Reduces our inventory of power supplies for various models and allows us to leave a power supply connected at the office desks and give one to those who need to travel or work from home. And opens up more options for docking stations (where they make sense, and they often don't) that can do "Power Distribution" (PD) to the laptop by connecting this same USB-C power supply to the docking station that's normally used with the laptop. I only wish it were available as a 130 watt version so we could use it across the range of laptops with different CPUs (Intel U, P and H series) and corresponding power usage requirements. But at 90 watts it works with U and P series and H series just charge more slowly. We can live with that. We've even grabbed one to power up a non-Dell Chromebook in a pinch and it works fine. USB-C is the universal standard now so if these fail they will be much easier to get replacements, as they won't have to be specific to the laptop brand or model.

The only grape is the way it’s designed to wrap the cord around the power brick, the outer shielding on the cord will separate from the connection point into the power brick. This is why I had to replace my old one, it is a design flaw that should be addressed. If you’re someone who doesn’t wrap the cord ever than your golden, if you’re someone like me who wraps the cord every day after I use it to put it away, overtime it will separate. My last one lasted me less than a year.

The cable is long and has a white LED light on the connector indicating it is powered on. It does not get too much hot during usage. My laptop uses a 120W charger, but this adapter has only 90W and still can charge my laptop, though it is slower. If you are in the market looking for a light, compact and reliable charger for travel, I recommend consider this one.

It isn't for precision 3541 Although shown as an available adapter for Dell prestige 3541 laptop, it was totally insufficient for charging the laptop while it is on. I bought 2 of them, one for office desk and one to keep in car wile i travel. they one caused warning message and the other only charged when the mini usb plug was turned on way. Dell should be smart enough to remove it from the available chargers for my laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dell USB-C 90 W AC Adapter with 1 meter Power Cord This Adapter does work properly. However, it is only 90 Watts. The original adapter is 130 Watts. Therefore I get a warning each time that I power on my laptop stating that I am using the wrong adapter. It would have been helpful if Dell had given a warning that this adapter was not the proper one to purchase. However, like I said, it does work with my laptop.

You will get a bios error code stating it is underpowered and your computer may not operate correctly. After reading the 60+ other complaints on here for the same thing, all you get is a generic reply from DELL telling you to call customer support, which means endless waiting on the phone before trying to explain to a non-understandable rep on the other side of the planet. And DELL KNOWS of this and won't change it!

This one is not the correct one for my system and it doesn't seem that Dell sells the one I need. Someone needs to get this corrected so other customers don't have the same problem.

After it got delivered I realized that I need a 130Watt power cord. There is no clear instruction provided in the package about how to refund it.
