CDW Canada Corp. Higher Education Contest 2026 Official Contest Rules
CONTEST ENTRY DEADLINE: 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, October 30, 2026.
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING THE CONTEST.
CONTEST ADMINISTRATOR AND SPONSOR: The CDW Canada Higher Education Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored and administered by CDW Canada Corp. (“CDW” or “Sponsor”), with offices at 185 The West Mall, Suite 1700, Etobicoke, ON, M9C 5L5.
CONTEST ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to accredited higher education institutions located in Canada, provided that the campus on whose behalf the Entry (defined below) is submitted (the "Campus") is located in a province or territory other than Québec (each an “Eligible Institution”). The individual submitting the Entry on behalf of an Eligible Institution (each, an “Entrant”) must, at the time of entry: (a) be a faculty member, instructor, staff member or administrator employed by and working full-time or part-time at the Eligible Institution, at the Campus; (b) be of the age of majority in their province or territory of residence; (c) be a legal resident of, and currently living in, Canada, other than a resident of Québec (residents of Québec are not eligible to enter the Contest); and (d) be authorized by the Eligible Institution to enter the Contest on the institution's behalf. As used in these Official Contest Rules (the “Rules”), the terms “you” and “your” refer to an Entrant and, where the context requires, the Eligible Institution on whose behalf the Entrant submits an Entry.
Any person whose duties at the Eligible Institution include, or who otherwise participates in, procurement or purchasing decisions related to CDW products or services is not eligible to enter the Contest. Any person, including without limitation any public sector employee, who is prohibited by any law, regulation or policy (including without limitation any policy imposed by their employer or Eligible Institution) from entering this Contest on behalf of an Eligible Institution or from accepting or facilitating acceptance of the Prize (defined below) by an Eligible Institution is not eligible to enter the Contest. Any employee of a Contest Entity (defined below) or its parent, affiliated or related companies, and any person who is domiciled with a Contest Entity employee or an employee of a Contest Entity’s parent, affiliated or related companies, and their immediate family members, are not eligible to enter the Contest. “Contest Entity” means CDW, any manufacturer, supplier or other provider of products included in the Prize (each, a “Prize Provider”), and their respective agents, promotional and advertising agencies.
Proof of eligibility of the Entrant and Eligible Institution, including proof of authority to enter the Contest and authority and permission for the Eligible Institution to accept the Prize, may be required before or after selection and before any public announcement, in a form acceptable to CDW. Failure to provide such proof in a timely manner may result in disqualification.
CONTEST ENTRY PERIOD: The Contest begins at 12:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, October 30, 2026 (the “Contest Period”).
HOW TO ENTER: For the Entrant’s Eligible Institution to be eligible to win a Prize, each Entrant must, during the Contest Period, fill out online and submit the Submission Form provided at www.cdw.ca/highereducationcontest, AND submit an Essay Entry as described below. The completed Submission Form together with the Essay Entry submitted by an Entrant are collectively referred to as an "Entry". The Submission Form will require the Entrant to provide the following information: (a) Entrant’s full legal name, (b) institution name, (c) Entrant’s position/department at the institution, (d) institution phone number, (e) Entrant’s work email address, and (f) institution mailing address.
FOR ESSAY ENTRIES: The Entrant must write and submit in the space provided in the Submission Form an original essay of up to 50 words that answers the question “How does technology transform post-secondary learning environments?” (“Essay Entry”).
Each Entry must be submitted in accordance with these Rules prior to the end of the Contest Period. There is a limit of one (1) Entry per Entrant. For clarity, multiple entries per Eligible Institution are permitted, but each Entry must be written in unique language and provide a unique response to the Essay Entry question. Repetitive entries may be disqualified. Incomplete, bulk, illegible or inaccessible Entries of any kind may be deemed ineligible, in the sole discretion of CDW.
The Entry must be written or created and submitted by the Entrant specifically for the purpose of entering the Contest, must be original to the Entrant, and must describe the Entrant’s personal experience or opinion, or the experience or opinion of the Eligible Institution. An Entry that does not specifically fit the requirements set forth in these Rules may be disqualified at the sole discretion of CDW. All Entries must be in a written format: videos, photographs or other forms of Entry will not be accepted.
The Entrant is solely responsible for ensuring that their Entry is submitted in compliance with these Rules.
AGREEMENT TO RULES: By participating in the Contest, you confirm and agree that you, your Entry and your Eligible Institution comply with all applicable conditions stated in these Rules. You fully and unconditionally agree to abide by, be bound by, and accept these Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. Whether or not you receive a Prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth in these Rules, being chosen as a potential winner through the processes described in these Rules, and having your eligibility and that of the Eligible Institution confirmed by the Sponsor.
Entrants assume all risk of damaged, lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, inaccessible or illegible Entries.
