Optoma were however prompt in fixing the projector and shipping back. HD and 4K is awesome. It does generate a lot of heat though. Being PC 3D ready, I am hoping to get 3D working someday.

Rated 5 out of 5 byTodd Welch from True 4K HDR at a Bargain PriceI thought I would have to wait a couple of years to get a true 4k HDR relatively shorter throw projector, so I was thrilled to see Optoma release the UHD50. It throws a crystal clear 4k image onto my 1.1 gain white screen from 12' for 132" of viewing pleasure! YouTube 4k HDR and PS4 Pro images look incredible. My setup rivals those costing 10 to 20 times a much just a year ago. Would definitely recommended this projector to anyone looking to take the leap from 1080p.

I have it set up at 14 to a 135 inch screen and it is picture perfect. It also does gaming like a champ. I am thrilled to have all of this punch at such a value price when compared to other units This projector is truly exceptional so far. I highly recommend this one!

Another unexpected feature was just how quiet the fan is. I am very pleased with my purchase, an amazing value for under $1500.00.

Rated 5 out of 5 byEd Capko from Better than expected, great price pointI've spent the last six months reviewing 4K reasonable priced projectors with the UHD65 and UHD60 be at the top of my list to purchase, except for their price point. When I saw the UHD50 released, the specs, features and price point where right in line with my home theater needs. The one major concern I had was how smooth fast motion video for hockey would be, hence why the UHD65 was tops on my list. My fear was completely unfounded and very impressed with the seamless picture quality. Upgrading from a 2000 lumens 1080i projector with brightness and greatly improved contrast, even without the HDR simulation is well worth the money. The HDR sim on makes it even better. Love the simple menu system for changing settings including the remote control for the most common settings. I certainly recommend the product as you can't beat having a 4K experience on the big screen and makes me look forward to having an outdoor movie night in the big yard this summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 byIbrahim Ulukaya from Best size, price and qualityI've owned and used Optoma UHD60 and Benq ht2550 as other 4k dlp projectors earlier. While UHD60 had an amazing quality, had so much issues and compatibility problems with ht2550. But the UHD60 was pretty bulky and heavy for the average home user. So uhd50 is the best thing in between. Quality is still almost as good as uhd60, which perfetly sharp, crystal clear, a real 4k, which works seamlessly with Chromecast, xbox one x, all 4k hdr devices. On the other side, it's half the size and weight of uhd60 and input lag is much less. For the this projector is a winner.

The picture is outstanding, it's quiet and we are happy with the purchase in every way=it's an awesome value!

Set up was very easy, thanks to features like lens shift, zoom, and keystone correction. I currently have it set up with an Apple TV 4th generation and the picture looks great. I am now thinking about upgrading to the Apple TV 4K so I can fully take advantage of the UHD50’s capabilities.
