How deceptive I looked and looked and cannot see where it tells you this is a black and white printer. It says it has a color screen which kind of says it could be color. Ill stick with HP at least their upfront. Customer service doesn't sound great and I'm tired of dealing with people that you cant understand very well

It enabled the paper to be fed into the machine one at a time. I called to have this replaced and found out I was not able too. We then had to continue putting the paper in one at a time. Very annoying for a busy office. We finally had to purchase a better machine all for a 1/2 inch square piece of rubber.

I had the same model printer previously was very good it can be used for about 2-3 years and bought and keep the the same model for last two time. Recently I bought on November 28, 2022, the printer has always made squeaky sound so loudly. I tried to found contact and talk to support but can’t find telephone number! Please advise me how to fix the squeaky sound properly? Thank you

Scanning documents is terrific and I can do it wireless from different computers. Print quality is clean and looks great. Price is very reasonable. Thank you very much for a wonderful product.

The color printer was a pain...always needing new cartridges, even though I didn't print off many pages with color. This laser printer is the perfect solution...boots up quickly and gives me printed pages with razor-sharp clarity.

Brother has been very good at replacing the printers(with refurb models, not new like the original but they keep breaking. I have asked Brother what they plan to do after my warranty is up if the same thing occurs and I did not get an answer. we are a very small business and we cant go around buying new printers every year. I am very disappointed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would choose something different. This printer has been very frustrating. I purchased it to replace a long time (10+years Brother MFC 9340DW. No comparison - the older one still operates better than this one. The 5700 loses its wifi connection all the time and shows offline with no good way to conveniently get it back online. I spoke with customer service five times throughout about that many weeks. They just had me keep reloading the driver. Nothing has made it work properly. I re-connected to the old printer after not using it for over a year, and it worked perfectly and continued to work perfectly. (It had another issue due to age that didn't have a good solution, so that's why I purchased this new one.) And, the 5700 is very loud - like shockingly loud. After the first printer we had with Brother, it's a huge disappointment.

It quickly prints all orders and turns a home office intom a commercial suite. Ever print is clear and professional looking. The design of this model is pleasing to the eye. The manual controls are simple to operate and make sense to the learned and novice users. It is quite a grade up from all my previous big name printers.

For one, we make sure they use the same toners which prevents us from keeping 10 different toners. We always use the factory toners because of reliability. Jus t have always use them

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The MFC-L5700DW is AWESOME I bought this MFC-L5700DW to supplement an older MFC-8220 that has been a workhorse for me since I bought it in 2006. I have a law practice, and am a heavy paper user. The new MFC-L5700DW was initially purchased so that I could handle network printing of Apple IOS products, but it has proven to be so much better than I could have imagined. I connected my MFC-L5700DW to my network via ethernet cable so that it can do wireless printing (I don't want to rely on the machine's WIFI - I'd rather use my own wireless routers so that I can have better coverage in my office space, but I also have it directly connected to my laptop. The machine can handle much, much larger stacks of paper for scanning / faxing than the older MFC-8220, and it prints extremely fast. I constantly use the print, fax, scan, fax to PC functions, and I like that it can save faxes on the machine when my computer is turned off. I also like the fact that i can print saved faxes directly from the machine (instead of downloading saved faxes to my computer from the fax machine - which takes a VERY long time). The machine scans in color, and black and white, and the black and white scanning function is very quick (color scanning - which is much more memory/CPU intensive - takes much longer. However, the scan quality is excellent). The ONLY thing that concerns me about my machine is the fact that the paper trays are made of VERY thin plastic. I was worried that they might easily break. However, the paper trays slide out very easily. Nevertheless, I always pull the paper trays out gently. The machine isn't too loud, as some people have reported. It does require a decent power draw when it starts printing, but I have my computers on a battery backup, so I don't have any problems with computers blinking out. Some people have reported that scans come out crooked. However, you have to push the paper all the way down in the Automatic Document Feeder until it bottoms out. The paper will stop initially when you push it in the ADF, and then you slightly push one more time until it bottoms out. This will make straight scans every time. Now my MFC-8220 sits on a shelf as a backup multi-function machine. Overall, I can't tell you how pleased I am with this purchase. It is excellent in every possible way. I would buy another again - without hesitation. Last comment - if you do the math on the consumables (toner and drum) this is one ECONOMICAL machine. Get one - you won't regret it. FYI - I bought a refurbished model, and it is PERFECT.

