Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish there was a Nuud for the iPod Touch I am hoping this case provides some waterproofing, but it is nowhere near as nice as the Nuud design for other Apple models. The clear plastic cover looks like it will be easily scratched and it inhibits touch and creates refractory patterns which make small text hard to read

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IPod 5/6 case Well let's see, where do I start. First of all it's not a Frè. Well if it is, it's only half of it. The port covers are pretty cheesy, don't see them lasting very long. The way the back of the case is and how the front screen protector fit together I don't see it being water proof due to the air pocket near the home button on the iPod. I haven't had an issue with using the buttons like some people have stated, so that's a plus. I don't understand why they couldn't just build it as a Frè, instead of going half assed like they did. Lifeproof has always had a pretty good product for the other Apple devices I own and have owned.

The adhesive protective screen is pretty much a one time use if you decide to take it off. The screen also seems to build up oil but I wasn't sure if it was underneath or on top of the screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Product I got this to replace a case that got chipped after it fell. Be aware this DOES NOT have a plastic/glass screen protector like the phone version does. That is a major downside i think since usually the 1st thing to break when you drop a touchscreen phone/ipod is the screen. Overall a decent case, it has good seals covering the ports to prevent water damage though since it doesn't have a screen protector i do not know if water would get in through there; and i am not about to dunk my ipod in water to test it. I think this is a decent case but if you have had the touchscreen crack with previous phones/ipods i think their are better cases, this i believe is more for water proofing and scratch resistance.

The biggest flaw is the way it becomes water proof is a screen protector that goes on top your phone screen and expense to the edges of the case which create a waterproof Seal. lifeproof only includes two waterproof screen protectors and the only way to get another one just buy another case or get a warranty issued one

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but this case has the defect of the screen button at the top being made inoperable because the case does not seem to line up well with it. However, the case does keep the iPod in it quite well, and the screen cover has the right adhesive to it to stick well even as I walk 7-8 hours a day with it in my shirt pocket. I think Lifeproof needs a user advisory panel to interact with us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some Design Flaws I've had this case twice now, and I'm not entirely pleased. Let's start by what comes in the box. With the product comes the transparent, rubber lined, LifeProof case. As well as two screen protectors (black or white), and a threaded 1/8" audio jack. Pros -The case is transparent, so the color of your Ipod is actually relevant making it aesthetically pleasing. -Design is slim, non-bulky, and nearly weightless. -The threaded jack allows you to connect headphones to your device despite the depth and size of the audio jack indentation made by the case. -The case has saved my device from several drops, and doesn't collect dust as advertised. However the case is only water proof to a certain extent. Cons -The rubber flaps covering the lightning port and audio port wear over time, especially if you always have headphones plugged in. -The threaded jack port has broken on both of my cases, so the thread jack no longer screws in. It simply slips in and out. Also on both occassions the rubber casing of the threaded jack wears, and creates a noticeable amount of static, cracks, and pops when listening to audio via headphones. -As said before, the case is only waterproof to a certain extent. NEVER submerge the case in water while audio is playing from the device. As a result the case sucks in water from the audio port. However, the case has survived being submerged on several occasions for underwater pictures, videos, etc. while the audio WASN'T playing. It's an okay case from my experience, and clearly does more than most other cases. However, for 50 dollars I would expect the engineers at LifeProof to have worked out all the kinks in the case that's advertising itself as waterproof and protecting my 250$ device. The case is really water resistant, not proofed. Hope this review helps any future buyers of this case

It doesn't skimp out when it comes to protection, but it's a little shaky compared to some other LifeProof cases because the front is actually just a stick-on screen protecter instead of an actual 1/2 case. Other than that, this case is amazing in all aspects aside from that. For $50, you can protect your iPod 5 for less than insurance, and have more freedom. One small problem however: it is a tiny bit difficult to have the charge port & headphone port open at the same time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not what I expected I have the Lifeproof fre case for my iPad mini and I was very impressed. I ordered this case for my iPod assuming it would be similar. I am less than impressed. I got it in the mail today and it is a rugged back closed with a screen protector. I'm really wary about even attempting to test the waterproof factor of it. Also, there is something in one of the two screens that came with it. It definitely needs some improvement. Should be more similar to the iPad and iPhone cases.

