Rated 5 out of 5 by from This wasn't a good fit for what I needThis wasn't the best decision to get the WD Red HDs. Had all kind of problems getting these to be a bootable. I got these since we plan on getting a NAS system and I thought of getting HDs suited for them but it wasn't a good fit for an older Mac and older version of server, Tried creating a RAID and it would not install OS, tried no RAID and it would not boot. Finally use it as a data HD and had another older HD as a boot drive. The WD Red are a lot slower. I wished I bought a WD Black but I have to deal with it. My advice to anyone who wants to put the WD Red into an older Mac, to consider NOT using them

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Lousy Service!!!!!I used to be a big fan of CDW, but after this fiasco I will never order from them again. Product Ordered ... Product Back-Ordered ... Product arrive at CDW ... Billing issue ... without time to resolve issue, my order was shipped to next person on list ... then they were out again and I had to wait 2+ months for next back-order to clear and ship!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent valueI had a drive failure in a Netgear ReadyNAS unit that had 4 2-GB drives. For the price, I decided to replace all 4 drives with these 3-GB units and keep the good 2-GB drives as backups for the two other ReadyNAS units I have. Obviously I had to copy all the data off the old drives and copy back onto the new ones after initialization but it was well worth the effort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It spins it stores dataBased on Backblases stats this is one of the more reliable 3Tb drives out there. Not the fastest but the more reliable. For a home or SMB NAS array this is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great hard drive for NASI've been using the drives exclusively for all my NAS applications over the last couple of years and have yet to have any problems at all. Of course, they are just hard drives and some will no doubt fail eventually, but so far I haven't had a spot of trouble with them. This is FAR more than I could say about the Seagate HD's that came with Iomega NAS units, but that's another story for another product.
