The SAT2510BMU33 USB 3.0 Hard Drive Enclosure with UASP lets you connect a 2.5-inch SATA III hard drive (HDD) or solid state drive (SSD) through an available USB port. The enclosure delivers optimal performance with a USB 3.0 connection, but is backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.1 host connections as well.
Enhanced with UASP, this 2.5" SATA III enclosure performs up to 70% faster than conventional USB 3.0 when paired with a UASP-enabled host controller. Using a more efficient protocol than the traditional USB BOT (Bulk-Only Transport), UASP reduces latency, significantly increasing transfer speeds.
With support for SATA I/II/III, and large capacity drives this HDD enclosure is compatible with virtually any 2.5-inch SATA hard drive, and greatly increase the storage/backup capabilities of your computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 byisonno from OMG this thing is slow.I used this set up a Samsung 840 EVO SSD as an external drive. I'm only seeing around 20MB/sec file copy speed on this drive (about 50x slower than 1GB/sec with the internal ssd on the same computer).The same SSD had reasonable performance in another system, so I suspect this enclosure is the cause of the lousy performance.The enclosure is simple to set up an use, but there must be a better performing solution out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 byRebel from Work perfectly.Bought it today, slapped a Samsung 840 pro SSD inside, hooked it up via USB 3 and instantly got a reading of 455 Reads and 421 Write speed. Then I transfered 10 GB of DPX files and took under 8 seconds! The USAP in this enclosure is the major advantage. Its self powered to boot. Perfect for very fast portable storage.