I love it. it comes with the back of the case and the front screen protector, headphone cable, screen cloth and extra screen protector. ive tried it in water and it works great. I took it to mexico and went swimming in the ocean with it, dropped it in the sand and no problem. I think lifeproof did a really great job on this case. the only thing I would change if I could is that the headphone and charging port cover is gel so if it breaks off then it is no longer lifeproof. but other than that, great case, great price, very great durability and all round good protection. hope this review helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not waterproof Pros: The case looks very nice and fits perfectly and is very shock proof Aka: drop proof Cons: it is very hard to put the screen protector on and if you want to take the ipod out of the case you have to take it off after doing that a few times either adjusting or taking the iPod out it isn't water proof any more. it also only comes with 2 screen protectors. conclusion: if your are looking for a case that looks nice any is shock proof i would reccomend this case , on the other hand if you are planning on getting it wet this is not the case for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the lifeproof! I bought the lifeproof for my toddler because I knew she would need a good sturdy case because she is so rough! The first case I received I noticed the power button was very difficult to turn on/off. It also would randomly turn on/off without anyone touching it. I thought maybe it just needed to be "worked in" but it never got better. I finally called customer service and explained the issues I had. They have the best customer service ever! I called late at night and surprisingly they were still hard at work. Super nice lady helped me with no problems and sent out a new case. The new case works awesome! My little one has no problems with it and mom doesn't have a heart attack when she throws it across the room lol I know it is protected! Lifeproof is the way to go!

There is a screen protector instead of a snap on front which is dangerous for protecting water. So I took the iPod in the lifeproof case to the beach and water never got in. But I dropped it in the sand and sand got underneath the screen. So I went home to wash it and water got into the case. I changed the screen and I was okay. Then I washed the lifeproof case today and water got in again! Not impressed, i will be returning or refunding or exchanging if they are remodeling the case

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great case I bought this case a few years ago now and I carry my iPod 6th generation every day. It has held up greatly considering how hard I am from time to time on it. My only complaints about the case are the plugs on the bottom for the charger port and head phone jack. On both of them the rubber tabs that help you open them have both broke off. I wish the case was more like the iPhone cases that are two pieces and snap together, but other than that I'm still using the original screen protector. It has a lot scratches on it but still works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Protection, Poor Function I have been using the LifeProof case for new ipod touch 5th generation for 7 months, beginning in October of 2015. I wanted the best protection on market for bumps, drops and dust. I chose this case and at same time bought a slim one of other brand to compare. ipod snaps in solidly to LifeProof, good size, good protection. Volume buttons work great through case, plugs at bottom to protect headphone and power ports are a nice fit and easy in/out. Work in high dust environment and felt case helped protect device from particulate. Semi rigid enclosure gave confidence in device protection. The Power Button is a problem. Case makes it VERY DIFFICULT to depress power button to power phone up or down (only way I found I could do it consistently was to hold device upside down and press button onto a hard flat surface). This inconvenience leads to placing phone in pocket while still activated and doing bad things... Very often the case would hold Power Button half cocked and I would inadvertently snap screen shots when depressing home button. The case regularly tries to turn off the pod and I must cancel the request. Above and beyond the annoyance of it all I felt the case was in fact harming the ipod by abusing the power button and frequently attempting shutdown. I liked the protection, but have now retired the LifeProof and use other case with power button which works well through case.

Since the company sends a spare with each case they must realize that also. Will likely try others to find the right case for this environment. This is a shame as I already have used the IPad and IPhone Nuud for years and love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely worth the money This is a perfect case, except for 3 things; the first being that it is hard to have both ports (headphone and power open at the same time. Not that big of a deal, you can have them both in use at the same time, but it's a bit difficult. The second problem is that the volume buttons and the power button are hard to press and hard to tell when they've been pressed. This is a bigger issue at first, but they get sort of broken in, and easier to press as time goes by. The last problem, and easily the biggest one, is that you can not just take this case on and off. The way it works is there is the case itself, with is very tough, I love it, and a sort of screen protector. The case goes on the device, and the case has a 1/4th inch rim, and then the screen protector has a 1/4th inch adhesive strip on the edge, which is covered by a white or black color (to match the front of the device), seals the device in. The only problem is, you get 2 of these, on black and one white. So you can't test the case (which does work) without the device. Other than those things, it is great! It nicely shows the iPods colors, and is very awesome!

