Tripp Lite's OMNI VS1500 line interactive UPS system offers voltage regulation, surge suppression and battery support for personal computers, internetworking equipment and other sensitive electronics. Internal UPS batteries support entry level PC systems for up to 75 minutes during power failures so that connected equipment can be shut down without data loss. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) circuits regulate brownouts as low as 75 and overvoltages up to 147 volts back to usable 120V levels without using battery power. Offers complete desktop power protection in an attractive black tower configuration. Includes 5 battery supported outlets for computer, monitor and vital system peripherals, plus 3 additional surge suppression only outlets for printers and other system accessories not requiring battery support. USB port enables optional unattended system shutdown without data loss in the case of extended power failure (USB cable included). Built-in data line suppression offers protection for equipment with single line TEL/DSL or network Ethernet connection. Built-in audible alarm and 5 front panel LEDs indicate status of line power, battery power, battery low/replace, voltage regulation and overload. 1500VA power handling ability supports entry-level PCs, network workstations, point-of-sale equipment, small business phone systems, audio/video equipment and home theater systems. Offers 4 minutes battery runtime with a full load of 1500VA and 8.5 minutes with a half load of 750VA. Supports hot-swappable battery replacement via built-in access panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 byrtaecker from Great Backup PowerI actually have one like this ,and 2 1000va Tripp-lite UPS . They have never failed me I use these for my Desktop system . I backup my sound and printers and a light . I highly recommend Tripp-lite over any other brand . Where I live the power at the plug can very a great deal as much as 60 volts . The two smart 1000 units display the line voltage . I know I'm safe in any event .

The shallow depth makes it much easier to plug/unplug as I go w/o having to drag those long skinny ones out, often pulling out a plug. The design is better than low profile UPS: I can see all indicators above the clutter on my desk (indicators are at the top of the mini-tower), not hidden at surface level requiring me to move speakers, keyboards, etc, to see what the status is or operate the device. GOOD PRODUCT Tripplite!

We put it in to replace an older UPS of another brand which failed. This works great to keep our network devices, small server and NAS up. We plugged everything in to it, let it run for a bit and then killed the breaker to it and it all stayed up perfectly. After ten minutes we turned the power back on and it kept working without a hitch. Can't ask for more than that.

If I have a Warranty issue the techs are very courteous and helpful, sending parts when necessary. We will continue to use these to protect our high end workstations.

Rated 5 out of 5 byhomeschool from dependable but warmI bought an OMNIVS1500 last year for my personal use because I lived in North Dakota with brown outs and outages constantly. I have used bigger Tripplites for years and haven't had any problems with them (I'm a network engineer). This one works well but It doesn't have the voltage monitoring and history the bigger ones have and I miss that. It clicks on fast enough that I don't loose my computer and can shut it down when I am ready. It also seems to even out the power fluctations. Have continued to play World of Warcraft for 20 minutes after power went out. I keep my dsl modem, pc, monitor and TV on it. Seems not to be bothered by the microwave and airconditioner cycling. Only drawback it's heavy and produces a moderate amount of heat. I am happy with it's performance and would recommend this one for home use or a small server rack.

It allows me to hear the audible alert and safely shut the workstation down. I wish the unit offered auto shut down and a slightly longer work time, but other than that, works great.
