Tripp Lite's USB-powered VGA over Cat5 Extender Kit allows you to extend a 1920 x 1440(60Hz) signal up to 106.68 m (350 ft.), or a 1024 x 768(60Hz) signal up to 152.4 m (500-ft.), when using 24Awg, Solid Wire Cat5e/6 cable, such as Tripp Lite's N022-01K-GY(Cat5) and N222-01K-GY(Cat6). Ideal for digital signage applications, classroom or auditorium projectors, and more. Extender draws needed power from a USB connection at the computer...no external AC adapters required. Receiver unit includes Gain adjustment for brightness/darkness control, and Equalization adjustment for sharp, clear images. VGA "dongles" allow for direct attachment to video equipment...no additional VGA cables required. Kit includes a Transmitter with VGA and USB(power) pigtails, and a Receiver with VGA pigtail. Also included is a small adjustment screwdriver for the EQ and GAIN controls.

Rated 5 out of 5 bySmitty from Great product - but one caution.Our testing indicated it works well. As you approach the distance limitation, we saw some slight waviness to the image - mostly noticable when looking close at smaller fonts. One caution: The local unit sends power to the remote unit at 15 volts over what would be data lines for Ethernet. If you plug the local unit into a LAN connection instead of a video connection, you're likely going to blow the network device that is plugged into the far end of that cable. You might consider the B130-101 if this is of concern to you. Ideally, Tripp-Lite will fix this in the next model by moving the power to what would otherwise be PoE lines and building in detection for a non-PoE Gigabit Ethernet device being connected so no damage could occur.

Rated 5 out of 5 byRick from Spotty perfromanceWe have several of these deployed using a high end video splitter. Remote units often fail to work after a time and they get hot. Unplug to cool and they work again. Image quality is poor even after adjusting the screws on the remote unit. Between poor image quality and unreliable performance, we are going to look at another option. Clearly, you get what you pay for.
