Love the screen protector and have no issues with it interfering with my iPad functions. A lot of thought went into this design...the protective corners, lightning port cover, various cut outs, snap on cover that also functions as a stand, etc. Watched video first so installation was easy and yes it's a tight fit, just as it should be. Fits iPad 9 perfectly. Very happy with this purchase.

So happy with this case and the only one I’ll ever consider. Has also survived many repeated drops from my son but faced the ultimate test today!

The fit is perfect, I couldn’t find any instructions on how to take it apart, so l could install it. I found instructions on Utube and got it apart. I didn’t want to break it taking it apart.

The first one protected my previous 7 year old iPad so well that I was able to get a very generous trade in value from Apple. (that along with TLC on my part. I was a bit disappointed that I saw that the covers went on sale just a short while after I ordered.

I work construction and mountian bike .I’m pretty rough with my phone it always getting wet, banged, bumped, and dropped They’ve always treated my phone well. I wish I could find one in a bright color for those times when it gets misplaced. My tablet also has an OtterBox and I feel more secure knowing that it’s protected too. I wish it had a neck strap so I wouldn’t have to keep in my hands full time.

That said, it adds a good deal of weight and the plastic screen cover might be overkill. I tossed mine and used a thinner film. Don’t use both screen covers like I originally did. (Long story Two screen covers lessens screen sensitivity considerably.

I was looking for something similar that would protect my iPad from falls and also protect my screen from my kitty cat’s claws. Also, I carry my iPad everywhere and am not the most careful person. This case feels and looks rugged and encloses my entire iPad. The touch screen still works and images are clear. The bonus stand is awesome for me to have as a setup for images I’m painting. I’m very pleased with this purchase and if it holds up like previous Otterbox items I’ve had, I’ll continue to be one happy camper.

The hard cover was in it during shipping so it arrived undamaged and in good shape. My son originally ordered a case elsewhere and it came without the hard cover (it was supposed to be included and the screen was damaged. I got a great product direct from the company this time.

The peace of mind was well worth the price to get the real deal. I would have no hesitation to throw my ipad in the saddle bags on my motorcycle, or use it in the yard or garage, with this level of protection. Exterior rubber is grippy enough that I doubt I’ll drop it anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from COVID the Colorado reps were replaced. Otterbox replaced the reps in Colorado with non otterbox independent reps due to the first world pandemic COVID 19. Unfortunately other box is not what it formerly way. When I tried repeatedly to do a replacement of my older case the system kept failing at the last moment so I ordered another one and that system worked I am using the new case, but it does not work correctly so I just deal with it. The outer seal the last one does not seal correctly nor does this one. Good luck to otterbox and humanity.

It also provides a convenient hands free lap or table viewing base. (Defender model)

The case adds the right amount of texture and grip to easily grab it without dropping. It is also still thin enough to sit nicely on the stand I had purchased earlier. I do not use the turtle shell with stand yet but can see using it on trips.

I have been using Otterbox Defender Series cases throughout the many years that I have owned many Apple iPhones and iPads and each one has always provided outstanding protection. I have dropped each countless times and the cases always have done an outstanding job of protecting the phones and tablets without damage to either. And Otterbox's warranty service has been terrific in the replacement of anything that ever needs replacing should the need arise. Although seemingly expensive, you get what you pay for and the quality of an Otterbox product never disappointed. Well worth the money for the level of protection provided.

My only minor, setback is the headphone port is a little restrictive and doesn’t take all 1/8 inch inputs but this can be remedied with a low profile adapter. The style with the built in film screen ruins the screen definition and still doesn’t protect the screen from a direct hit. First time otter box has let me down

It gives me peace of mind to know their device is protected in the way kids handle devices. I taught them how easy it is to prop it up with its own case built in and the built in screen protector that comes with the case is an added bonus. I am a critical critic and OtterBox always comes out on top. I only purchase OtterBox for protecting my mobile devices. The cost is completely justified by the product! The hard-shell top is both a stand & protection for the screen for traveling for example. I can’t imagine a better product for protection of an iPad.

I would only buy Otterbox personally as it seems most durable and best protection for an expensive piece of technology. I love the protective cover for screen and also the ability to stand ipad up. Whole case for the ipad creates somewhat of a durable briefcase feel for delicate ipad. My only complaint would be that the package did not come with instructions. We sought help for dismantling from package and attaching to the ipad using YouTube but I thought instructions would have come with case itself.

Not sure why the site what’s so confusing and not user-friendly and finding the most newest case. The iPad within hasn't got a scratch and is still functioning as if it was new. This new case for the 7th gen iPad that we just bought looks to be just as durable. I’ve seen knock offs or other brands but they just don’t have the same track record as otter box. Yes it’s a bit pricey and yes it may not have that neon blue color you want but it’s quality and it Will protect your electronics! I am clumsy and I drop things all the time especially my phone. My otter box case protected my phone and kept it in great condition! So it only made sense that when I was gifted with a new iPad that I do the same and get an otter box defender case for it. I won’t cover my electronics with anything else but otter box!!!

This is the best and most durable case that I have found for both the kids iPads and our phones. I love this case and the screen protector allows me to wipe it downs without any worries of messing up the screen. My youngest also loves the include stand that it comes with to prop up the iPad. Great buy and when they go on sale they definitely are even better.