I say that because the front piece is actually a sticker and not a hard plastic like other lifeproofs. It should work I guess but for the money I really expected a higher quality of craftsmanship.

The case doesn't fit the IPod properly and continually depresses the power button on it's own and shuts the IPod off. I also don't believe the "sticky edged" film they supply will provide any reasonable amount of waterproofing, and I'm not going to dunk a several hundred dollar IPod to find out.

Camping out at progresivEly higher levels. I took my ipod for the simple comfortS. After A long night of hypothermia cases and unmeasuRable feet of snow i discovered that i had dropped my ipod. I grabbed My shovle and started Digging arOund my bivoUac. And there it was. Incased in a thin layer of ice. Doubtful that it might work i Hit it against my boot and turn it on and pressed play. Still iN the condItiOn i bought it in. Thank you lifeproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product I bought this case because I wanted to show off my Product (Red) iPod Touch. It does look good in the case except for the big LIFEPROOF logo right in the middle. I haven't tested it in the water yet...but I probably won't. Why risk it? If it happens to fall in and it survives, then great...but I'm not tempting fate. I like how the kit comes with both a black and a white face.I used the white, but I'll be changing it to the black face even though the front of my touch is white. Why? After putting it on, I realized that there's a long-haired black Chihuahua hair in the corner and it's driving me nuts. So I'm gonna peel it off and start again. Also, the white isn't exactly the same white as on the touch. That bugs me too....lol. Does anyone know if they sell replacement face covers? I don't see any on the site. I think it's worth the investment and my friends think it's really cool looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent customer service This case is by far the best case for Ipod out there. Because it’s waterproof you can wash it with soap and water whenever its dirty! It does a good job of keeping dust out if you keep your port plugs in. I like this case because it keeps my Ipod clean from dirt and dust and keeps it from getting scratches. Having a waterproof case is nice because I can take it to the beach or a pool and know that it will be perfectly fine. My case has only leaked once, I called Lifeproof’s amazing customer service and they sent me a new one, because Lifeproof stands behind their products. When I purchased this case it pressed the power button and always turned my ipod off, however I took a razor blade and trimmed a little rubber off of the inside of power button on the case and now it works great!!

Didn't matter what I did to try to make it work. Unable to send back due to trying to make it work. Out the full cost of the case. Maybe modify description to state does not fit generation 6 ipod. Even though there was a sticker on the front of the box stating it would.

I dropped this case with my iPod in it from 6.6 feet on hard floor and nothing happened. I also dropped it in a 11 ft. deep pool for 2 hours and no water was in the case!!! I would defiantly recommend this case to anyone with an Ipod 5!! Great job life proof!!

Nice durability and it looks like it would stand a beating. But I don't think it would last under water. The protection on the screen is just a screen protector that's just stocked onto the back of the case. No o-ring to keep the water out and you have to put the screen part on yourself. So even with a little hair it in, it's not going to be water proof. That's why I don't really trust it in water yet. But over all the case is nice. I wish the head phone jack want so small so you can fit regular sized headphones in it without using the adapter.

I will also say that their promise of Dirt, Snow, Water, and Drop proof have all worked for me EXCEPT FOR THE WATER PROOF. This case is not water proof. I was in our pool in the shallow zone (4 feet) and when I took it out ... IT WAS FILLED WITH WATER. We soaked it in rice for a solid week and thankfully it came back to life. Not the best case I've purchased...

I've only had it for a few days so I cannot speak right now on long term protection, but so far so good. I do wish that the front screen protector was part of the case that actually snapped around the ipod like some other lifeproof cases for other brand phones. I do very much like the fit and use-ability of the screen protector though. Thanks for making a great product.

