Very pleased.
I like to have individual a/c adapters for home and office. That way I only need to transport the laptop and can leave the adapters plugged in at each place.
The plug tip and port on the laptop are very robust. Happy with this purchase.

Nice extra power-supply for my ThinkPad
Nice power-supply for ThinkPads. I like the fact that it's easy to wrap the cord securely around the power-supply base and that it locks into place. Makes traveling with this thing much neater.

Previously, I bought a third party charger for my X1 Extreme but it stopped working after barely a month. After buying the official Lenovo charger again, I have had no problems. This is why you should always stick to official products.

I'm using this 170W slim charger with my new X1 Extreme Gen 3.
Overall I'm satisfied with this charger, most especially because it is flatter than the more blocky traditional chargers. It's slim enough to actually fit inside the Lenovo laptop sleeves that have the extra zipper compartment and it doesn't bulge out like a fatter charger would.
This charger will reach about 9 feet from the outlet to the laptop plug. I do wish that there was a way to hold the first segment of the power cord into the charger itself (the wire that goes from the outlet into the charger itself. If the outlet is too far away and you move your laptop around, the wire has a tendency to pull out of the charger. This would be helpful, but it's not a major deficiency by any means. The ability to detach the power cord from the rest of the charger is helpful for storage/transportation.
When plugged into my laptop the Lenovo Vantage utility does recognize it as a 170W charger. In my case, it can charge from a drained battery to full charge in about 1 hr 45 minutes give-or-take.
I am deducting one star because I plugged this charger into a watt meter to see if it's actually pulling 170 watts when it's actively charging the laptop. I connected it to my X1 Extreme Gen 3 when the battery was completely drained. I turned the laptop on immediately after plugging it in, and the watt meter never reported any more than about 130 watts of power draw. I ran a series of stress test applications on the laptop to see if it ever pulled a full 170 watts, but again, it never passed 130 watts. So, with a fully drained Gen 3 laptop connected and running vigorous stress tests, it's only delivering about 75% of the 170 watt rated capacity. I'm not sure if this is by design or an actual fault with the laptop or this charger, but either way, it's clear that spending the extra money on a 170 watt charger versus the 130 watt charger didn't get me anything extra.
Other than that, I'm happy with this purchase.

Don't buy!
In August of 2021, for work, I bought a brand new Lenova Think Pad laptop from LENOVA and it came with this adapter. When I plugged it in, the message on the laptop screen stated "use the AC adapter that came with the laptop"... so I contacted Lenovo... unfortunately. no help... so I ordered another AC adapter that was recommended by LENOVO for this very Think Pad Laptop. When I plugged it in for the first time... I got the same exact message! To top it off, it only holds a charge for about an hour! Ridiculous! Wont buy LENOVA anything going forward.

Slim and Powerful for Lenovo P53 MobileWorkstation
Power adapter provides quick charge results and includes a cord reach of approximately 9 feet. Connection to my P53 laptop is firm and snug. Got this as an extra power adapter for use while traveling. Slim design is helpful when packing in computer bag.

OEM Replacement
I purchased this Adapter to have an extra in case my original charger is damaged. With the electrical input for the charger located in the center of the back of the computer, the lightweight plug is susceptible to damage/breakage. I just returned from working out of town and I had this in my travel bag so I didn't have to undo my adapter in my office. Note: THE ELECTRIC PLUG YOU PUT INTO THE OUTLET LEADING TO THE ADAPTER IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS ADAPTER. I am lucky I had an extra outlet plug.

The 230W AC Adapter that came with our ThinkPad was a bit of a burden to carry around with the laptop, however, this 170W slim one was the perfect size and weight. No issues with running the laptop and just the right size.

High quality with high price tag
Great, yet expensive charger. It is the original so you know you have a good working item that will last you for a long time, but the price is a bit heavy. I can find several generic chargers on amazon for fraction of this price. Again, the quality is the main reason you buy it, and you will get that with this charger.