The reason I only gave 3 stars.... I used two of the exact same model and they both jam periodically when changing from letter to legal size printing in a mixed PDF document. In the machines defense - I do use cheap paper. That may be the cause. otherwise love love love this workhorse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A pretty good machine My unit is used mainly as a printer and it does a great job. Print is beautiful. I also use the scanner and as a copier. I haven't used the fax feature because I no longer use a land line. If I would improve anything I'd make it easier to remove the printed material from the tray and I'd also find a way to make the copies stack nice and neat so you don't have to jog them. This is a really impressive machine.

I was tired of inkjets that worked great at first and then the print heads need cleaning and the color toner needs replacing - but I only print black ink. My Brother MFC-L5700DW is perfect. Always ready and waiting for me. Easy to install and connect to my PCs and it prints duplex saving me paper and space. I liked it so much I bought one for my niece attending law school. Thank you for a great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine Love my Brother MFC-5700DW. It was very easy to set up. I use it connected to a WiFi network. I also bought an additional paper tray holding 500 sheets. I scans very well right from my MacBook Pro using a PDF Scanner app that I bought from the App Store. I have both letter size in one tray and legal in another tray and can print a document with both sizes of paper in the document and the printer will sense which tray to take the correct paper size when printing from the Adobe DC reader app. I really like this printer for what I am using it for (loan closing documents.

It's cost effective to operate especially with the high yield toner. The PC software is excellent (Paperport). Uses the same toner cartridge as the HL5200DW I also have in the office so I only have to buy one type that's interchangeable between the 2 machines. I will buy Brother next time I need a printer.

I don't need fax and I wish I could have found one that had all but the fax function, but it's okay - I just don't use it. I haven't been able to complete a wireless connection to my computer, I had to purchase a cable, but that may be operator error . . . Very fast operation. Scanning a document of 85 pages was difficult, but it may not have been meant to do that. I had to break it down into 2 scans to complete it. In the end, I really do like what it does.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fast, not as good as old one we had! We had another VERY old Brother MFC copier/multi-function printer and loved it but it finally died on us. This one is nice, but it does not do double sided copies easily which we thought it would (auto-duplex means to me it will auto-duplex a double sided copy, this does not - nor does it have a large platten to put larger than an 8/5" x 11" piece of paper to copy. We needed that. It is quick to copy regular pages and the fax works great, but we had to figure out how to make it print a "it sent okay" paper for evidence the fax worked. You can't tell when the faxes are sending all the time, which makes you think it's not working and you try it again and again, not realizing the first time it may have worked.

I have 3 more printers, same model, same issue...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a perfect machine for my small home office I bought this to replace a Kodak Ink Jet color printer, after I had purchased a color and black ink cartridges, printed only black and white, and used all the color cartridge up. There is a reason Kodak does not make printers anymore. This machine is great. WiFi connected, can hold almost a full ream of paper in the hopper, prints one side, both sides and small booklet format with a check box change. I only print black and white but the grey scale pictures are still very usable. I am looking forward to get 8,000 sheets printed per toner cartridge. Scans and copies one side and two side. Does everything I need in my office and home.

I am continually amazed and impressed with the speed and efficiency of the printer -- plus with the dual tray feature, it is able to print letter and legal documents directly from the .pdf file without my intervention. It had an issue initially with the toner cartridge leaking, causing dust on the page. But Brother was quick to send me a new toner and everything is fine now.

I never did get it to connect to my Hot Spot without using the USB cable. I would like to do it wirelessly, but haven't figured out how and spent a long time with the Brother help department on 2 days. I don't need the fax, but seems like all the multi-function printers include the fax option. I can't get it to scan directly to an email, but that is probably operator error. Great quality, speedy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scanner does not work Recently our company bought 2 MFC-L5700DW printers for 2 different locations. Users are unable to scan either from printers or from the computers. I was on phone with Brother customer assistance for over 3 and half hours for both printers, and they were unable to troubleshoot the issue. Instead I was told that the users are having problem with their laptaps. There are 5 different users are trying to scan and all of them having issues with scanning. Printing and fax features works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Machine Great and best costomer service ever! I love the solid build of the machine and quick print time. My machine had a small quirk with the automatic document feeder. Brother quickly put me through to a senior solutions engineer who fabricated a fix for my machine! He also went above and beyond to help me with various "pro-tip" configuration suggestions that I never would have thought of. I am very impressed with the machine, and even more impressed with the best customer service I have ever experienced! At first I sweated getting a monochrome laser. But after much research I settled on this beefy monochrome laser and an inexpensive but well rated inkjet to handle my occasional but convenient color printing needs.

