleed in lower & upper left corners(no dead pixels like others have claimed though)! But from what I’ve researched it’s the common gripe with ips displays. Not terribly noticeable in game unless it’s a really dark scene & you’re focused in on looking for it! That’s my only real complaint at this point. FreeSync works great with my EVGA RTX 2080 ftw3 ultra & resolution of display is just immersive to say the least! With that being said, there’s still my disappointment with price gauging from retailers & for the price I would’ve thought there’d be back lighting led. But all in all I love the product itself! At same time I’m writing this review I find out LG is releasing a 38” ultra wide......whatcha gonna do though? Always something new right around the corner anymore it seems! Gonna enjoy the LG34GK950f for now!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great color! This monitor really is nice. I got it over other 144Hz because of the better colors and yet high refresh rate and low latency. I like the colors, the brightness, the menu, the connector options, and even the curvature (which I didn't know if I'd like). The one part where LG can really improve is the warranty; 1 year is just to little.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful picture I’ve been waiting since last year to buy one of these babies. Much to my surprise, LG reduced the price by $400 to $799. I bought it then. And I’m very glad I did. The picture is wonderful! Bright and vivid on the Gamer 1 setting. Advanced FreeSync works great with Nvidia’s G-Sync. All-in-all a great, Nvidia-ready monitor in beautiful Ultra-wide form factor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best 21:9 monitor even though no GSYNC I’d been watching the price of this monitor ever since it was released. But a $1199, it was too steep a slope to climb. However, when it was reduced to $799, I HAD to buy it. The picture is beautiful, even without HDR. The Nvidia drivers recognize the monitor as GSYNC COMPATIBLE. And they are so right; no tearing or artifacts or WORSE using my EVGA RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Hybrid. I also have no dead pixels. LG has even sent out two firmware changes since I got it. I’m happy to finally have a 21:9 monitor and I’m doubly happy that the games look so good on it. A must-Buy for widescreen aficionados !!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Upgrade I had a 32" 1440p 144 monitor and I wanted a better viewing so I was looking for a 49". I ordered a 49" and found it to be to wide. Rated 5 out of 5 by from absolutly amazing I am normally a man of few words, and this time will be no different. this monitor is a complete game changer for me, before seeing this on my desk I had only done 60Hz monitors over the last 30 years, some of them have been rather high end, but 60Hz none the less. I have never had some a feature rich monitor of my own but I can never do without ever again. since Ive got back into gaming a good bit I found the need to give these new panels a try and all I can say about them is WOW.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect Ultrawide I am upgrading from an LG 34UC97 60hz,IPS panel. I have used the new LG 34GK950F-B for about 100 hours so far and have the following pro’s and cons: PRO’s -The 400 nit brightness panel might not be of much use for HDR but my god the brightness vs my old 34” IPS panel is stunning. -I was prepared to be underwhelmed with the NANO IPS panel as I already had a very good IPS panel. My god was I wrong, the colors are incredible. Not quite as good as my OLED or QLED tv’s but stellar vs a TN, VA or standard IPS panel. This alone was worth the upgrade. (Used a Color Munki Elite to adjust color) -The menu is greatly improved from my lg 34uc97 -The monitor is a LOT lighter than my 34uc97 -Even without using Freesync 2 as I haven’t managed to get a Radeon VII yet, the 144 hz panel is a night and day difference. No more screen tearing with Assassins Creed Odyssey! -I bought it new for $850.00 USD, at that price it’s a fantastic monitor IMO as it blows away the competition that all sit at around $800.00 USD -I find myself not wearing my blue light filter glasses when on this monitor late at night. There is just something about the panel that is better for late night gaming. CON’s -The HDR is literally useless, If HDR is a big deal for you there are FAR better monitors. None that have the other stats this one has overall but All the reviews that say HDR 400 is worthless are correct. -I don’t like that the cable ports fire straight out the back. It creates an eventual droop for the heavy headed display port cables -The power brick is HUGE… not a big deal but depending on your setup it might need to be velcrod on your desk or something. Gaming-As with my LG 34uc97 gaming on a 34” UW 21:9 curved monitor is a joy. Games with saturated or hyper color pallets look absolutely breathtaking on the Nano IPS panel (WOW, RIFT, Overwatch, SWTOR, Mass Effect Andromeda, Fortnite, Disney movies) Games with a more realistic color palette ( Assassins Creed Origins& Odyssey, Witcher 3, ESO, Battlefield, Hellblade: Senuas Sacrifice etc) are less impacted by the Nano IPS but the brightness and crispness the panel offers still improves the playing experience. There is no other ultra wide curve with the overall stats this one has. I made a spreadsheet comparing ALL of them including the 49” ones and none of them have all the tech this one has.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nearly perfect Gorgeous colors. 144hz + IPS + DCI-P3 + VRR is an amazing feature set and the LG 34GK950F-B delivers all of it! Shipped with zero dead or stuck pixels too! The only missing features I would like to see are under-monitor LED lighting like the acer x34 and true local dimming as defined by HDR standards. The DisplayPort cable that comes with the monitor isn't version 1.4 and can't support 144hz + 10bpp out of the box so you'll need to buy one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitive monitor This is exactly the monitor I've wanted since first getting heavily into PC gaming in early 2013. I've been playing on a 27 inch 1080 tv with a TN panel the whole time, always saying I wasn't gonna upgrade until there was an ultrawide 1440p monitor @144hz with an IPS panel, and later I also decided I wanted freesync support. Finally, 6 years later, I have the monitor I've always wanted, and I've gotta say, it's a monstrous upgrade from what I used to own. The colors are exceedingly vibrant, and even with the HDR being a very basic implementation it still makes a bit of difference in HDR content, only adding to the value proposition. Going from 1920x1080p to 3440x1440p is a massive increase in pixels of around 2.4X and