NOT GREAT BUT YOU GOTTA HAVE IT.
This is my 4th 65 Watt 3 prong AC adapter. The power cord is great....good and heavy and holds up fine. But the cord leading to the computer is flimsy and the black-covering around the wires breaks really easily with movement. These darned things are NOT cheap and should hold up. Dell has you over a barrel because the correct fitting into the computer is hard to find in the computer stores and if you do find one that fits you get an error code when using it unless it is made by Dell.

POOR QUALITY POWER CORD AND BATTERY
This was the THIRD power cord for this pc. Dell needs to make the plug in part as a solid right angle such as that used by HP. your flexible connector is under constant tension and then the connection fails. I have also had to replace the battery and the battery life has always been very short. I have never gotten 2 hours of battery life and I find that totally unacceptable. When this power cord fails and it will fail, I'll be buying another pc and most probably not a Dell. WHOEVER READS THIS NEEDS TO SEND A COPY TO MANAGEMENT!

A rotten horrible design, 3rd cord broken
Dell needs to improve their power cord. This is the 3rd power cord I have gone through in 3 years. I am not rough with my computer at all. It is a poorly designed cord. It is not covered by their extended warranty. It's not like Dell doesn't know about this issue as I have seen multiple complaints about the same cord and it's design. The last time I paid for the cord it was about $69, so that's roughly $140 dollars on 2 cords in one year and 4 months, just a few months over the 1 year warranty on the first cord I bought. The first cord came with the computer and it broke. Overall pretty disgusted with having to put out that much money on a 2 cords, while my computer is under warranty. They need to change the design on this cord as it just lasts long enough to beat out the cord's 1 year warranty and then you have to replace it. Dell you are better than this.

Check wattage compatibility closely
Make sure wattage is correct for your laptop. Ordered a second charger based on Dell's online drop list of laptop models the charger was compatible with and then when received and plugged in got on screen message that the 65.0 W charger was underpowered for optimum performance. When I got back to my original charger I discovered it was a 90.0 W charger. So not sure if I missed something on the compatibility list or what. That said, other than the annoying message about being not for optimal performance, it does seem to charge the laptop in reasonable time.

Much Better!
I was having major problems with my Universal Charger. It kept coming off from the laptop outlet. I had to hold it with my left hand, and still had trouble charging. The Geeks suggested to contact DeLL and purchase a DeLL charger. I couldn´t wait till it arrived. Now the new charger works great. However, it still comes off a little bit and have to keep an eye on it to make sure it is charging. I don´t think it is the charger itself, but the DeLL Laptop connecting devise.

Not pleased
I put a new battery into the Dell Inspiron laptop because the last replacement Dell cord I had made the computer give messages of “use 45 or higher or computer will not function properly or charge.” That cord got chewed and I replaced the battery with the new cord Dell recommended (it was the same as the last replacement cord). It was okay for about a week and now I’m getting the same message to use a different cord even the the one the message says to use is the one I have been using.

Poor fit, constantly getting errors, searching for Power Supply
Since Dell is proprietary, there is no such thing as a generic fix. It has to be a Dell only power supply. This is the second one that I was told by Dell Personnel, that was the replacement for my laptop. The Plug into the computer is a poor fit and I have to constantly push it in. The battery drains and I get an error saying that the computer does not recognize the power supply. I will NEVER buy another Dell product!! Overpriced and poor performance!

If your looking for overpriced and reliable you have found the perfect charger
The only reason I am on this page is so that I can buy my 4th charger within the passed 10 months . I know , I’m such a lucky girl that I get the privilege to buy another one. The piece to my current one snapped off so I got the honor to try to finish a presentation for work with only 12% left (I failed), I swear the adrenaline from that task almost distracted me from the fact that I have now spent more money on these stupid chargers than I did to buy the laptop off of a friend . I am 99% sure I will never even get another dell laptop just because if I have to dump this ridiculous amount of money to Charge it . I will say though these chargers do have the fun component of helping you practice rage control when you have to shell out big bucks for a charger that was probably $2.50 to make .

BREAKS EASILY
The prong within the charger itself bent after a few months. It’s extremely difficult but I had to straighten the prong inside. When I plug it in, I have to turn it until my battery icon shows that it is actually charging. If it doesn’t, my computer will barely hold a charge and I get a notification saying it will cause it to lose battery because of the poor connection. Chargers shouldn’t break this easily.

Dell adapter causing charging issues
It looks like I have the same issue as many other reviewers with getting error messages about needing an official Dell adapter (which it is and is the one that came with the computer). Of course it took months for the issue to become a full stop, not charging at all and not tiring on- and then the warranty is over. I guess I will have to continue to buy adapters as well until I need new computer- which won’t be a Dell. It is irresponsible to have not sent out a recall notice for this issue to be fixed

It's already failed....less than 3 months old!!
So Dell has a device of some sort that my Dell Aspirion "knows" when I have it plugged into a "genuine" Dell power supply. How do I know this? The Dell power supply that came with my laptop failed and as a result the computer powers up with an error message, my laptop won't charge and to top it off, Dell sets the PC in some sort of power-save mode and the processor slows down to a snail's speed. My PC repair friend showed me this fact. It's frustrating. This is now the 3rd power supply cord I have bought. When I received it, things were fine, but now, like the previous 3 power cords that failed, this time in less than 3 months. I can barely use my Dell laptop. I am convinced to never buy Dell again, since they can't seem to let me turn on my PC.