Brother has tweaked them to make it impossible to bypass low toner issue, which can really put you in a bind if you don't have another cartridge and you have a print job that has to be done. GRRR. Set up is best conducted with a brother tech person rather than wasting your time trying to go through the setup yourself. Setup never works for me. I tried and then I just called. I know to do from past experience. One time I got a new tech support told me I would have to buy a new printer! Lucky I had concierge service through costco on that one. I do love my brothers and would give 5 stars if not for these two issues.

I'm on my second replacement now. Hopefully, this one will be better. In all fairness, we do print A LOT, but thought it could handle it. Customer service was great though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A mid-range printer. This is a good printer for a home but can't see it in an office setting. Tends to print light and with sploshes. This wouldn't work for an office printer. Somewhat clunky to set up for some reason. The disk was useless, so download drivers online. You definitely need to be selective as to what you download when installing. My computer running Ubuntu Linus is still not operational. I will have to play with it to get it to work. Overall, the price was right.

It was easy to set up and install on the wireless network. This is my 3rd Brother MFC printer. I had the first one for about 7 years and loved it. The second, an MFC-8910 DW did not hold up well, the print quality was never very good and it had to be replaced in less than 4 years. Based on the Consumer Reports guide I have high hopes for this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well for my business I do mortgage signings and print up to 200 page documents. The machine is working well and I have not needed to add a second tray, the multi purpose feed works well for documents that include legal size paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work horse! This is my 2nd Brother MFC, the last one lasted a long time, and did a great job. This one, is much upgraded, and works very well, in all aspects. I am not using it for faxing however. The only negative comparison to the last MFC, is this one is louder. But I like the display and controls much better on this one.

Works great and is an attractive piece for my home office. Also great customer service when I had a question.

In an additional 30 minutes I had the apps installed on 2 iPhones and 2 iPads as well. I was anticipating spending an entire afternoon to get this accomplished, but it worked flawlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my new Brother I had a brother before that has lasted at least 8 years so time for an new one. This one is super fast, a little loader then the last one but not a big deal. The starter cartridge has lasted me at least 1000 copies and still doing fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as happy as i was with the 8750 model This model jams papers more often. It is faster than my old model. The 2nd tray takes a genius to set it up. Your technician even could not figure it out. I had to call my computer guy. I spent 2 hours with your technician on the phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great All-in-One Device This is the 5th Brother MFC center I have purchased in the past 10 years. I replace them after reaching 100,000 pages. They keep getting faster and faster for scanning and printing. The 5700 was extremely easy to install. YOU HAVE TO READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. I have learned that you do not want to try to be creative and skip a step. I have it connected wirelessly to three Win 10 desktops, a Win 10 laptop, and it prints from iOS and Android mobile devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The scanner is quieter and faster speed I liked the scanner and printing speed. The scanner is very quiet. I don't like the dark color. I would think the copy would look better with fluorescent green, blue, pink, and red?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does everything and more! I had some very specific requirements for buying a printer, and this one meets all those expectations. It's fast, scans, copies, prints letter and legal automatically, and I'm still learning all it can do. Only drawback was that it did not come with a second tray and the second tray cost half what I paid for the printer. Costly accessory that I think could have been included or at least offered for less $$.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Chose The Right One! I'm very satisfied with this monochrome printer. It prints quickly and is quiet enough for me. The printer is large but is very professional looking. I am not currently using the fax or scanning modes but very happy that I have the capability. It was installed as a Wi-Fi printer and the installation worked on my first attempt to go through the setup instructions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from has stopped working after only 7 months bought this in august, and now 7 months later , the screen is frozen and locked up, had to send it back, they did give us replacement, (refurbished and that is not working well either, have only had that one a week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought to work with Windows 10 I think I will like the duplex if I can ever figure it out. I figured out the ID printer, but not for an 82 page report I want 2 sided. I haven't needed to fax or scan but my IT guy did so successfully. I would like to shorten the time between sending data and printing that data. First I need to find a longer telephone cord so I can move the printer somewhere else except for under my shelving. Right now I can't open the cover very far at all. I'm sure I'm going to love this all in one when I have time to work with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good MFP for in office processing I was looking for a MFP unit for in my office to save the many trips to our main unit in our office suite. The unit itself works well. Most issue have been getting network features, such as scan to a network folder, scan to e-mail, etc, set up. The printer is fast and quite. I haven't had the unit long enough to really form an opinion on durability.

I've now purchased three of them with the oldest being deployed for a little over two years now with no issues. We contract lease printers for the majority of our locations but in some areas this is not cost effective and these are working great for those locations. Fast reliable printing, scanning, and copying and so far not a single maintenance issue, just replace the toner as needed.
