IOGEAR's Active HDMI cables with Redmere technology overcome these distance limitations by incorporating several tiny integrated circuits to boost and equalize digital signals down the cable, allowing for thinner construction and avoiding the use external amplification. By using Redmere chipsets, the active cables can sustain speeds of 2.25Gbps per channel (6.75Gbps total) allowing video resolutions of up to 1080p to be transmitted over long cable runs without signal degradation.
