The ICUSB2324X 4 Port Professional Grade USB Serial Adapter converts a single USB port to four RS232 serial ports allowing you to connect to, monitor and control your serial devices. Rugged metal construction and sturdy wall-mount brackets provide a robust solution for both harsh industrial environments and simple desktop installations. Powered by USB, the device does not require a power outlet for most standard applications. For installations requiring power through the RS232 ports, optional DC connector and terminal block connections are included. Once connected, the adapter retains assigned serial COM port values, allowing the same values to automatically be re-assigned to the ports provided by the adapter in the event it is disconnected, then re-connected to the host computer. This innovative Serial adapter offers a professional grade solution for connecting legacy or industrial RS232 serial devices to more modern computers, or computers with unused USB ports – perfect for connecting serial modems, barcode scanners or any device with serial sync through USB, eliminating the expense of upgrading serial peripherals for USB compatibility.

After contacting support, Startech does not plan to release drivers for WIN10. We will be throwing these away in a year or so when we upgrade our systems. Device gets 4 stars, support gets 1. When I contacted them regarding plans to release a WIN10 driver, they simply stated no, we aren't doing that.

Rated 5 out of 5 byHydrographic Surveyor from Has been solid for years.I've had this unit for well over 5 years, and it's been rock solid, by far the best serial port unit I've used. We are frequently logging data from multiple sensors, and working on the ocean and in the rain. This unit has survived the damp and the abuse, and always done the job perfectly.I just came back here to download new drivers for Win7-64, and have yet to test them, but the old drivers under WinXP were superb, notably better than typical FTDI based converters, and hopefully these new Win7 drivers keep up the tradition. At least they installed painlessly, so no complaints yet :)Finally, I'm very impressed by Startech's support here. This exact product is still for sale, the drivers are here, and there is solid tech advice for setting it up. I'm sure you can buy cheap garbage from some fly-by-night company overseas, but I will not hesitate to buy products like this from Startech, because they honestly do a good job in a marketplace where that is very rare, and devices like this serial port converter are seldom supported, let alone for so many years and so professionally. I could lose more in an hour than buying this device twice, so the genuine attention to quality in both hardware and driver software is deeply appreciated.

Rated 5 out of 5 byChris from Excellent product with one issueThis is really an awesome product. I like the fact that you can run a supplemental 12V power to this unit. That makes it ideal for a mobile or marine applications. The only draw back is that there are no drivers for Windows 10. I am told there is a hack for that however, but StarTech should address this directly. The don't becasue they have an updated product that works with Windows 10. However that product does not support 12V supplemental power. Be advised, you can have supplemental power or you can have Windows 10 support. Pick your product accordingly.
