Tripp Lite's SMART1000LCDU SmartPro LCD 120V 1000VA 500W Line-Interactive Desktop UPS provides battery backup and AC power protection against blackouts, brownouts, power surges and line noise that can damage electronics or destroy data. Ideal for backing up your home theater components and desktop computer system, the SMART1000LCDU switches to battery backup mode in milliseconds to keep your connected equipment running long enough to save files and shut down safely with no data loss.

While all eight NEMA 5-15R outlets protect against surges, four outlets also provide up to three hours of UPS battery support for a DVR component, 60 minutes of support for a basic desktop PC and LCD monitor, 10 minutes of support at half load (250W) and three minutes of support at full load (500W). This highly efficient UPS helps you save money and energy.

Automatic voltage regulation (AVR) maintains 120V nominal output over an input range of 89V to 139V without using battery power. EMI/RFI noise filtering improves your equipment's performance and prevents damage. A 1038-joule surge suppression rating protects your equipment from harmful power surges. With Tripp Lite's free PowerAlert software (available via web download), the SMART1000LCDU enables safe unattended system shutdown and file saves in case of a prolonged power failure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ALL AROUND QUALITY!Right out of the box my SMART1000 powered up! I had a problem with the downloaded PowerAlert software that was quickly corrected by a technician. I use my unit to protect my all-in-one Windows desktop computer, router, modem, and printer from surges, spikes, and brownouts. I am glad I got a unit with AVR.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ProductHave these currently in use with multiple systems. Excellent battery back-up and surge protection, as the summer storms here often cause major power outages. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent productI have two of these. Each has a TV connected and laptop, DVD. The first one is at least four years old. One at bedroom the other at the familyroom which allowed me to monitor an electrical problem within the house wiring. The LED screen was very helpful at seeing the incoming voltage variations when the alarm sounded-off. Showed electrician the LED screen photos which helped. Would buy more when the need arises.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Last almost forever; work well in many situationsI have several of these in my AV cupboard protecting TiVos, network equipment, DVD player, AV receiver, etc, etc. They cover me when the power goes out for about 20 seconds while my generator comes on, and continue to protect against overvoltages etc, while the power is out. They are trouble free, worry-free, and utterly reliable. I have one that has lasted about ten years, and I have only replaced one or two batteries in that time. The only problem I have is that my oldest one has a very faded LCD screen that is now difficult to read, but it keeps working just the same. i tried another brand that is well-known and it had difficult compensating for overvoltages.