The back is the normal like back of a case but the front is a durable screen protector. Although it does it's job of protecting it has had issue with dust getting underneath it and it doesn't look well on the screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective, at a cost Unfortunately, we have had the same experience others have had with the case fitting the iPod touch (5, in this case too tightly. The buttons are activated without any intent, because the case doesn't fit over them properly, resulting in the device taking screen shots or switching to the off screen when the user is engaged in something else. My daughter doesn't want to return it, feeling it's a mild inconvenience for the protection benefits, but I have to hear the complaints. ;) Would not recommend for the iPod until the fit is improved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from protection is above and beond No matter the price of the product nothing can compare to this life changing thing. this is evolution now you don't have to worry about the life threatening thing that could happen to your phone for a case that can last for your whole life this is the case i would trust the most. no matter the design the only thing you should care about is how safe your device is with lifetime case that will be there to protect your device forever. this is the best case in the. history of the earth. teenage girls would worry about their phone because they break it or it falls in the pool! but not anymore will you have to worry because this case will change your life and you getting into any of the trouble of having to pay for a new phone every time or any time in your life because of this case. Thank you for reading my statement/ comment for this case i hope you make the right decision of paying for this case because its worth the money to pay for this case and it will last forever as you want it to. it really saves you the time, and money for your life. its just a break in your life. I don't think it holds up to the standards or quality that LifeProof is known for. The back of the case is good but then it only has a "sticker" for the front! I don't see how this would be considered "waterproof, dust proof, etc"?!?! Needs a redesign!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eee I bought this case for my sons iPod because I have a life proof case for my iPhone 6. I'm not a big fan of the sticker of the front of a $200 iPod. I don't feel it's a save as my life proof case is for my iPhone 6. I do however like the rubber grommets covering the charging port and the headphone jack much better than on the iPhone 6 case.

My whole family has Lifeproof cases for Iphones which we are very please with the quality but the Ipod case doesnt even remotely compare and made out of cheap, poor quality material. Definitely not worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dissapointed Bought 31 of these to use at our hotel and about half of them are defective. The rubber "power button" that covers the actual iPod power button fits so tightly that it presses against the power button when the iPod is in the case. It turns the iPod off and causes all kinds of strange behavior. Our users have just taken the cases off and are using them without a case... not good. We spent the extra money to get a premium product but in the end all we got was a headache. I'm sure support will switch them out but its a hassle and who's to say the replacements will be any better. Lifeproof missed the mark on this case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't get over the shipping to love the product I'd like to say this product is nice and durable and that I would recommend it for anyone. Well, I will say that, but I would purchase this from a store rather than lifeproof direct. I received free shipping, so that's cool, but shipping from Colorado to California took over a week. I think it ended up being about 9 days to get the items to me. Unreal if you ask me. I would have happily paid a few extra bucks had I known. Because of the shipping, I can only provide 2 stars for this item. Shipping and delivery is part of the experience and the experience is what I'm reviewing. The experience was awful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ok but I had expected more It is a nice looking case and it’s good and all but for the price I thought it would be better I didn’t realize it works with the screen protectors and the one I put on has a horrible rainbow effect, I only got one spare and expect it to do the same plus I can’t buy replacements... it doesn’t have any kind of bumper in the front to protect the screen from falling facedown so that is also a big let down, I think the rubber nuns will wear off with time as well and they collect dust a lot when open for use... for 80$ I was just expecting a really good case not one that makes me have to tell myself oh well it’s decent and hope that the screen doesn’t get damaged and it does it’s job ok at least... I can’t stand the rainbow thing tho and the case won’t stay waterproof forever because of the design the only thing I like it the way it looks and the padding around the side

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LEAKED TWICE I bought this case because i liked how slim it looked and because of the fact it was said to be waterproof. the case was nice at the beginning, i dropped it off my loft-bed a couple times, which was about a 10ft drop, and it held up great. however, the second time i put it in water, water got through the case. i took it apart fast enough to save the ipod, but the case failed. i replaced the "waterproof" screen protector, but the next time i put it into water it leaked again. after that i was done, and switched back to my otterbox. neither of them are waterproof anyway, and the otterbox has had much better performance. dont buy, not worth it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best available This is the best available case to protect iPod. Easy to encase. Seals are great. 1 and only thing I don’t like, is the adhesive screen protector. You have to remove adhesive screen protector if you want/need to take out. The protector is NOT reusable. Only 2 come with the case. Solid buy for your iPod.