CONTEST DRAW: Only Entries that comply with these Rules (“Eligible Entries”) are eligible to win a Prize. Four (4) winning Entries will be selected by CDW at random from the Eligible Entries (each Entrant whose Entry is so selected, a "Selected Entrant"), for each Entrant’s Eligible Institution to be eligible to receive a Prize specified below. A maximum of one (1) Prize will be awarded per Eligible Institution. If an Entry is drawn on behalf of an Eligible Institution that has already been drawn, that Entry will be set aside and a further Entry will be drawn at random until four (4) Entries submitted on behalf of four (4) different Eligible Institutions have been selected. The Eligible Institution of the first Entry drawn will be eligible to receive Prize A, the second Prize B, the third Prize C and the fourth Prize D, each as described below. Prizes are not selectable by the Selected Entrant or the Eligible Institution. If a Prize, or any component of a Prize, cannot be supplied or delivered to a particular Eligible Institution due to unavailability, delivery or site constraints, or other circumstances beyond CDW's reasonable control, CDW may substitute a component of comparable function and of equal or greater approximate retail value or assign a different Prize of equal or greater approximate retail value to that Eligible Institution. This selection will be completed by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, November 13, 2026 (“Award Date”).
Odds of winning a Prize in the Contest will depend on the number of Eligible Entries received during the Contest Period. Prizes are not allocated by region; all Eligible Entries will be entered into the same random draw. Four (4) Prizes will be awarded. CDW reserves the right not to award any or all Prizes if insufficient Eligible Entries are received or if awarding a Prize would be unlawful or impracticable due to circumstances beyond CDW’s reasonable control.
PRIZES: Subject to each Selected Entrant’s, Entry’s and Eligible Institution's compliance with these Rules, the Eligible Institution of each Entrant whose Entry was selected on the Award Date (each Entry so selected, a “Selected Entry”) will be eligible to receive one (1) prize, which will consist of one (1) of the four (4) technology product bundles assembled by CDW and described below (each, a “Prize”). Each Prize consists of the products listed below for the applicable bundle, and has the approximate retail value stated for that bundle; those values range from CAD $5,069.99 to CAD $5,321.00. Each Prize is awarded to, and for the use of, the Eligible Institution. No Entrant, Institution Representative or other individual acquires any personal ownership of, or any right to retain for personal use, any Prize or Prize component. Specific brands, models, quantities and components are subject to availability and may be substituted or varied by CDW with products of comparable function and of equal or greater approximate retail value, provided that each Prize has an approximate retail value of not less than the approximate retail value stated below for that bundle. The approximate retail value of each Prize is an estimate only, and any difference between the stated approximate retail value and the actual value of a Prize as awarded will not be awarded and has no cash value. Any product examples used in advertising or promotional materials are representative only unless expressly identified as guaranteed components of a Prize. Any costs or expenses not expressly described as included in a Prize are excluded.

PRIZE AWARDS: Each Selected Entrant will be notified via email from a CDW representative to the Selected Entrant’s work email account set forth in the Submission Form no later than seven (7) business days from the Award Date (“Award Notice”). The Award Notice is not notice that a Prize has been won: no Prize is won, and no Eligible Institution is entitled to a Prize, unless and until CDW has verified the Selected Entrant and the Eligible Institution in accordance with these Rules. The Award Notice will include a Statement of Eligibility and Publicity and Prize Release (“Statement”) to be completed and signed by the Entrant and by a person, who may be the Entrant if they satisfy the requirements below, employed by the Eligible Institution who is authorized to confirm eligibility of the institution to receive the Prize and to accept the Prize on behalf of the Eligible Institution, and who is at least the age of majority in their province or territory of residence (“Institution Representative”).
In order for the Eligible Institution to be eligible to win the Prize, the Selected Entrant must have complied with these Rules, and the Selected Entrant and Institution Representative, on behalf of the Eligible Institution, must complete and execute the Statement, and submit it to CDW at the email address indicated in the Award Notice, within ten (10) business days of the sending of the Award Notice by CDW. The Statement will require the Selected Entrant, confirmed by the Institution Representative, as applicable, among other things, to:
1. identify the Eligible Institution;
2. confirm that their entry into the Contest, and acceptance of the Prize by the Eligible Institution, does not violate the policies of the Eligible Institution or any other applicable law, regulation or policy;
3. confirm compliance with these Rules;
4. confirm acceptance of the Prize as awarded;
5. consent to CDW’s, its parents’ and affiliates’ use, publication or broadcast of the Entrant’s Essay Entry, Entrant’s first name, first initial of last name, title and/or any photographs voluntarily provided to CDW in connection with the Contest, name, city and province of the Eligible Institution, and name and title of Institution Representative, for prize verification and advertising or promotional purposes in connection with the Contest, without further notice or compensation, except where prohibited by law (for clarity, CDW may choose not to advertise or promote Contest results, or to include any of the above details in any such advertisement or promotion, at its sole discretion);
6. grant CDW, and procure that the Institution Representative on behalf of the Eligible Institution grants CDW to the extent the Eligible Institution owns or controls any rights in the Entry, a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable, sublicensable and transferable licence to use, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, adapt and otherwise exploit the Entry in connection with the Contest and CDW’s related advertising and promotional activities, including the right to post the Entry to www.cdw.ca/highereducationcontest or other CDW websites or materials, at CDW’s sole discretion, and waive all of Entrant’s moral rights in and to the Entry in favour of CDW; and
7. make certain representations and warranties in respect of their Entry, including originality.
