This dual-monitor USB-C™ dock transforms your MacBook or Windows® laptop into a dual Ultra HD 4K workstation, with support for 4K DisplayPort and HDMI monitors. It gives you all the connections to create a fully capable workstation, including an SD™ card reader slot.

The USB-C docking station features USB Power Delivery 2.0 (60W), to power and charge your laptop as you work. It's the perfect companion for your MacBook Pro or other Thunderbolt™ 3 equipped laptop.

Create a dual-4K video workstation

The USB-C dock expands the display capabilities of your laptop across two Ultra HD 4K monitors. It enables DisplayLink® and USB-C DP Alt Mode to allow dual 4K video output to HDMI and DisplayPort 4K monitors. With the dual-4K dock, you can connect:

  • 1x 4K DisplayPort display at 3840 x 2160 resolution @ 30Hz
  • 1x 4K HDMI display at 3840 x 2160 resolution @ 30Hz
SD card reader

The dock provides direct access to your SD memory cards or microSD™ cards (with adapter). The SD card slot can also be used for additional storage and backup through macOS X Time Machine or Windows 10 File History.

Ample connections

The dock provides four USB 3.0 (Type-A) ports to connect your peripherals, including a USB 3.0 fast-charge and sync port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a combined 3.5 mm audio and microphone port.

Connected Device Transparency with the StarTech.com MAC Address Changer Utility

The DK30CHDDPPD, includes a free Windows® application that enables you to better manage your enterprise network security. When you connect to your network through the ethernet port of the dock, the computer's MAC address is typically not broadcast to the network, as your network only sees the MAC address of the docking station. However, the StarTech.com MAC Address Changer or Cloning software enables the USB-C dock to use MAC address spoofing of the connected Windows laptop rather than the MAC address of the dock itself. This ensures your network administrators have full visibility of each device on the network and can monitor and limit activity accordingly. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent USB-C Dual 4K Docking Station I have been in the AV/IT Integration space for over 30 years. I found this unit easy to setup and use on my Microsoft and Apple devices. I especially like that USB-C docking station features USB Power Delivery 2.0 to power and charge your laptop as you work. The SD Slot allows for direct access to the SD memory cards, which is a must for anyone who edits photos or videos. The unit provides more than enough connection possibilities with four USB 3.0 (Type-A) ports, a USB 3.0 fast-charge and sync port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a combined 3.5 mm audio and microphone port. The unit installs quickly and is compatible with a variety of operating systems, which I tested. This dock has an impressive amount of ports (4 USB, SD Card, Headphone, HDMI, Display link, Gigabit Ethernet) for such a light weight device. While similar to some other StarTech USB-C docks the addition of an SD card slot is a life saver for those doing photo editing work, etc. The only downside experienced was that the power brick is large comparative to the dock itself. The weight of the power brick tends to tip or move the dock depending on your desk height and cable management. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work with DSP connection on Mac I had bought this with the hope of using 2 monitors with my MacBook Pro, I am running 10.14.3 and I am running the newest drivers as provided by StarTech but the only monitor that is working is the HDMI connected monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect with my PC but not my Mac, yet. This is another great docking station from Startech.com. Solid build and great ports, including an SD card reader that I really love. This dock worked perfectly for my Windows-based notebook, after installing all the necessary drivers. The issues came up while testing with a Macbook Pro, but I don’t entirely hold the Dock to blame. The issue came from the MacOS version; I upgraded to the very latest version and the chipset isn’t fully supported. Look at the website (support tab) and heed readme files and driver information bulletins, if you are the sort to not jump at the latest updates, you might not have any issues. I fully believe this is a temporary situation and will be solved in short order. This is a solid docking station with a 60 watt power supply, something I think is essential in a one-cable docking solution. Video output is excellent on both HDMI and DP. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Docking Station This is very similar in capabilities to DK30ADD except it is USB-C connected as opposed to USB 3.0. This product again is part of my my essential computer tools and is used daily. It will work on any computer with a USB-C port. It is well made. It comes with power adapters (EU and NA) , a USB-C cable to connect to your computer, and manual. It has Display Link drivers available for Windows and Mac (work in High Sierra). All work well. I have not tested any 4K display devices so can not comment on this or work ability of this but it does provide crisp clean video on lower resolution monitors. This docking station provides all the essentials of USB ports (3 on back, 1 on front), an SD Card slot on the one end, headphone jack and power switch on the front as well as HDMI, Display Link , gig Ethernet on the back along with the 3 USB ports. There is a large power brick for this device so it might not be a light travelling companion. Well made and truly functional docking station and I, for one, will not part with it. This has been tested primarily on a MAC (under High Sierra (not 10.3.4 but higher)) but has also been tested on Windows 10. Note: I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, small, and pain free I received this item to review (my old review is missing!). Since then, however, I have gone on to buy several more, recommend them to friends, etc. My one critique is that it really needs more USB3 on the front. I mean, the back is nice, but when you have the dock tucked out of the way in the back corner of the desk.... I swap USB devices often, so it's not a fluid movement. It charges my Macbook just fine via the USB-C, has a charging USB port, and a single audio (for headset with mic) too. The SD card slot is a nice touch, and really fast with newer SD cards. I can download from my camera's memory card MUCH faster than my USB SD card reader from last year. Writes quick too. Needs better "non-slide" feet! The power adapter cable could be a touch longer (since this is a desk-mount type device), but that's just my view. All in all, one of the best StarTech USB-C docks I've used so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality docking station I love this docking station for all its options, You get multiple usb ports, HDMI, Displayport, audio, and gigabit ethernet and for something different a SD card slot. As I am always taking pictures with a digital camera I found this to be a great addition to the dock. I had no issues using the dock and the only real complaint i have is with the weight of the dock. I would like these to be a bit heavier as i find the dock with move where the cables push it. With a little more weight to the dock it would sit in one place on a desk instead of getting pushed around by cables. for function this dock is great! I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.