The protection: it looks SomeWhat safe to drop in wAter (i havent fully submerged it! I did Use the white screen protector fIrst but, it was ugly, doesnt match the white ipod! I took it off yesterday and then i put it back on, but With the bLack screen, it looks better I did mess Up and The home button is off and hard to pusH The case is thin But you cant take it off! There are These rainBow lOoking lines that are in the screen protector, WhiCh i havent figured out how to remove Good case, but not worth $50 USD

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing I spent the extra money on a lofeproof case for my daughter's iPod because I trusted it to be tough and well built. And it is, at least the back part. Upon receiving the case, I found out that the port covers are flimsy pieces of soft rubber and the front piece is nothing more than a thick screen film. Long story short, my daughter chews on the flimsy rubber pieces and I highly doubt the waterproofness of the case as it's nothing more than a shell with a screen film. Not happy at all about it. Only have two stars because I like lifeproof brand as a whole and the back cover is tough and durable like their other cases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Itz okayyy… Issue 1: the little tabs to help open the port “doors” broke off after a couple of months *i destroyed the case for ur so that’s why the port doors aren’t attached to their former case* Issue 2: (Plz note this was with my most recent case, or #3 The bottom part, where the lip is, broke. *don’t worry you’ll probably never see me in real life* Issue 3: (Case 1) the iPod power and home buttons both had constant pressure on them, causing Siri and the power off to constantly pop up Issue 4: I feel that there should be spare parts(ex. Screen protectors w/ the same color boarder, and headphone/earbud adapters) Issue 5: The adapters (I have gone through 4) keep shorting out, meaning I can’t hear anything from 1 side, I’m not sure if this is because of the way it was packaged (each side plugged into each other) I hope whoever just read that lengthy review found it helpful!

I have broke one case and one clip and you guys replaced it with proof of purchase which is understandable. To date neither device has gotten wet or broken inside the case and I have had them for three years. So thanks for that B

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fre - Oil Spots :( I've had my Fre for a few days now, and I'm not super excited about it. My last Lifeproof cases were nothing like this. They had a snap together case that came apart with a front panel and a back panel. Although the Fre saves a few millimeters of depth to your device, the front panel is a glorified screen protector. I'm actually a bit terrified to actually depend on it for waterproof abilities. There is also an oil like spot residue on the screen protector even though great care was taken to ensure it was placed on my device correctly. For $50 I'm disappointed. I'd suggest opting for an Otter Box or other cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Presses power button Plain and simple my iPod Touch does not fit the case properly, It fits in it as it should, however the case's external power button sits ON the actual power button. It results in constant black screens and random "slide to turn off" messages. It prevents me from pressing the button myself when I want to turn off the display. I even found that if I rubbed the corner of the case near the button (not the actual button) that it would flick on and off. Pros: Looks great, light and small. Cons: Case's External power button sits and constantly presses the iPod's power button.

It helps protect my iPod by keeping it waterproof, and also helps protect it by keeping it from getting scratched. I'll never use any kind of phone case besides LifeProof.

The only thing wrong is that the screen protector part loses its ability to stick after a few months. I would like there to be replacement screen protectors for sale. But overall this case rocks!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Dunked It Anyway After one year with my Lifeproof Nuud case for my iPad 2 I decided that I needed one for my iPod 5G. I ordered the case on lifeproof.com and within a week it was in my hands. When I opened the box I found the back to a case and 2 screen protectors. I thought to myself that it couldn't be possible for a screen protector to protect my $300 device from water damage. I installed the case with the white screen protector to match my ipod. It is a beautiful case, displays my yellow iPod touch perfectly. Even after taking my ipad to the beach, in the pool, in the shower, and rinsing in the sink several times I was still apprehensive about submerging this case. So naturally, in a moment of spontaneity I picked it up and dropped it right into my glass of water. It really does protect my device, not that I ever had a doubt ;) One downside... The screen protector that serves as the faceplate for the fre case can only be used once. If you decide to take it out of the case you need to use a fresh faceplate. As someone who likes to take my device out of the lifeproof case to set it on a dock or use a 30 pin adapter for my car this is definitely a design flaw. It's small price to pay however, for a case that provides the protection that I only trust from Lifeproof. Also you can purchase two extra faceplates on lifeproof.com for $14.99.

Nothing but a plastic screen cover, bordered with an adhesive 'protects' the front half of the case. After only a couple of weeks, dust from his pocket has penetrated the cover and is seen under the screen protector. How can it be expected to keep out water/snow/mud??? We expected more from lifeproof. Especially at the price paid!!!

I did in fact test to see if it is water proof and drop proof and yes it definitely is life proof. I recommend this to anyone that has an iPod 5 it is amazing!!
