Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working great in my observatoryI was using a similar product which died after a year or two. The StarTech is installed on my telescope and has every port occupied. The 12v power was important for my application. Here's hoping this hub keeps on doing the job for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needs Accessory guidanceWant to use this product powered by the accessory terminal block. (never enough power from the connected PC....) From the tech specs it expects DC input (7-24V). What amperage would be nominal? I would buy this power adapter accessory from StarTech if it was listed.... Have to look elsewhere....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ports failI purchased 4 of these units for industrial PC bricks in separate cabinets mainly because if I needed the external power we had 24 VDC power supplies already present. We did not need the external power, but we found two of these units started having port failures after operating less than a month. I liked its design being compact, DIN rail mountable, and the 24 VDC power option, but the unit doesn't function reliably so I have to rate it poorly.
