Easily connect and swap two 2.5 or 3.5in SATA III drives through eSATA or USB 3.0. The SDOCK2U33EB Dual 2.5/3.5" SATA hard drive docking station lets you dock and swap hard drives from your desktop or laptop computer simultaneously using a single eSATA or USB port.

For fast performance and efficient data transfers when connected through eSATA, the docking station supports full SATA III transfer speeds - up to 6 Gbps. For universal compatibility, the dock can be connected through USB 3.0 with transfer speeds up 5 Gbps plus support for UASP, which supports performance up to 70% faster than conventional USB 3.0 when paired with a UASP-enabled host controller to utilize the full potential of your SATA III hard drives.

The hard drive docking station supports the fastest drive technologies including SATA III (6 Gbps), hybrid drives and solid state drives (SSD), ensuring you can save time by getting the most out of your drive performance.

Extend the value of this hard drive docking station further with the addition of the SATA to IDE Hard Drive Adapter (SAT2IDEADP), allowing easy insertion of any 2.5 or 3.5in. IDE hard drive into a SATA hard drive dock.

To ensure compatibility with your computer system, the SDOCK2U33EB supports all of the leading operating systems, including: Microsoft Windows (8/7/Vista/XP/Server 2008/Server 2003), Apple OSX (10.9/10.8/10.7/10.6), Linux, and Google Chrome OS.

UASP is supported in Windows 8, Mac OSX (10.8 or above), and Linux. In testing, UASP performs with a 70% faster read speed and 40% faster write speed over traditional USB 3.0 at peak performance.

At the same peak in testing UASP also shows an 80% reduction in required processor resources.

Testing results were obtained using an Intel Ivy Bridge system, a UASP-enabled StarTech.com Enclosure, and a SATA III solid state drive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A decent HDD dock stationI bought this HDD docking station a few days ago and I am reasonably satisfied with it. The build quality is OK (not great, but not bad either) and the docking station is fairly easy to operate. Here are some extra information regarding the connectivity of the HDD docking station Startech has failed to provide:- When connected the HDD docking station through E-SATA with both drive bays populated, only the disk in bay 2 is visible/accessible. - When connected the HDD docking station through E-SATA and USB 3.0 with both drive bays populated, only the disk in bay 2 is visible/accessible. Basically when you connect this HDD docking station through E-SATA, only 1 drive at the time is visible/accessible (probably due to E-SATA limitations)Overall rating: 7/10

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very fast with usb3 operation and win 8.1 OSI have been using the docking station for about 3 weeks. tried both the e-sata connection and the USB3 cable. I using the device as a storage point for system backup. The read write speed is nearly twice the speed for the usb3 is nearly twice the spe3ed of the e-sata connection. I have not experienced issues with the HDD failing to register with the OS. the docking station has been highly reliable.
