The U442-DOCK1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 USB-C Docking Station turns your computer, laptop or tablet into a versatile workstation. By connecting its built-in cable to your device's USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port, you'll be able to add an external display, access Gigabit Ethernet networks, transfer data, display video and more.

Mini DisplayPort, VGA and HDMI ports allow you to connect an external display (one display at a time). With the addition of adapters (sold separately), you can also add a DVI or DisplayPort display to the U442-DOCK1. The Mini DisplayPort and HDMI ports support UHD video resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 (4K x 2K) at 30 Hz. The VGA port supports HD video resolutions up to 1920 x 1200, including 1080p, at 60 Hz.

Connect a Gigabit Ethernet cable (sold separately) to the RJ45 port to access true 10/100/1000 Mpbs network speeds. Three USB-A hub ports are convenient for connecting peripherals to your device. Each supports data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps. A dedicated BC 1.2-compliant USB port provides up to 1.5A of fast-charging power.

The U442-DOCK1 also features a USB-C Power Delivery (PD) port that supports power input up to 20V 3A (60W). It connects to a USB-C wall charger to power the device it's plugged into, as well as peripherals plugged into the USB-A ports.

Micro SD and SD/MMC memory card slots also provide access to external memory. A 3.5 mm audio jack is convenient for connecting speakers, headphones or a microphone to your connected device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent implementation of USB Type-C DP1.2 Alt. ModeGreat USB Type-C DP1.2 Alt. Mode dock with PD pass through. Works at resolutions above what is published in specifications. Cable is a bit short and they really should have $RP on web site.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thunderbolt needed!!!Why make an adapter with MDP and not Thunderbolt? I know you can use the Apple Dual-Link adapter for just another mere $100 for every adapter we already purchased! Come on, why should I need another expensive adapter to hang off of this one? If you want to travel with it and have it work with Apple monitors, forget about it, after the two adapters are hooked together it is huge and has wires everywhere. Then you have to explain to all the end users why they need to daisy chain adapters and how it will now only work at there desk. Do you just have another adapter that actually has Thunderbolt? Our company would have no problem paying the extra cost just to avoid this. Yes, as someone else said the cable is also too short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Bad - Single Monitor SupportThe cable on the dock is too short. Would be better if it was at least a couple of feet long. Love that it's "plug-&-play" - no drivers or software needed. Bring on multiple (at least two) monitor support, and this would be an excellent docking station!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Likely needs more powerI had to return this. The HDMI port did not work with my old LCD Apple Cinema Display. Sometimes the display worked properly but usually all I got was white noise. Apple's telephone support was no help. I finally discussed the issue with a Genius in the Apple Store who said the single USB-C wired connector likely did not provide enough power. He suggested a different hub and it worked perfectly because the new hub plugs into two of my MacBook Pro's USB-C ports rather than only one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product has great features, but could use improvement on design. The product has great features and works as it should. I do feel this unit is a little more expensive than most and the materials could be a little nicer. The main issue I have is the cable that plugs into the computer could be a little longer. If you want to hide the replicator behind your laptop at your desk, there is not a lot of cable to do so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game changer! This helped me overcome the big challenges presented by Apple removing allll of their inputs. Would highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This adapter works with 30-inch Cinema Display. My customer bought 2017 MacBook Pro 15-inch and he wanted to use his 30-inch Cinema Display. This TrippLite adapter has a mini DisplayPort and it is 4K. I figured it may work. I tried it with Apple Dual-Link adapter and 30-inch Cinema Display. Voila! Full 2560x1600 full resolution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great solution for docking with 1 cableThis is a great way to just pick it up and go after using it at a desktop, one usb c cable is all it takes including power pass through.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from not what i expecetdBe extra careful before purchasing this device. It is awesome mainly because of all necessary connections in one nice package BUT, except for the USB ports, nothing else is plug & play. I tried the VGA, HDMI and MDP ports. Each time you had to plug a monitor and then reboot the Macbook before the monitor is recognized. I have yet to try multi-monitor but from what i understand that is NOT supported. The only bright side is the support, I called them a few times and found them to be very responsive, knowledgeable and willing to help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't Work if Used ContinuouslyIf the charger is plugged in to dock for few hours continuously & if the dock isn't plugged into the machine then the dongle doesn't work unless if you remove the power cord from it for some time.