it looks amazing in pretty much all games. Where previously I was using 4x AA in every game at minimum and 8x when available, now I either use 2x or turn it off completely. The only downside I can come up with to this monitor is that if you want to maintain that 144hz refresh rate in games, you're gonna have to turn settings down in a lot of newer games. I've got a gtx 1080 overclocked to around 1900mhz and I can maintain over 60fps in most games at high, but to hit over 100 I need to adjust an internal resolution scaler or turn down graphics settings. Regardless, the monitor itself is phenomenal, and I see it lasting me quite a few years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freesync works perfectly with my RTX 2080ti This was an upgrade from a 32in 1440p 32GK650F-B which also worked perfectly with nvidia cards. But the color to me is far more intense on this new screen. HDR is what it is, currently fairly useless in games IMHO. But he response time and input lag seem extremely low. 3440x1440 @ 144hz is awesome. I just wished there was a 38" version that does 3820x1600 @ 144hz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing quality control! I purchased it from Newegg, and I believe that I was one of the first customers of this particular monitor. In fact, it's the second monitor that I got, because I returned the first one and I was experiencing the same issue with it. The vertical strip appeared on the first week of using, and I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING AGAIN! LG! I was not expecting this from you! This is so disappointing! I don't know if anyone else also has the same issue or is it just me being super unlucky! I want you guys to be aware when you considering this monitor!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excessive IPS glow, buggy software. my unit has excessive IPS glow coming from the bottom left corner that shines on nearly 25% of my screen. also, the LG monitor control software freezes when i attach my display to my new Windows10 PC via USB. this makes it impossible to use the monitor as a USB hub, and i can't update my monitor's firmware for the newest features. LG customer support has been an absolute incompetent nightmare to deal with. stay away, unless you're willing to play the panel lottery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best UltraWide ATM I bought this when they had the insane sale. However at first I was given the G variant and took quite a long time to get me the F variant which I ordered. He specs of this monitor are very nice however I stil have quite a bit of black light bleed. For a monitor if this price I would expect better quality control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice Ultrawide Updated from a 27" gaming enthusiast g-sync monitor to this ultrawide. The monitor sits very nicely on its stand. it doesn't rotate, but the swivel/height adjustments are more than enough. This monitor has been used for general use and performs very well. Gaming with HDR on was quite a difference as the colors "popped". If you've never had an ultrawide, I'd recommend this one, it does have an immersive feel to it. Spec wise, it is g-sync compatible as long as you follow the appropriate setup. I'm just overall impressed with this very, very nice ultrawide. I did have some issues with a color distortion, where occasionally upon turning on/waking that the screen would go green/purple with a line down the middle. A solution was recommended by LG that resolved the issue for approx ~2wks before a separate discoloration issue occurred. The monitor is currently in for repair. Despite all of this, the monitor is still a very nice monitor. I would still recommend this. I give it 4/5 due to some clouding and minimal flash lighting. If you're on the fence, check this this monitor out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as Intended picture quality is good. Monitor looks great and functions as intended. Shipping was fast! Very Disappointed that a monitor At this price does not automatically detect and switch inputs based on signal. I have a desktop computer and a docking station for my laptop hooked up to this monitor and won’t automatically switch inputs when powered on! Also disappointed that the monitor doesn’t appear to save settings. For example I have to go into the monitor settings every time I turn the monitor back on to turn the cross hairs on. Also I’m not sure if the USB ports on the back of the monitor are working. I plugged in my IPhone to charge it and nothing happened. Maybe this is operator error who knows I typically don’t use the USB found on back of monitors so not a big deal to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was good while it lasted... I'm in the same situation as several other reviewers: gray lines suddenly appeared, indicating that ribbon cable has melted/burned and it is only a matter of time before it worsens and the monitor becomes completely unusable. This is the second LG product that has failed after a couple years. It seems that their designs are not built to last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WARNING: FIRE HAZARD, DO NOT BUY Bought this monitor September 2020, used as my main monitor on my PC. Just 30 minutes ago (Aug 2023) it decided to overheat and a couple of sparks later, the monitor was giving me scanlines like the other negative reviews are showing. Thank god I was around when this happened, else my apartment building would have caught on fire. I see there are thorough inspections and reviews done by professional tinkerers who were able to tell that the issue with these monitors is that the ribbon cable connecting the panel to the board melts because of internal heat, and the ribbon cable is not a replaceable part as it is directly wired to both parts. I am highly dissatisfied with LG's quality control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing, until it broke The monitor was honestly amazing for the first 3 years, I bought it from Overclockers UK in June 2020, but it has now succumbed to the same fate as the rest of the reviews... scanlines and flickering... Oh and the warranty is only 3 years, so yay, it's a £800 paperweight now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for long lasting..... I need to share others opinion. My monitor had to replace twice the display as first time Dead Pixels apeared, later just black lines on the screen. But all was managed within Warranty. Literally just 1-2 month after Warranty ending, anomalies and not understandable things happend. Now grey lines... But I also had flickering issues too but luckily that disapeared - time being. I have expected a little bit longer lifecycle. What about economy dear LG ? Such a displays for 3-4 year...
