Brother cartridges produce crisp. printing. I've earned my lesson and want buy anything other than Brother genuine toner cartridges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from printer does not live up to expectation-ink cartridge issue I agree completely with the reviews that say that the cartridge does not yield the 3000 pages it is supposed to. I bought this printer 3 weeks ago and have gone through the cartridge that came with the printer already and was no where near 3000 pages. The printer is fine but with the high cost of cartridges that do not live up to what Brothers says should be the expected page yield I would not recommend this printer. I would like Brothers to explain how this can be the case.

Specifically, the printer display says "Replace toner" and won't print anymore even though the toner still prints fine. Very frustrating!

I tossed my Epson inkjet as in 3 years, I have only printed a couple dozen pages and was always clogged when so infrequently used. Hope this laser is always going to work. I will probably use it more because I hope I don't have to fight to use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for small business. I have a couple Brother printers here in the office that use this TN-760 cartridge and they consistently exceed the estimated page count. I've had the same experience with previous models including the one I've had at home for the last 6 years. YMMV, if you are printing something other than text documents with bar codes and engineering drawings. I can project a budget and meet it every time plus I can send the empty cartridge back to be recycled.

I am not printing out images. I think brother must have reduced the amount of toner in the cartridge so we have to buy it much more often. Too exoensive!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Poor Quality, Much less print & hard to set I purchased this new(Blue Box TN-760 toner from Sam’s Club. Wow what a disappointment! First it was hard to set up with the turning on the knob. My husband and I had to watch a YouTube video on how to get the toner lined-up.Still it took 30-35 minutes. I am a Notary Loan Closer and I highly depends on my Brother printer and toner to put out quantity and quality documents. There were so many problems with this new toner, I was very late for my closing and the print quality very gloomy and not rich and dark black like the original (white box) TN-760 and It ran out fast. I want my money back. This New (Blue Box) poor quality, hard to prepare to install and runs out of toner fast. I may need to report this to Sam Club to remove immediately due to not being practical, poor quality and quantity of 3000 print is false (Out of toner show up after 1000 or less). This is really bad!

Now 2nd printer same issue. What is up with this? I have tracked my printing and have issues. Seems like we are paying for less tonner in unit or the gauge is off on printers?

The amount of copies that is received from each cartridge is far less that the advertise 3000 copies, as a small Real Estate office with two persons, we have found that the amount of copies received before the exchange is not worth the price.

Recently for the passed two times I replaced the cartridge which gave an average use of three months,I notice inadequacy. During each replacement the notice Low in towner pops up. It became a concern when my credit card was charge for a new cartridge and product shipped to my home. My printer is for home use and this observation of cartridge deficiency altered my perception of this product functionality. Big Brother stops from printing until you buy another cartridge...you the customer cannot get around the "need" for new toner regardless if you could live with a lighter print job. Might be time to buy a different company's machine...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am extremely happy with this printer I have read the reviews left on this list and I am baffled. I am an IT manager, and have swapped many of the old HP printers we use for Brother printers now because of cost savings, quality, and lack of bloat software. I read the reviews on here and they sound like they have been written by the same person... as in, they don't sound like legitimate reviews. I will say that the high end print numbers really require that you not print on "high quality" settings, but rather on normal or even draft. Draft is plenty dark enough for most print jobs. I also want to point out that there is no inkjet that can come close to the print cost of a laser... laser wins everytime no matter what scenario you are in. As for aftermarket toners, About the only brother printers I have replaced in the last 5 years or so have been where people used aftermarket toners. Those toners DO actually shorten the life of a printer for some reason. And lets be honest, these toners are very reasonably priced... always trying to save a penny will cost you more in the long run, especially in electronics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toner didn't last even a few weeks I printed.. maybe 300 black and white power point pages in the last 2 weeks. Just installed my brand new printer. Already need to replace my toner. Pretty incredible. This feels intentional - like deliberate obsolenence to cost your customers money, if not, this is borderline defective. I have a home office stipend I used to buy this printer, I have to talk to my company about getting a new printer from one of your competitors.