The Selected Entrant must also correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question, requiring more than one mathematical operation, without mechanical, electronic or other assistance, which is included on the Statement. The Statement must be signed by the Selected Entrant, Institution Representative and a witness, and returned to CDW as instructed in the Statement. If the same individual serves as both Selected Entrant and Institution Representative, that individual must sign the Statement in both capacities.
When the correctly completed and signed Statement (including skill-testing question) is received by CDW within the applicable time frame, CDW has confirmed the Selected Entrant’s and Eligible Institution's compliance with the Rules, and any required proof of authority and permission to accept the Prize has been provided, the Eligible Institution will be declared a “Prize Winner”. CDW may delay or withhold any public announcement of a Selected Entrant, Eligible Institution or Prize Winner until CDW has completed its verification process. In the event of: (a) non-compliance with the Rules; (b) if the Selected Entrant cannot be reached in accordance with the Rules or does not respond within ten (10) business days of the sending of the Award Notice by CDW; (c) if the Prize is returned as unclaimed or undeliverable; or (d) if the Statement (including skill-testing question) is not fully and correctly completed, signed and submitted by the Selected Entrant and Institution Representative within the required time frame, such Selected Entrant will be deemed to have forfeited the Prize and an alternate Entrant may be randomly selected in CDW’s sole discretion. The same Rules will apply to any substitute Selected Entrant. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any Prize not claimed and verified in accordance with these Rules by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, January 15, 2027 will not be awarded.
Each Prize must be accepted by the Prize Winner as awarded. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. CDW makes no representations or warranties, whether express or implied, regarding the quality or suitability of any Prize.
Each Prize will be delivered to the Prize Winner within thirty (30) business days of receipt by CDW of the correctly completed and signed Statement, to the Campus mailing address provided on the Statement, subject to shipping carrier availability and delays beyond CDW’s reasonable control. Risk of loss of and damage to a Prize passes to the Prize Winner on delivery of the Prize to the shipping carrier. CDW is not responsible for any damage to or loss of the Prize that may occur as a result of, or in the course of, delivery of the Prize. CDW is not responsible for any damage to or loss of the Prize that may occur after the Prize is delivered to the Prize Winner. Installation, configuration, maintenance, support, warranties from CDW and any ancillary products or services are not included unless expressly stated by CDW in writing. Any manufacturer's warranty applicable to a Prize component is provided by, and runs directly from the manufacturer to the Prize Winner on that manufacturer's standard terms, and CDW has no obligation to provide, transfer, administer or enforce any such warranty. Any claim under a manufacturer's warranty must be made by the Prize Winner directly to the applicable manufacturer.
DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION: In order to submit an Entry in the Contest, each Entrant will be required to disclose their full legal name, the name of the Eligible Institution where they are employed and working, the name, city and province or territory of the Campus, their position/department at the institution, the Campus phone number, their work email address and the Campus mailing address. In order for the Eligible Institution to be awarded the Prize, in addition to the foregoing, the Selected Entrant will have to disclose the Entrant’s province or territory of residence, the work email address of the Institution Representative, and such other information as required by the Statement. Certain of this information is or may be considered to be “Personal Information”. By submitting an Entry, each Entrant expressly consents to the collection, storage, use, disclosure and retention of their Personal Information by CDW, its Prize Providers and its promotional and advertising agencies for the purposes of administering the Contest, notifying the Selected Entrant, announcing the Prize Winner, verifying the Prize Winner with Prize Providers, and otherwise as permitted pursuant to CDW’s privacy policy, a copy of which can be found at https://www.cdw.ca/content/cdwca/en/terms-conditions/privacy-notice.html. CDW reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual (and their Contest Entries) who tampers with the entry process. CDW assumes no responsibility for Contest Entries which are lost, stolen, delayed, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, illegible, inaccessible or unintelligible for any reason including without limitation: (a) failure of the website www.cdw.ca/highereducationcontest, the Submission Form, any link, or the Internet, during the Contest Period; (b) any failure or malfunction of any telephone or cable line or other means of transmission, or any computer or other equipment or software; (c) any errors in transmission, or delivery of the Prize; (d) failure of any email, or online entry, if applicable, to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website; (e) any condition caused by events beyond the control of CDW that may cause damage to an Entrant’s, Eligible Institution's, Institution Representative’s or any other person’s computer, including downloading any material from the CDW website at www.cdw.ca; or (f) any combination of the foregoing.
