The ATTO Xtend SAN iSCSI initiator allows Macintosh OS X users to tap into the benefits offered by iSCSI. With Xtend SAN, Mac OS X servers, workstations and laptops can directly communicate with iSCSI-ready storage devices over an existing Ethernet network. By tapping in to the power of iSCSI, Mac users can network multiple host and storage devices together in a Storage Area Network (SAN) at a fraction of the cost and complexity of Fiber Channel.