Now in the middle of a large printout the printer will not print, as it says I need to replace the toner cartridge. The printouts are of excellent quality so I should not have to change the toner. I tried a couple of work-arounds which did not work. Always before I would ignore the "LOW TONER" warning until the printouts no longer had good quality. I must say I was able to continue printing for a very long time. I can only guess that now Brother has perhaps added a counter to the toner cartridge so that I really must change the toner. This means that the premium I am paying to buy Brother toner is beyond wasteful. I will begin trying off-brand toner for my next replacement.

The stated yield on the Brother toner cartridge is aprox. 3000 pages. I have printed less than 400 pages of simple text and am being told to replace toner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toner didn't last long We were surprised that the toner didn't last long. We didn't print over 500 pages. My dad bought the printer a few months ago, I don't know if he bought the cartridge separately or it came with the printer, but we thought maybe it's because it's the first cartridge. The quality was still excellent when the toner message came on, and we couldn't print anymore. So if we didn't have a backup toner cartridge, we would have been stuck until we got one. There should be an option to print inferiorly, especially in case of "emergencies". I hope this short toner cartridge life isn't the norm, but seeing all these reviews saying the same thing, it looks like it is. I think brother should look at making products that are more flexible to use and to fix. Let's not contribute to a throw-away world. We had to get rid of our last brother printer because there was no way to fix it. It still worked and printed, it was just splotchy. To buy a new part would have cost more than the printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Control Issue? I bought my Brother 2 1/2 years ago. Have been using it from home a lot more since the COVID thing. I have gone through 4 cartridges since I bought it. Fax don't work worth a crat but scan and copy work well. Paper yield isn't as bad as some customers are complaining, maybe it's a quality control issue at the factory! I got a good one and as much as I use it I hope it never breaks, but if it does, I'll go out and but the exact same thing again, minus the fax. You would think they would have some sort of price discount for repeat buyers of their cartridges

I maximized yield by changing the default settings to draft and to conserve toner. So far, I've printed about 3400 pages and still have 10% of the toner left. So everyone: change your settings to conserve toner and print draft copies (which still look perfect to me).

Would like to be able to keep printing until the cartridge is actually out of toner, rather than when the printer decides you need to spend more money on toner. One would think that there would be even a slight degradation in print quality if it's actually out of toner. Yes, read all the copy and paste responses, 3000 pages is based on "ISO print standards", which I assume means printing the letters "ISO" in 8 pt font once per page. Doubt I will get a different response.

It doesn't seem to age out over time, but works well from beginning to end. Also it was easy to install the replacement cartridge, which had been on my study shelf for all of that time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TN-760 did not print 3000 pages as advertised I checked the print counter when I inserted a new TN-760 "high yield" toner cartridge in my new MFC-2750DW (drum counter page start = 635 on 6 Nov 2019; the first 635 drum pages apply to the toner cartridge that came with the new printer). When the "replace toner" warning popped up I checked the drum page counter (counter page stop = 2704). A little math .... 2704 drum counter pages - 635 copies from previous toner cartridge = 2069 copies on a high yield toner cartridge that advertises 3000 copies!!! Very disappointed.

Since then, I blew through the cartridge that came with it and now almost through the second TN760 high yield. My costs for ink went up with this purchase, but calculated that the extra 400 page yield claimed would make up for it. As of now, I am yielding less than what I was previously and spending more!

I am very familiar with how much paper I am loading and how often I need to replace the toner cartridges. I have been a great fan of Brother products for several years and overall have been happy with their machines and accessory performance. However, with no change in the coverage in what I am printing, lately my toner is requiring replacement when not even half of the stated paper count has been used. Considering the very high cost of these cartridges (on their own and versus competitive products I find this decline to be totally unacceptable. I had been willing to pay more for the "high yield" cartridge when I thought I was getting extra value, but now will be considering the purchase of a competitive product for which my costs will be more in line with promises and expectations.

The printer fonts are always the same size due to my notary business so I should be getting 3000 pages per cartridge, but that is not happening. Please help me to understand what is happening.

I don’t have time to worry about an exact number printed but I do know that with the many companies out there trying to sell the product or refill bottle that is overwhelming. I just stick to you get what you pay for. I want my machine to keep preforming at its best so I will stick to paying for the real toner. Thank you

I haven't' even gotten through one 500 pack of paper and my machine is telling me my ink is low!! I only print in black and white with no solid spaces, just typing. What does one have to do to actually get the ink jet to print as many sheets as you say it will?
