Tripp Lite's slim SmartPro 2U 3000 UPS System provides intelligent, line-interactive battery backup with extended-run capability for networks and servers. It may be mounted in racks (using only 2U rackspace), as a tower, on walls or under counters. 3,000VA of battery backup allows you to work through short blackouts or safely shut down during longer ones. The unit has 9 outlets, diagnostic LEDs and 4 built-in communications ports that work with PowerAlert Software to provide e-mail or pager notification of power problems and the simultaneous automatic unattended shutdown of multiple servers.

The UPS has exceeded my expectations for a dual computer setup. Part of my job as the Digital Imaging Technician is to ensure the safety of the Hard Drives on which the entire film is kept and the SMART3000RM2U is a powerful component to my job's backup requirements.

We always used APC in the past but kept having issues with batteries. We have had these for 3 years and so far no issues. We haven't seen much loss of up time due to battery decay. I would recommend this ups for anybody that is looking for a cost effective solution for power outages and power conditioning.

The hardest part was lifting them into the server rack (they are heavy as expected). Load balancing and configuration was very easy and we love the notification options if we loose power or have issues. The install was so easy that when finished I totally felt like a Smart Pro~fessional.

My first unit quit charging the batteries after 6 years of faithful service. Tripplite won't provide prints, being handy with an iron, I'm sure I could repair my old one....but that's another story. I get numerous power-bumps or voltage fluctuations monthly and have never experienced an issue with either TV or multiple DVR's & HTPC's crashing. I have to believe that this has helped keep my 10 year old electronics from ending-up in a scrap heap. Only minute complaint would be the minimal run-time with the default battery's supplied. Although, if everything is running during an outage, I still have a good 7 minutes to get it all shut down.

Required some breaker box adjustments to provide 30A supply. Long cord allowed relocating Smart3000 to office solving fan noise in home theater. With everything running at normal levels Smart3000 would provide 12-15 minutes of pure sine wave power until my Generac whole house generator licks in, stabilizes and transfers load until return of utility power, which takes about 1 minute. Smart3000 then returns to standby and recharges itself. Upon return of public utility power, return transfer from Generac through my "Smart" transfer switch takes on the order of a millisecond. Smart transfer switch is capable of shedding spa and/or HVAC loads if generator cannot maintain 60Hz. Load shedding has never happened. I finally have surge, brownout and overvoltage protection for thousands of dollars worth of sensitive electronic equipment. Be prepared, a Smart3000A is HEAVY. I mounted mine raised of the floor of my office which has wood, not dusty carpet, flooring. Enjoy your peace of mind.
