This product has always worked provided the drive is actually working mechanically. I've never actually been compelled to write a review before but this adapter is great. We have 2 of them now and will no doubt try the USB 3.0 one at some point.

Made the clone w/o incident using free software from easeus. Replaced the failing drive with the clone. Works perfectly.Even a novice can do this.

Used this to connect a drive while working in WDS, and it would not stay active, thus the image upload would perpetually fail indicating that it couldn't find the drive.2. The power adapter is not universal with a pc adapter like I have seen on many other of these IDE/SATA to USB adapters. Something like that is ideal when you are working in a high paced environment and don't want to have to have separate cables for everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 byDale from Did not work for meI bought this to use with a Seagate Barracuda Sata drive from my old computer. The drive will spin but the computer will not recognize it. Work great witj a lap top sata drive. Could not find any help on the internet.