The current "smaller diameter" plug that goes into the computer doesn't seem to stay in as well as the older larger diameter plug. I have has numerous dell laptops and this is the first where the wires from the plug pulled loose. In addition, because of the change in diameter, I could not use one of the older power cords that I have. Hopefully this problem will not recur durine the lifespan of the laptop.

How would you know- no tech detail on tip size
A big problem in industry is lack of detail and inaccurate info, this adaptor LOOKS great, but dell lists 4 adaptors for my inspiron 7348 which requires 65 watss, and one of the 'compatible' listings is a 45 watt model- THAT would have killed my battery ! This one 'looks good' but just ordered a 'compatible' from elsewhere and got a 45 watt and wrong tip.....what fun, so not about to order this unless they publish the tip size on both the specs for my pc and the specs for this adaptor...Dell, please help

Dell Battery won't charge even with OEM parts
It did not fix the problem! I replaced both the battery and the charger and it still won't charge my computer. It says, "Plugged in, not charging"

Big improvement over the original
My old cord got a split in it. So I needed a new one. I was happy to see how nicely this now adapter was over the original one! Not any issue with using it on my XPS-13 laptop. Excellent use of my Dell earned points!

As good as original adapter
It works equally as well as the original, which I still use in a different location. In fact, I don’t know which is the original and which is the replacement.

Poor Quality & Durability
Poor quality & durability. I purchased this as a replacement for one that was giving "adapter not recognized" messages. This one worked great at first but after just a few months is resulting in the same error message.

Bad adapter
Had this laptop for a couple of years, I recently used it more often and the adapter is a defect. It barely charge on and off now it’s dead! I don’t recommend anyone to buy sell products anymore after I went though a few and it’s usually a problem with the dc jack or adapter. It’s made in China so it explains it all. They need quality control.

AC Adapter didn't work
I ordered this AC Adapter to replace the one that originally came with my computer because for some reason my laptop would no longer charge. I bought another battery, didn't work, then a new AC adapter, didn't work. I had to take my computer in to get it fixed and now it will charge but not with the ac adapter I just bought from Dell. I don't know if I just got a detective one or what exactly is going on.

This is the third one (counting the one that came with the computer)...
The power supply itself is fine. The connector at the computer end, however, is the weak link. This is the third power supply (counting the one that came with the computer in less than 3 years that I've needed. The first two died in the same way - the connector at the end of the DC cable ultimately breaks one of the wires due to flexing over time and there is no way to replace just the connector, so the whole power supply has to be replaced. Pretty expensive way to replace a failed cable/connector junction.

Dell 65-Watt 3-Prong AC Adapter
My original 45W adapter died after only a year and a half, poor show there so only three stars!! No warranty, so upgraded to 65W, expensive, but a Dell product, not off market brand, to make sure it was compatible with my Inspuron 15.

65 watt 3 prong adapter
The 65 watt 3 prong adapter and 6foot cord is great but I ordered the wrong one. The adapter is smaller than what I needed. I decided to just keep it.

Solid second power supply
I decided to purchase a genuine Dell power cord after having difficulties with a generic knockoff. I'm happy with the product.
I would give it 5 stars if the price were reasonable.

Dell ships the wrong model adapter. Use caution when ordering. Call Dell - don't trust the parts based only on your service tag.
Laptop requires 95 watt. Model and service tag linked to 65 watt which will not work. Not actually possible to buy the correct adapter without actually calling Dell. So why does Dell link a part that will not work to a specific laptop???

Poor
My computer had a 90 watt power cord sales said the best it could do was 45 or 60 watt. I ordered 60 but computer said I was under powered. Disappointed I couldn’t get original part.

Go with OEM parts, but there are drawbacks
I always recommend using OEM parts, and AC adapters are included. Performs well, but the connectors fail after repeated use (e.g., isn't always recognized as plugged in). Biggest complaint is the cost.

Better charger
This is the style charger that should come with the laptop in the first place. I know it's cheaper to include the 40 watt or what ever that comes standard, but the 3 foot cord is real limiting at times. The brick will hang in the air putting undue stress on both the connector of your laptop and on the bricks cord that plugs in. My original adapter failed right at the end that plugs into the laptop and I would have to wiggle it every time I plugged it in to get it to charge up my computer. Come on dell, if you don't want to pony up and give us this adapter standard, at least make the standard charger longer.

Dell Inspiron power cord and adapter.
This is my second one in three years of owning my Dell Laptop. The original one broke in several places exposing the inner wiring exposing me to electric shock. It is the first power cord of all my electrical items I own that disintegrated like this. I paid a hefty price to replace it. I’m being super careful with the new one.

It doesn't surprise me that the power cord I ordered was perfect because I can always trust what I get from Dell.