I knew I was going to need a case for protection so I started searching for just the right one. Of all the ones I looked at and read the reviews I kept coming back to Otter Box. Over the years I have trusted Otter Box for my IPhone and have liked it very much. So I ordered the Otter Box for IPad and believe I made the right decision. Better protection if I accidentally drop IPad and comes with screen protection too. Plus it has a stand you can use for 2 different angles. I selected the Defender case because I have been extremely satisfied with Defender case for my iPhone (which has fallen without breaking on more than one occasion. Considering the rubber, all-around protection, it's slim and not bulky. I also love the hard cover that converts to a holder which can hold the iPad vertically or horizontally (my husband is jealous of this option). I am very confident with this Otterbox protector.

It's durable and I have peace of mind that if the iPad drops, it's well protected. I only wish there had been some instructions included as to how to open up the device to get it on the iPad. I watched a number of videos. My husband tried to open it. I was thinking of sending it back thinking it was defective. then I saw a video on YouTube where someone was able to open it up using a credit card. I used a card, similar to a credit card and it slid right off. Finally!!

It was very unfortunate though that this OtterBox wasn’t available at the Apple Store or Amazon or anywhere else in Canada. I had to pay too much to ship it to Canada and to clear customs, etc. Why are they not sold in Canada? A few months ago I bought a new iPhone 11 and bought annOtterBox for it in the Apple Store!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very satisfied with my Otter Defender case I am very satisfied with my Otter Defender case, I bought it so that if i drop it while i put it back in my lunch box on top of the lockers at the end of my break or lunch time, it does'nt break my screen. The cover work great to hold my ipad in place while i work with it. If you put it in the lower setting it work great both horizontaly and verticaly, but in the upper setting i found the horizontal have a viewing angle. In order to hold it in place in the upper setting you have to place the base of the ipad behind the inside edge of the case wich the put the ipad in a very up straight position.

I stupidly had set it “momentarily” on the roof of my car after an appointment. Proceeded to drive down a gravel road for 3-4 blocks, turn up a short hill for another block. I then proceeded to jump 9n a four lane expressway, had built up speed to approximately 60 mph when 8 heard an external sound, looked in the rear view mirror & noticed this black object flying off behind my vehicle and landing on the concrete highway. I then shockingly noticed my iPad was not on my front passenger seat. I quickly pulled over to the shoulder, ran back and found the cover with a corner piece chipped off, but no iPad! Further up the expressway toward the car, on the shoulder of the left lane, there was the bottom of the case. With dread 8 picked up the case, turned it over expecting to see a shattered screen. Much to my amazement the screen was intact! I then turned on the iPad and it worked perfectly, as if nothing had ever happed. The face edge around the cover of the screen sustained some scrape marks, but the screen protector and the rest of the case was unblemished! My phones and my iPads live in Otterboxes to this day to protect them from my stupidity. An amazingly well built product!

I agree with what you're thinking, I didn't think it would need instruction either, but trust me, you do. I had to watch YouTube videos to figure it out. Also, I very much dislike the two piece system. After years of opening up my iPad and just folding the cover piece in back of it, now I have to unsnap the cover piece, which isn't easy, and set it aside. That is not convenient at all. After using it for a few weeks I have confirmed my dislike of this system. I now find myself NOT wanting to use my iPad due to the inconvienience of that snap on, seperate piece for the cover. I want the protectiveness this item offers, but I want it to be easier to use. There has to be a better way. Would I buy again? No I wouldn't. I'm still not convinced I want to keep it. Would I recommend it to friends/family? Absolutely not.

The case is okay, but the built in screen protector is terrible, the way it’s integrated into one of the layers of the case means there’s no way to install it separately in a way that DOESNT cause air bubbles and rainbow rings. It was difficult to figure out how to take it apart for installation. Not even YouTube had a video for this case. The plastic screen protector, I tore it out, useless. The case for the case as a stand is good for viewing when sitting at a table.

Really? Previous had a soft home button. Charge plug port cover can’t be opened when ipad is locked in its stand. Previous version swung open from opposite side and worked well. I’m going to shop for a different case vendor.

We will got onto I-10 and heard a thump on the windshield. Looked back and saw my iPad bounce across the highway and landed on the yellow line on the berm. Went to next exit, came back and it was face down and the iPad was perfect. The otterbox got a scratch on the screen and cracked the frame but it saved my iPad. Thank yo for a great product.

My problem is with the warranty service. We ordered a new case through the warranty back in November and submitted payment. The payment cleared my bank but otterbox doesn’t have a record of the payment. I was able to successfully file a chargeback with my bank but I’m still without a case. I bought this product with the trust of a warranty. Don’t bother trying to call the customer service number you will NEVER get through. I’m really disappointed that I will have to order a case from a different company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Protection Period!! This Defender case comes with the screen protector. The case is outstanding! My iPad is completely protected. The screen is responsive and the screen protector is easy to clean. Does it add some size and weight to the iPad. Yes, but for the protection it affords, the difference is minimal. Do yourself a favor and protect your iPad. These “toys” are not cheap and while the trade-off is their portability, that comes with the price of being fragile. The Defender Case does the job! Well done. My only suggestion is different color choices. My wife says it too manly and not girly enough.
